IWRG (SUN) 05/16 Arena Naucalpan [Black Terry Jr. (flickr), Estrellas del Ring, Al Filo del Ring]
1) Comando Negro b Imperial
2) Alan Extreme & Eterno b Dinamic Black & Fly Star
3) Jack b Bombero Infernal
4) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro b Avisman, El Hijo del Diablo, Gringo Loco [IWRG IC TRIOS]
5) Silver King b Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Último Gladiador, Dr. Cerebro, Suicida, Pimpinela Escarlata, Extreme Tiger, Veneno, Pantera, Kenzo Suzuki [Copa Higher Power]
The AAA rudos and tecnicos did not get along, but they still managed to get the win. It came down to Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. versus Ultimo Gladiador & Silver King. Mascara pinned Ultimo Gladiador after pulling off his mask, then Kenzo took the referee and Ultimo Gladiador came back in to help Silver King, and Silver King picked up the win for Team AAA. Way to let IWRG down, everybody!
Oficials took the 1st and 3rd to retain the trios titles, though the Gringos may have kicked out at 2 at the finish. That’s going around here.
Jack & Bombero Infernal had a bloody brawl to set up their hair match next week.
CMLL (SUN) 05/16 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]

2) El Divino & Leo b Ángel del Mal & In Memoria
3) Ebola b Mr. Trueno [tournament, OCCIDENTE LH]

6) Hijo del Fantasma, Místico, Strong Man b Felino, Negro Casas, Terrible
Fantasma got Negro Casas clean with a German suplex in the third fall, which will set up a singles match next week. Fantasma still owes Negro one for beating him for the CMLL Middleweight title.
Locals Metal Blanco and Palacio Negro were more trouble than the rudos had figured on, so Mephisto fouled Blanco in the third fall.
Let’s look at this tournament so far:
05/02: Malefico b Infierno 05/02: Drago b Neutrón
05/09: Astaroth b Ráfaga 05/09: Gallo b Rey Trueno
05/16: Ebola b Mr. Trueno 05/16: Gallo b Drago
Have I screwed up something here, or is this not coming together at all? Gallo is currently listed in a third match next week.
Mr. Aguila worked a Martha Villalobos show before running in Arena Mexico, fouling Marco Corleone in the main event. (Hijo de Lizmark, who presumably was not running in another promotion’s show, did not appear.) A post on Box Y Lucha states Mr. Aguila gave the Perros a heads up that he was leaving before doing the run-in, which is always the professional move.
Perros del Mal and The Gladiatores have a podcast of their show from last Wednesday. Anyone listen?

Can’t link to it, but today’s Ovaciones has a big interview with Scorpio Jr., looking for one last shot in Arena Mexico. Scorpio is demanding a loser leaves Arena Mexico match with Shocker, angry that Shocker claims to own the Guapo gimmick when he used the name first.
