Main event was the mat based battle on Panther/Navarro you’d expect it to be. Fans got on Ultimo Dragon for not doing enough on the mat, though he had a good time. Champs held onto their belts in the semimain.
Going to wait until tomorrow to do Sunday results, because I’m waiting for a few details, but the important news is
- Guerrero Samurai II lost his mask to Rafaga in Guadalajara’s cage match
- Mistico pulled Volador’s mask for a main event DQ in Coliseo; this sets up a singles match next week (against the Perros show) which may be for the light heavyweight title
- not much of note in IWRG?
AAA made a couple changes to Friday’s TV taping. Mesias is finally out of action due to his shoulder surgery, with Heavy Metal taking his place in the main event. Pimpi takes Metal’s place in the semimain, which gives us the Pimpinela/Octagon/Wagner trio teased on the last TV taping. Which probably means this was the plan all along and an early version of the lineup got posted.
Sangre Azteca & Nitro are headed back to France the first two weeks in July. They’re going back to teach classes this time.
This week’s SuperLuchas has Chris Daniels as the mystery main eventer, but AAA have since said Daniels is actually taking Nicho’s spot in the cruiserweight trios.
Of course, the big news is Dorian has a new secretary. This week’s AAA TV in Mexico also pushed Konnan not being happy about Vampiro being in the Legion.
Volador, Sombra, Ultimo Guerrero and Atlantis worked a free (and heavily attended) PAN political rally. Opening match is listed as “Corruption, Crime and Racketeering vs Decency, Hope, and Progress”, though they don’t say who won.
Amapola was among four Mexican celebrities taking part (by satellite) in Spain’s day long reading of Don Quixote.
I think this is an article about a news show visiting Gran Apache’s lucha classes, but I’m confused. Doesn’t take much, but why would a newspaper be writing about a TV show?
Rob has recaps of Puebla 08/24/09, LLP 08/15/09 and IWRG 08/20/09, as well CMLL 08/25 and Puebla 08/29/09.

You’ve got to be kidding me. Pretty sure Cerebro Negro’s partners turned on him just last week, that’ll be fun. TeleFormula can skip showing this week, I’ll be OK.
If (ha) the Gringos win the title match on Thursday, the tercera is champion vs champion. The Sun God is debuting in the segunda, good to see he’s a tecnico.

2) Infierno vs Ráfaga [OCCIDENTE LH, semifinal]

Never give up, never surrender! (but probably stay down for three after a flip ‘rana)
The Occidente Light Heavyweight championship is the one Mictlan last held, which he said he was soon to come back to defend. This seems to be a tournament to determine a new champion, though I’m not sure if these are the only two matches and if they’re holding off the final until the next week.
