Edit 3: I’m just going to leave all the rest of this here like an archelogical dig. Older edits on the bottom, newer stuff on the top.
Today’s changes
PdM (SUN) 05/02 Sala de Armas Magdalena Mixhuca, DF
1) Turbo vs Black Thunder [NWA MEX LIGHT]
2) Estrellita, Leo, Oriental vs Medussa, Pesadilla, Ragde
3) Nova & Oriental vs El Hijo de Rey Misterio & Groon XXX
4) Mr. Águila vs TJP
5) Damián 666 vs X-Fly, ?, Charly Manson, Halloween [hardcore]
6) El Hijo Del Santo, Latin ♥, Marco Corleone vs Blue Demon Jr., el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Hijo del Lizmark
That’s the name they have on the poster for Latin Lover. Don’t ask how I can type that.
Lizmark moved to the main event to work opposite Marco, with Latin & Perro against each other too.
Edit 2: The poster turns out to be right; Sabu’s not in that hardcore match right now, but will be in a match on the PPV. Also, it looks like Leo will be in the trios match, not Angel. Anyone want to put over/under on how many edits I end up doing to this post?
Edit:Perros del Mal put up their own lineup, which I’ve added below. Sabu is the mystery person on that poster. No mention of Dreamer. Between the two lineups, we’ve probably got the whole a card, though there’s one match that doesn’t quite work. I’ve edited the post below to make sense of it.

Website is http://www.vivalalucha.com/; very Perros del Mal banner on the top. They posted a partial lineup posted so far:
PdM (SUN) 05/02 Sala de Armas Magdalena Mixhuca, DF
1) Turbo vs Black Thunder [NWA MEX LIGHT]
2) Estrellita, Leo, Súper Nova vs Medussa, Pesadilla, Ragde
3) Hijo del Lizmark & Oriental vs El Hijo de Rey Misterio & Groon XXX
4) Mr. Águila vs TJP
5) Damián 666 vs X-Fly, Sabu ?, Charly Manson, Halloween [hardcore]
6) El Hijo Del Santo & Marco Corleone vs Blue Demon Jr. & el Hijo del Perro Aguayo
Poster advertises El Angel, so I would suspect he’s the guy who ends up teaming with Super Nova. (Edit: Or not.) Everyone else is accounted for!
Like the DGUSA PPVs, and ROH PPVs before them, this show will be taped and in advance of airing and repeat many times. This PPV airs in a month DGUSA does not, with the idea that it’d be a regular every other month thing. No price, but it’s probably in the same range as those other shows and depends on the market.
It’s amazing that the Perros del Mal have US PPV, while AAA and CMLL do not. (It’s also amazing that I don’t yet have a way to order this PPV. I’ve got two months to figure it out.)
TJP is TJ Perkins, CMLL Havana Brother of long ago. This is mostly irrelevant to this post, but he’s also working the DGUSA shows and I thought there was some deal where guys had to be PPV exclusive. Probably don’t know what I’m talking about here. His match should be good, and 1/2 should be fun.

What does Groon XXX have on these guys? LOL! He needs the gimmick of having dirty pictures or videos of lucha promoters because how he continues to get booked is amazing.
Dreamer is probably way more expensive to fly into Mexico than he is to book in his hometown of NYC…..
No Histeria or Alebrije? I would think PERROS would want to put them on the card to stick it to AAA?
Much like when I make my NHL picks…
ALWAYS TAKE THE OVER.
We’ll set it at 5.5 and I’ll take the over with 6th edit being: Show is cancelled.
Preparing for the third edit now that the Perros have posted their “CARTEL OFICIAL”. Still no match for Dreamer, but my guess would be that he and Sabu get added to the hardcare match to make it a six way…or a trios. Where is Super Crazy that weekend?
I am so hitting the over on this one and will even take it one step further to tell you the exact day the show will be cancelled. May 15th.
@Rob: The PPV in the US being canceled or the actual show at Sala del Armas?
Let’s go with… PPV.
The first thing I wondered about was the exact thing Cubs doesn’t want anyone to ask about. LOL!
Crazy is finishing an AJPW tour on 05/02, teaming with Bushi in their junior tag tournament. Bad timing.
Here are the details of Dreamer and Sabu:
Tommy Dreamer was booked by Masked Republic to appear on the 4/25 taping that was set to be in conjunction with Valiente Lucha Libre in Chicago.
Valiente lost the Chicago show (that’s a whole story in and of itself).
Valiente moved the show to NY on the same date (and from the beautiful Aragon Ballroom in Chicago to a hole in the wall nightclub with polls down the middle of the room in Yonkers, NY)
Valiente cancelled 5 of 6 booked April dates on many Masked Republic stars including Demon, LA PARK, and Hijo and to this point has refused to pay agreed upon cancellation fees.
Masked Republic ceased all business relationships with Valiente.
Masked Republic began working with Perros Del Mal and was set for Dreamer to make the 4/30 show in Mexicali.
A few days after the Mexicali quake, Perros got a call from government officials in Mexicali stating that their permit for the event was being pulled and all major events in the city would be cancelled until further notice.
Because 5/1 is a major PDM TV taping in TJ, the PPV taping was moved to 5/2 in Mexico City.
Unfortunately, Dreamer was booked in Australia that day but was unable to confirm that until after Perros announced the show.
Sabu was booked by Masked Republic as a replacement. However, there have been some politics over that (details which I will share with the site here once settled).
Regardless of the live 5/2 show, Sabu will appear on the PPV, details to be forthcoming.
5/2 live event is not getting cancelled (can’t tell you Perros won’t change lineup again).
PPV is not getting cancelled.
P.S. When the question of over/under was originally posed, I emailed and put my own guess at:
Before 5/2 – Under 17
Between 5/2 and PPV Debut June 11 – Under 2
(PPV master is due on 5/15 with the 10 minute preview special due even earlier, so all the details will have to be locked by then).
@Kevin Kleinrock: Thanks for all of the details.
So are the Perros in control of the lineup with minimum input from Masked Republic? I’m pretty much the biggest fan of the Perros you’ll find on this site, but even I’m not sure if that sounds like a good idea.
I’m pretty sure I’ll be going to the show, I just need to figure out when I am going to be able to make it to the Perros office to buy tickets.
@Alan
The Perros are in charge of most of the lineup. There are certain wrestlers that Masked Republic and Perros agreed to use. And, Masked Republic is involved in bringing in Hijo, TJ Perkins (TJP), and was involved with Dreamer and Sabu and attempting to work it out for them to be on the show. It was much easier when it was supposed to be in Chicago and then NY.
But, the Perros and Masked Republic are on the same page (even if this site has updates to the card before the VivaLaLucha.com site) and once the final product is released on Pay Per View, it will be a very unique 2 hours of TV that will feature not only matches from that night, but some other segments as well.
Also, while I read this site daily, for some reason today was the first day I looked at the comments sections. Masked Republic (and I) certainly value the opinions of those on here and are anxious to see what you guys think of the first Pay Per View. It is certainly a different place for me to be working from, basically co-producing with a company I have never worked with directly before, but I think in the end it’s going to provide for a very entertaining PPV that should accomplish all 3 of our goals: appeal to Hispanics who don’t normally purchase PPV events, appeal to traditional American pro wrestling fans who are looking for an alternative, make the hardcore wrestling fans/internet wrestling community who takes the time and pays the $20 to order the event feel like they definitely got their money’s worth.
And, if you are going to be in Mexico City for the event and you do make it to the show, try to find me and say hello. I’ll be the white guy smiling and nodding while everyone else speaks Spanish around me. :-)
Question, just making sure – this won’t be available on DirecTV, will it?
As of right now, no DirecTV is not carrying the PPV. Satellite providers have many less channels on which to place PPV than cable, and therefore make most events guarantee a minimum number of buys in order to be on the air. Obviously WWE, UFC, and even TNA don’t have to worry about it (though sometimes you have to wonder about TNA, but I think they are basically grandfathered in anyway), but it presents a risk to smaller companies if DirecTV will even give up space for it. It’s something we hope to address in the future.
Though, the event will be released on DVD.
So I either misunderstood yesterday’s confusing facebook update from the Perros or the tickets just weren’t available today anyway. They did take my money and my name, phone number, and email address, so we’ll see what that gets me on Monday.
Damian saw me and came out to ask me a question, but sadly my Spanish comprehension was horrible this morning so I couldn’t understand him. And I didn’t think to point out to him that his English is surely better than my Spanish anyway, so that maybe we should be using it to communicate.
@KevinK: I’ll be at the show unless my wife becomes very annoyed that I’m going to lucha the day before movers come to pack up all of our belongings and move us to Lima. I’ve lived in Mexico City for two and a half years and seen a lot of lucha in that time including a handful of Perros shows when they run in Mexico City. They are a great live promotion, but I think they could use someone pushing them to do something more interesting at the main event level to make their TV more interesting. Hopefully if you all keep working with them that will improve as they progress some storylines in the PPVs. I’m not a fan of the matches, but at least they have pushed the XFly/Manson feud to a conclusion which is a step in the right direction for them.
I’ll try to spot you at the show. I’ll most likely be the only gringo sitting in the crowd (that’s normally the case at the Perros shows anyway), and will hopefully be sitting pretty close to the ring.
@KevinK: Alright, well I’ll definitely pick up the DVD of the show is/when Walmart gets it in.
Well, here’s to hoping it makes it’s way into WalMart. That’s not an easy place to get DVDs into (and often isn’t worth the financial risk associated with being in there). But, we are toying with the idea of going BluRay too since it would be the first lucha BD, so, maybe we can get their interest that way. But, the DVD will definitely be worth picking up as it will be packed with bonus features too.
Yay a week without lineup changes! Well, Viva la Lucha has Angel in for Oriental in the segunda, but that seems likely a result of last weeks changes moving Lizmark up to the main.
My wife picked up my tickets today, but I forgot to ask her to check the seating chart. Based on the numbers (170s) I’m guessing they’ll be decent seats in about the third row.
