Mini Cibernetico, Perro teases match that will not happen, GDL

Lost half this update! Hopefully I don’t forget too much.

Mini Cibernetico says it was NOT him who stabbed two people and he’s not sure why the press reported it. Damian Moreno Quiroz says he was at home, sleeping, at the time he was supposedly stabbing people. Mini Cibernetico says he doesn’t know the woman and notes he’s not actually in jail. Something doesn’t add up here – perhaps the person arrested just claimed to be Mini Cibernetico (or was another one), and somehow the wrong real name got linked to it?

Perro Aguayo Jr. gets press today by claiming he’ll be doing a Perro vs Santo vs Demon vs Park mask match sometime before the end of the year. This is one that is impossible believe until a firm date and building is announced, and even then it’s iffy until it’s in the ring. It’s a great way to get attention, since no one ever calls Perro Jr. (or anyone else) on teasing these fantasy matches and never actually delivering on them, but sadly Perro Jr. does not manage to work in a plug for the show that’s actually occurring this Sunday. Record is giving away tickets to that show.

AAA says Mesias will be back on AAA TV in February, announcing some February tapings in the process:

  • 02/05: Tehuacan, Puebla
  • 02/05: Puebla, Puebla
  • 02/07: Salamanca, Guanajuato

AAA also says they’ll be back at the Lucha Libre Expo, which will be on the 23rd, 24th, and 25th. No month is actually mentioned – maybe they’re going back to April.

There’s also a text interview with Rocky Romero and a video one with Marisela Pena

The “101 lances y llaves de la lucha libre” photo exhibition is moving to UNAM. La Jornada has an interview with a Arena Puebla photographer.

DJ Spectro looks back at Raman’s debut.

Segunda Caida has a recap of the 11/29/09 IWRG, with Freelance vs Oficial Fierro.

Ras de Lona #80 is part 3 of their 2009 review. Hooray for a new episode this weekend.

  1. If it is the 23-25, April would make sense for the Expo since that is a weekend. If it isn’t April, July would be the next month where those dates are on a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Here’s hoping for April since I should still be here for it then.

  2. @Alan: Last year, you posted an awesome album of the photos you took. Could you link it again? That was good stuff.

  3. @thecubsfan: That’s usually how I watch it. But my POV is that the footage should be current for LATV viewers.

Can’t believe I’m spending my birthday going to FCW Arena.

  4. @LLL: Thanks, here are the links
    Day 1-Day 1
    Day 2-Day 2
    Day 3-Day 3

After last year’s Expo a few people here were talking about coming down for this year’s. Anyone still considering it?

  5. Tonight was crazy at the FCW Arena. Everyone turned it up a bit, I guess to avoid being fired.

Alberto Banderas and Heath Slater surprisingly had a crazy hardcore style match. Banderas came out, and immediately hit Slater, then wedged a chair in the corner between the middle and top turnbuckles. From there it was all brawling on the floor. Banderas hit a tope. Slater threw him into the metal stairs opening a 3 inch cut. Slater went to powerbomb Banderas off the metal stairs onto four chairs that were set up, but Banderas reversed it with a back body drop. Ouch. Banderas got the pin in the ring.

  6. pwinsider says ROH is doing a combined Lucha show in Charlotte in April. At least that’s how it sounds. Gary Juster is involved. He is the guy who ran Lucha in Atlanta and Raleigh.

Should be interesting to see what luchadors are on the card.

  7. I’m guessing the Luchadors will be Teddy Hart, Jack Evans, Rocky Romero, Kozlov and probably Puma.

So Cubs, Any idea when AAA is going back to doing the ACM Multimedios show? I can’t beileve ACM is booking another VOLTAJE NEGRO vs Furor match hair vs hair. I think they are doing it to spite me. Voltaje makes Rush look like El Hijo Del Santo.

  8. @Tim: I’m also guessing it’s a sold show to a local Mexican events promoter. Grady Cole Center looks awesome.

I’m hoping they’ll have authentic luchadors, like Parka, Wagner and a mini or two. They should bring in Jindrak to confront Cornette(who is pretending to be a southern Democrat with weekly rants against Republicans). Juster has to be smart enough to know Hart/Evans/Romero/Kozlov won’t draw Mexicans.

  9. @Tim: I *think* they may be waiting until after January.

I actually believe this will be actually luchadors. Since they didn’t name a promotion, I think this will be the indy crew.

  10. @Alan: “After last year’s Expo a few people here were talking about coming down for this year’s. Anyone still considering it? ”

Of course. July would be far better for me than April though but if it’s April I think I can work out arrangements. Still looking for travel buddies though.

  11. @Alan: Depends on how the next couple months go. If it’s in April I doubt I’ll be able to go due to finals a a few days afterwards. If it’s in July I may be able to go.
