Puebla, EAW

CMLL (MON) 12/14 Arena Puebla [El Sol de Puebla, R de Rudo]
1) Asturiano & Tigre Rojo b Karisma & Mr. Rafaga
2) Ares, Hooligan, Policeman b Guerrero Maya Jr., Lestat, Starman
3) Fantasy, Mascarita Dorada, Shockercito b Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Violencia
4) Dragon Rojo Jr., Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca b Hijo del Fantasma, Máximo, Rouge
5) Brazo de Plata, Strong Man, Toscano DQ Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Texano Jr.

Rey snuck in a foul on Strong Man and the sources differ from there on the official finish. El Sol says Bucanero got the win, R de Rudo says Bucanero got DQed.

Rudos won the semimain in straight falls, which sets up the title match for next week. Hijo del Fantasma and Sangre Azteca as Sangre was talking to the press after the match.

Ares replaced Escorpion, which makes two shows Escorpion’s MIA from. Injured? Being regimmicked? Busy shopping for holiday gifts?

In addition to all the other discounts (1 adult = 5 kids tickets free) going on this month, CMLL is also letting in any child under 5 years old for free.

DJ Spectro starts his Best of 2009 with special recognition to Mr. Niebla.

EAW is supposed to announce a show for New Years Day in Mexico City today.

  1. So what’s the over/under on CMLL just getting to the point and announcing something like this:

“PLEASE COME TO OUR SHOW! NOBODY IS COMING! WE NEED PEOPLE! ANYONE WITH A PULSE ENTERS FREE!”

  2. I’m waiting for CMLL to start letting fans do Midget Tossing and open a Brothel in the back of Arena Mexico with the ring girls.

  3. LATV may go through another transformation. They’re getting rid of two top execs, but not the programming director. Still could change things in a big way.

I think Mr. Niebla will be a full-fledged tec by early next year. He has a funny gimmick, but he can’t be taken seriously as a top heel and the fans like him anyway.

  4. I’m Thinking LATV won’t be around that much longer. Like Estrella TV, it shows the same damn shows all the time.

If Niebla turns, so should Negro Casas. Peste Negra should never break up. NEVER

  5. As long as LATV can get cheap content, and digital subchannels need content, I think they will survive.

Niebla is like a tecnico. Fans seem to like the gimmick. CMLL even used him to promote the latest house show ticket discounts, which a babyface is supposed to do.
