Braozo, Metalico, Super J

Slow day.

In an interview for Dos de Tres, El Brazo says the rumors aren’t true, he’s not going back to CMLL. What rumors? I guess this is just a reaction to the Brazo family stuff CMLL has been doing. El Brazo says he’ll be loyal to AAA forever.

Metalico is out of action after hitting the arm of a chair badly, and ending up with an abscess in his left buttock. He underwent surgery and was supposed to get out of the hospital yesterday.

CMLL’s Twitter says Diamante will have a new look on Friday. Maybe I can do live results for both shows on Friday, because waiting every twenty minutes for updates from GdT seems a bit lame. (Depends how far I’m on TV. Haven’t got AAA done, stopped just before the third fall of the Sin Salida semifinal.)

NJPW announced the last two participants in the Super J a couple days ago, and neither of them are Sombra (or anyone else from CMLL.) Don’t remember if I was smart enough to mention here, but I figured this was the way it was headed after Sombra wasn’t in the initial 14. There just didn’t seem to be any reason to hold back his name, since it doesn’t have much value in Japan. (The names they did hold back were both NOAH wrestlers, probably to wait to setup the NJPW/NOAH interaction.) There’s always the possible Sombra is going for some non-tournament action, but CMLL had plenty of press events to announce things like that, and have not. Maybe plans changes, maybe I was wrong in the first place. (Definitely wrong with how it turned out.)

Nikkia, who was mentioned as working Rey Bucanero’s last club show but hasn’t been seen yet, still gets a profile article on Televisa Deportes, just so they can some text to go along with the pictorial.

Martha Villalobo’s Rey del Ring promotion will be holding it’s annual end of the year party, inviting p people who don’t normally work there (including CMLL) and selling tickets to the public for autograph signings and dancing and such.

SoloLuchas writes about the history of Rokambole (including the short lived one.)

Ohtani’s Jacket is frustrated with IWRG for the Dr. Cerebro/Suicida booking and almost done entirely.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update AND Alfredo on IWRG 11/14/09.

Kidnapped by Ninjas has a drawing of Chessman.

This is a charity show for children deal with cancer. They’re hoping for a 4,000 person turnout, and all the ticket money will go the charity – the wrestlers will be paid out of other donations. This would be Bucanero’s return match.

2) Neutrón & Virgo vs Malefico & Ráfaga
3) Gallo vs Mr. Trueno

  1. “Metalico is out of action after hitting the arm of a chair badly, and ending up with an abscess in his left buttock.” Damn talk about a pain in the … nah too easy. This is off topic, but the new picture/avatar (whatever it’s called) looks awesome.

  2. KrisZ’s next lucha report WILL mention Nikkia as well…RIGHT KrisZ?

@Jake: He put down Mark and then praised Matt Morgan. Seriously… I think Jindrak’s a better all-around wrestler than Morgan has shown and I’ve actually seen Morgan on TNA. Cornette loses some credibility there in my opinion.

  3. Poor Metalico. He’s going to be the butt of some backstage ribbing for sure. Those chairs at ArMex and Coliseo will eventually end someone’s career.

  4. @CM93: didn’t Pirata lose an eye after hitting a seat? and even if this was the first time, it’s obvious that the seats posed a danger on dives, and the problem should’ve been addressed.

  5. @Alfredo: I took it as him referring to Jindrak’s charisma and not his wrestling ability. IN MY OPINION he is right. Marco has very little charisma. Morgan has charisma and can be molded into more of a money maker than Marco.

  6. @Jake: I think Jindrak could be a great heel. Either way, a big guy doing the dives is not that common, and I think the American public should get to see Jindrak again.

  7. @LLL: There is more to wrestling than just moves. He is a great athlete I will shout that out at the top of my lungs. But the guy is a dead fish when it comes to character.

To me he is boring because I am asking for more than just a great athlete when I watch wrestling.

  8. @Jake: I’ve seen less of Matt Morgan than I’ve seen of Marco over the years. I just think there had to be guys who were better than Matt Morgan with more charisma and wrestling ability to use as a comparison. The little I’ve seen of Morgan, I haven’t really been too impressed…BUT, keep in mind he’s in TNA and its pretty difficult to watch that show.

I think Mark’s done a very good job in Mexico. I agree he’d be a pretty good heel. I think CMLL and AAA see him more as a guy who will draw in women with his build. As a fan, I see his promos and a bit of cockiness comes out of them, enough so that I think he’d make a good heel. I’m surprised Konnan hasn’t added him as the main guy in the Foreign Legion. AAA’s gonna need something besides Wagner vs. Mesias or Wagner vs. Cibernetico or Cibernetico vs. Mesias for their main events. El Zorro, Corleone and Jack Evans all have main event potential in AAA.

  9. @Alfredo: I see your point. I believe Cornette was so high on Matt Morgan because he was there watching the guy train and work long matches in OVW which is/was a very different beast from TNA and WWE.

  10. I think, if Cornette had seen the Marco Corleone act, he’d probably think higher of him, but he’s almost certainly not seen him in many many years.

  11. @thecubsfan: You may be right….

I want everyone to watch the guys ring entrance. Look at his face…. What is up with the “dead fish no charisma inside me and I want to die” expression????

  12. @Jake: “I want everyone to watch the guys ring entrance. Look at his face…. What is up with the “dead fish no charisma inside me and I want to die” expression???? ”

    He works for AAA.
