11/17-23 CMLL Lineups

CMLL (TUE) 11/17 Arena Mexico
1) Apolo Estrada Jr. & Corazón de Barrio vs Camorra & Zayco
2) Astro Boy, Delta, Trueno vs Bronco, Calígula, Méssala
3) Fabián el Gitano, Flash, Rouge vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Hooligan, Pólvora
4) Máximo, Metro, Toscano vs Euforia, Nosferatu, Vangelis
5) Atlantis, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero vs Blue Panther, Máscara Dorada, Shocker

More Negro/Dorada. On Tuesday’s lineup, they spell his name “Rush.” On Sunday’s, it’s Rouge. Maybe there are two! I’m scared.

CMLL (FRI) 11/20 Arena Mexico
1) Guerrero Maya Jr. & Metálico vs Disturbio & Semental
2) Ángel Azteca Jr., Ángel de Oro, Ángel de Plata vs Puma King, Skándalo, Tiger Kid
3) Euforia vs Máscara Dorada [lightning]
4) Blue Panther, La Sombra, Volador Jr. vs Ephesto, Mephisto, Virus
5) Naito, Shigeo Okumura, Yujiro vs Terrible, Texano Jr., Vangelis
6) Místico, Shocker, Strong Man vs Averno, Felino, Negro Casas

Vangelis? With two Hijos de Avernos in the semimain and one in the main? Have they forgot Terrible & Texano are in the group? Possibly!

I think I just suggested Vangelis in the main event. Maybe I need to rethink this. Anyway, remember how they had to give Okumura the Gran Alternativa to justify him being in the semimains with No Limit – does this mean that didn’t work and Vangelis is on his level, or it didn’t have to happen since they can just book anyone in meaningless extra man in feud positions.

(At some point, I promise to you I will get over Okumura winning the Gran Alternativa. It just might take until the next one.)

There are good matches, but is there anything else going on here? Not so much. Judging from the comment on the news page, they may be wanting to get Mistico some Friday wins to make up for losing the IWGP title. You know what might work? Doing the Leyenda de Plata tournament.

CMLL (SUN) 11/22 Arena Mexico
1) Rayo Tapatío I & Rayo Tapatío II vs Artillero & Súper Comando
2) Mima Shimoda, Yezca, Zeuxis vs Dark Angel, Estrella Mágica, Star Fire
3) Dr. X, Hooligan, Loco Max vs Pegasso, Rey Cometa, Starman
4) Máscara Dorada, Máximo, Rouge vs Euforia, Pólvora, Virus
5) Blue Panther, Héctor Garza, Místico vs Atlantis, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero

Toughest match for Dark Angel – this one with 4 novatas, the one where she had 2 rudas on her team and was facing 3 rudas (what happened to the Zorras, anyway?), or any match with the Beautiful People?

No Brazo de Plata and Strong Man this week. They’re only two feuds away from being done for the year.

  1. Tuesday’s card isn’t too hot. I like the segunda and that could turn out to be the show-stealer of the week if everything comes together. Bronco really impressed me on C3 today and seems to have chemistry with Delta. I can completely do without the middle two matches. Flash is completely wasted as usual and I wonder who will be lazier – Toscano or Maximo? Main should finally set up the match I’m waiting to see. It’s been quite the build-up.

Friday looks fantastic! … Unfortunately we won’t get to see most of the fantastic stuff.:( First three matches look great with the 2nd and 3rd in particular being HOLY SHIT WOW AMAZING type matches. Time for my weekly beg-a-thon for a TDN supplier. The TV opener looks like it has the chance to also be match of the week. Hopefully Panther/Virus get a LITTLE time to work the mat. Vangelis in the semi-main is AWWWWWWWWWWWWESOME! You can’t blame it on the France trip b/c who went on the France trip that would have fit in his place? There’s nobody. Maybe Misterioso II but he’s been 100% Poder Mexica lately. I look forward to seeing how Vangelis fits in. If nothing else they have an easy out with him costing Texano/Terrible the match and telling everyone the Japanese supported the Nazis so he has to support his buddies. I’ve also got a feeling we’re heading towards a Mistico vs Averno title match before the end of the year.

  2. OK, I’ve lost track of how Coliseo matches translate to TV. How likely are the tercera and main from next Sunday to wind up on Fox Sports?
