4) Histeria, Psicosis, Veneno vs Arandú, Star Boy, TJ Boy
5) Blue Demon Jr. & Incógnito b Adam Pearce & Oliver John

Said to be a good turnout. They did a bunch of local promotion beforehand.

AAA (SUN) 11/29 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [Estrella del Ring]

2) Golden Boy, Rey Demonio Jr., Simbolo 2000 b Angel Dorado Jr., Sky, Street Boy

Rudo referees and battling seconds in the main event, but Hombre sin Miedo held onto his mask. Sobredosis is Jose Luis Rodriguez.

CMLL (SUN) 11/29 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Thunder Boy b Relampago Azul
2) Angelo & Idolo b Acertijo & In Memoria
3) Astaroth & Metal Blanco b Mr. Trueno & Rey Trueno
4) Ángel Azteca Jr., Palacio Negro, Saturno b Ángel del Mal, Dr. X, Hooligan
5) Ángel de Plata, Brazo de Plata, Strong Man b Atlantis, Último Guerrero, Vangelis

What a main event. Pictures after the link are exactly what you want them to be.

Semimain sets up a title match next week.

Dr. Wagner Jr. talked about his Lucha Libre Premier win to NotiMex, noting “we must not allow these titles be won by foreign fighters.” Is Wagner the rudo here? I’m never sure. Anyway, I actually wanted to use this to jump off on a more important point – if AAA would not have Wagner lose in this (completely meaninglessly, to be honest) tournament, why would the have him lose the Mega title? Dr. Wagner is the big big big favorite to retain the title at Guerra de Titanes.

AAA wrote some about Mesias’ annual trip back to Puerto Rico over the winter. El Sol de Cuatutla has a story off of AAA’s press release, and the actual news here is Ricky Banderas is scheduled to face WWE’s Carlito Colon. Both Carlito and Primo get to wrestle one match a year outside WWE in Puerto Rico, so this is that match for Carlito, and AAA is billing it as a big AAA vs WWE match. Which only makes sense if Mesias is going to win.

CMLL posted a preview for Tuesday’s show on it’s news page. I suspect this is what they send out to the new agencies and we’ll see the same quotes in ESTO tomorrow.

Box Y Lucha posted 8 articles overnight again. I’m not sure all the lucha sites have figured this out yet, but the internet is actually different than publishing magazines. You don’t have to do all the articles at once – you can post something every day, because the idea is people come back often, not just once a week. There’s no extra cost for publishing daily as opposed to weekly, and then your articles won’t be dated. Crazy, I know.

Anyway, the magazine itself is all on Sin Salida, with the lineup as the cover. There had to be a better picture of Yujiro available.

– Only in CMLL do you get interviews with the programming (booking) department: Juan Manuel Mar (Panico), Franco Colombo, Jose Luis Feliciano (Guerrero del Futuro) and Edgar Noriega (?)

Their solution to low attendance: more affordable prices. Eh. They’re hoping the economy will turn around to the point where they might consider bringing in people around March, but they’re requiring all people interested (ex-AAAers specifically here), that they work as hard in the gym as the guys they currently have.

The crew feels like they’ve elevated by Valiente (maybe), Mascara Dorada (sure), Dragon Rojo (yes), Sangre Azteca (yes), Misterioso (maybe) and will try for Angel de Oro, Angel de Plata, Angel Azteca Jr., Delta, Diamante and Rouge next year. Might want to try a rudo somewhere along the line there.

There are plans to send CMLL wrestlers to Africa and South America (about time), and there are tours (to unspecified locations) in April & May. They have contacted TNA, but “they have had changes in organization and structure” and they’re waiting to see what TNA wants to do. They hope Val Venis is still coming in.

Mr. Niebla explains his double secret suspension as healing up from (unnamed) injuries. Pick a body part!

La Parka Jr. challenged Dr. Wagner Jr. The Rey de Reyes main event? (Will it be funny if AAA fans cheer Wagner over Parka too?)

Amapola says she’s been thrilled with the progress she’s made in CMLL, but is thinking about taking some time away from wrestling in a couple years to become a mother.

Pierrothito says Pierroth doesn’t need a benefit show, but a show at Arena Mexico honoring him would be a great idea. You know, CMLL is going to have like 30 pointless shows between Sin Salida and Dos Leyendas; have Pierrothito defend his title in the semimain of a fan appreciation show and just do it off that. Wouldn’t take any effort.

– Wrestlers in Neza are forming some combination of a promotion/union, calling it the Federacion de Luchadors and aiming to run weekly at Arena Neza.

Villano III reminisces about Rayo de Jalisco.

In thrilling news, I actually have the 52MX/Teleformula/AYM Sports/whatever I’m forgetting here channel package. In less thrilling news, I would’ve had it two weeks ago if Comcast had given me the package I had asked. (We’re all good now.) Didn’t start getting it until this morning, so nothing from this past weekend, but expect stuff to start turning up next weekend.

A couple more lineups…

CMLL (SUN) 12/06 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) El Divino & Thunder Boy vs Katana & Titanio
2) Magnum & Saturno vs In Memoria & Rey Trueno
3) Ángel del Mal vs Palacio Negro [OCCIDENTE WELTER]
4) Mictlán & Rouge vs Arkangel de la Muerte & Nosferatu
5) Héctor Garza, Hijo del Fantasma, La Sombra vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

Angel del Mal’s first defense, nice to see they’re actually doing something with it. This is Mictlan’s first major building appearance since early October; injury? Unclear.

CMLL (THU) 12/17 Arena Xalapa [Diario de Xalapa]
1) Aguila De Plata, Caballero Ninja, Dragon De Oro, Reuno vs GMC, Guerrero Purprura, Mamba Negra, Rey Pantera Jr.
2) Crazy Man & Gore vs Caballero Negro Jr. & Rey Tiburon
3) lazzerman, Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca vs Maxmo, Rey Cometa, Stuka Jr.
4) Dr. X vs Skándalo, Jason la Maquina, Eslabon Perdido, Caballero Ninja, Rey Pantera [hair, mask]
5) La Sombra, Místico, Volador Jr. vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto [super libre]

The explanation is not totally clear, but I believe they’re doing the reverse elimination rules – pin/submit someone to escape the match, and the last one left losses whatever.

indy (FRI) 12/04 Arena Neza [khafra1997 @ box y lucha]
1) Bracito de Oro & Bracito De Plata vs Mini Mascara Ano 2000 & Pequeño Universo 2000
2) Brazo de Plata Jr., Hombre Bala Jr., Rick Flores vs Cerebro Negro, Demencia, Fantasma de la Ópera
3) Hijo de Huracan Ramire, Torero, Ultraman vs Coco Blanco, Coco Verde, Cocolores
4) Dos Caras Sr., El Dandy, Villano III vs Monsther, Pentagon, Sangre Chicana
5) el Hijo Del Anibal vs Solar I, Hijo del Cien Caras, Olímpico, Canek Jr., Enfermero Jr., Super Muñeco, Gran Markus, Huracan Ramirez, Ultramán Jr. [mask]

Guessing it’s either Enfermero or Gran Markus. Not sure it matters.

11/26, 11/29 IWRG Results (Pantera, Rayo anniversary shows)

IWRG (THU) 11/26 Arena Naucalpan [@gladiatores, Al Filo del Ring]
1) Comando Negro b Dinamita Kid
2) Eragon & Miss Gaviota b Carta Brava Jr. & Vampiro Metálico
3) Exodia, Pendulo, Ultramán Jr. b Dr. Cerebro, Gringo Loco, Oficial Fierro
4) Bushi b Avisman [IWRG LIGHT]
5) Angelico, Pantera, Super Porky b Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Oficial 911

Pantera was honored. Bushi is the new champion, and I guess this means he’s sticking around for quite a while longer. (On the other hand, it is an IWR title.) The tercera sets up a title match, improbably.

IWRG (SUN) 11/29 Arena Naucalpan [EdR, al filo del ring (video)]
1) Carta Brava b Bestia Magnifica
2) Epidemia & Fantasma de la Ópera b Eragon & Tortugillo
3) Ultramán Jr. b Bobby Lee Jr. [#1 Contenders, IWRG IC WELTER]
4) Jack & Oficial 911 b Freelance & Oficial Fierro [relevos suicidas]
5) Oficial Fierro b Freelance [hair]
6) Angelico, Rayo de Jalisco Jr., Scorpio Jr. b Oficial 911, Tóxico, Tóxico DF

No Jr. Capos, no Hijo dell Lizmark (Scorpio may be an upgrade, but I Can Not Believe Hijo del Lizmark Did Not Show Up For This Show.) Rayo’s team lost the first fall in his anniversary match, but rallied back to win two and three.

Oficial Fierro hurt an arm in the end of the relevos match, so Freelance went to work on it during their heads up match (oddly 3 falls.) Freelance took the first, got DQed for excessive violence towards the arm in the second, and got rolled up for a pin to lose, though his shoulders weren’t actually done. Freelance takes the hair cut he seemed headed to before he got hurt in early October.

Ultraman gets a shot at Fuerza Guerrera, though apparently not this upcoming week.

IWRG (THU) 12/03 Arena Naucalpan
2) Cometa De Fuego vs Dinamita Kid
3) Chico Che, Gemelo Fantastico I, Gemelo Fantastico II vs Hijo del Signo, Maldito Jr., Samoth
4) Freelance, Pantera, Zatura vs El Hijo del Diablo, Gringo Loco, Xibalba
5) Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro vs Exodia, Pendulo, Ultramán Jr. [EdM Trios]

Seems like the bar was low to earn that title shot. Pantera appears to be sticking around.

IWRG (SUN) 12/06 Arena Naucalpan
3) Bushi, Freelance, Suicida vs Cerebro Negro, Fantasma de la Ópera, Gringo Loco
4) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro vs Histeria, Psicosis, Tóxico
5) El Alebrije, Hijo del Lizmark, Super Porky vs Hijo del Cien Caras, Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Pirata Morgan

No idea if the Jr. Capos are still on, but that’s the schedule. Fourth match sure seems like a telegraphed title match. TV deal must be going well if they’re paying to bring these guys in.

Cancerbero & Raziel revealed

Here’s what Box Y Lucha has for Tuesday’s Arena Aficion lineup (sent to them by CMLL’s press department?) Check out the Astro Boy match.

Yes, they’re still not getting around to using Flash’s new name, but that’s not all. Careful readers will remember I actually posted this lineup last week, because it appeared in El Sol de Hidalgo, and they also might remember the lineup looked a little different:

Fuego in Flash’s place and – hey, how about that, Raziel & Cancerbero on the rudo side. I guess they could’ve made a change in the lineup in the last few days…but that’s quite unlikely.

Previous to this, there was a a thread in Box Y Lucha’s foro making this same connection. (Cesar had it figured out first. Of course he did.) I was doubtful then, and I’ve got to admit I was wrong.

Based on the pictures, Messala is Cancerbero and Raziel is Caligula. Now we just have to wonder if this is the start of something for them.

DTU vs CZW, Estrellita retired?

DTU (SAT) 11/28 Arena Lopez Mateos [EdR, DJ Spectro]
1) Dinastia & Talaxys b Flamita & Masivo and Disturbio & Drastick Boy
2) Paranokio b Muerte Bucanero, Dance Boy, Black Fire, Tóxico DF
3) Trauma I b Trauma II
4) Kaientai & Super Mega b Low Rider & Money Pack and Pesadilla & Radge
5) Extreme Tiger b Shiima Xion
6) Drake Younger b Aeroboy, Violento Jack [CZW HEAVY]
7) Último Gladiador b Danny Havoc, Crazy Boy

DTU went 1 and 1 versus CZW on the show. They could’ve won the rivalary, but Aeroboy and Violent Jack (and a unknown masked man wearing a Houston shirt – HMMMMMM) turned on mentor Crazy Boy to help Ultimo Gladiador win.

Extreme Tiger offered Shiima Xion a Cruiserweight title match, despite the loss. Thought this was absurd – what are the chances Tiger is going to be champ by the time they run another one of these – but then remembered there’s no cruiserweight title match at Guerra de Titanes, so there may not be another meaningful one until March. They have plenty of time!

RFC says Estrellita has quit AAA to work in politics.

Plenty of commercials this weekend for the annual Teleton for disabled children, to take place next weekend. It’s listed as the 4th and 5th, which means Friday and Saturday. Clearly, AAA is under the impression they’re not airing an episode next weekend (that’s why they’re one taping short), but there doesn’t seem to be anything blocking their way. Meanwhile, CMLL would seem to be pre-empted and happy with it, because they don’t like doing shows the night after a major show anyway. That may be why Sin Salida is 12/04, actually. Not sure what this’ll mean for the US version of Galavision yet – early listings have the AAA show on as normal, which can change – but I’m sure it’ll clear up during the week.

Cesar previews Sin Salida, compliments Zeuxis’ finisher (and has a name!), and gives out his awards for best international CMLL performance, and mini of the year. It’s still November.

Cronicas y Leyendas has a long piece on Jose Lothario.

Blog SoloLuchaX explains whatever happened to Sololuchas.com. Or at least what happened to the main author.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

SuperLuchas #342 has Mephisto/Ephesto’s tag challenge and Dark Angel winning again.

LLF (FRI) 12/04 Arena Femenil Monterrey [RFC]
1) Hija de Karonte vs Poly Star
2) La Chcala vs Lady Puma, Perla Negra, Nahomi, Dama de Hierro, Bom Bom, Baby Puma, Lady Marvilla, Lady Jaguar, Guerrera Otomi, La Bruja [Trofeo LLF 2009]
3) Fantasy vs La Bandida
4) Angelica vs La Emperadora [LLF Juvenil]
5) Princesa Sujei vs Dark Unicorn, Novia de Jason [mask]

Listing this here just because Sujei’s putting her mask on the line, not that there’s a chance she’ll lose it. On one hand, Dark Unicorn won three straight singles matches last Friday and then taunted her rivals on the way out. On the other hand, Novia de Jason is a woman in a hockey mask. Either seems likely.

11/29 AAA Lucha Libre Premier final results (Six Flags)

For reasons not actually explained, 17 was the cut off for the final.

The only match where tension between teammates is mentioned is the tercera. Wagner and Electro wrestled each other clean, but did not get along with their teammates. Wagner still pinned Electro clean. If those two were smart, they would’ve agreed to that finish before the match – Electro wasn’t getting anywhere with a win, and Mesias getting a direct win woudl’ve gotten him to that magical “17” number. (And if they had known 17 was going to be it before hand, they could’ve used that to explain why Mesias actually had a chance to get to the final.)

The Doc and Jack teamed up to work over Marco and eliminate him. The recap makes it sound as if Wagner squashed Jack from there, having plenty of time to pose between moves. Wagner got a medal for the championship.

So…AAA did this complex format, and ended up with the winner being the same guy who’s already champion and repeatedly defeating his own rival. Thank you for wasting my time.

Mexico, Perros del Mal, lineups

CMLL (FRI) 11/27 Arena Mexico [SuperLuchas, ESTO, Cesar]
1) Metálico & Starman b Durango Kid & Escorpion
2) Dr. X, Hooligan, Loco Max b Flash, Pegasso, Rey Cometa
3) Dark Angel b Amapola [lightning]
4) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto b La Sombra, Toscano, Volador Jr.
5) Naito, Shigeo Okumura, Yujiro DQ Terrible, Texano Jr., Vangelis
6) Atlantis, Mr. Niebla, Último Guerrero b Héctor Garza, Shocker, Strong Man

A night for underdogs. From the second on up, the less favored side took the win.

Semimain went 2 falls. Japanese picked up the first fall clean, then the Mexicans got DQed for either a foul or some weapons shots on Yujiro.

In the main event, the rudos were finally able to take down Strong Man. Double suplex by Atlantis & UG, and a plancha by Niebla to finish him. Mr. Niebla was dressed like Santa Claus on the way to the ring. I dunno.

Rey Cometa got his leg caught into the ropes while going for his dive and was trapped for a while. Hooligan untangled him, but Cometa did not finish the match. Flash continues to wrestle as Flash, about 10 days after the announced name change.

TDN aired 2 and 3, so 4, 5, 6, should air on Televisa.

Texano talks to Fuego en el Ring about his two big matches in one week. He also says he and Terrible were not originally in NJPW’s plans for guys to bring over, but they so impressed them in a match that they made the list.

ESTO previews the Perros del Mal shows over the two weeks.

Cronicas y Leyendas looks back at Rey Mendoza vs Ring Fujinami.

SuperLuchas has a short piece on the lucha libre shows in New York last weekend. Haven’t seen anything much on those shows.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update and Masked Republic’s Cease & Desist press release. Masked Republic’s store is open, a few days early.

CMLL (TUE) 12/01 Arena Mexico
1) Astral & Fantasy vs Pequeño Nitro & Pequeño Universo 2000
2) Dr. X, Durango Kid, Escorpion vs Guerrero Maya Jr., Sensei, Tigre Blanco
3) Ángel Azteca Jr., Ángel de Oro, Ángel de Plata vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Bronco, Virus
4) Blue Panther, Toscano, Valiente vs Averno, Dragon Rojo Jr., Mr. Niebla
5) Máscara Dorada vs Negro Casas [CMLL WELTER]

Astral gets his match. Some odd rudo sides this week. Can Dorada win two weeks in a row?

Friday’s, you know.

CMLL (SUN) 12/06 Arena Mexico
1) Metálico & Molotov vs Artillero & Súper Comando
2) Amapola, Hiroka, Mima Shimoda vs Dalis la Caribeña, Lady Apache, Marcela
3) Fabián el Gitano, Flash, Stuka Jr. vs Euforia, Pólvora, Virus
4) Metro, Toscano, Valiente vs Dragon Rojo Jr., Misterioso II, Shigeo Okumura
5) La Máscara, Máscara Dorada, Místico vs Mephisto, Terrible, Texano Jr.

Flash is still listed as Flash in DF. Maybe Euforia & Polvora can challenge for those tag titles.

Dalis is spelled “Daliz” this time on the poster.

Terrible & Texano, wrestling bald for the first time? (Probably not.)
