2009 AAA TV Schedule
Projected Air Date (#915?)
Mexico: 11/29?
US: 12/22?

Lineup may be wrong on the 3rd and 4th, because the names are near unreadable on the poster. I would also assume Nikki Roxx does not actually appear, unless she’s the mystery person in Veracruz on Friday. Also, the poster doesn’t actually mention a building; that’s the one the ran the last time here. Note the the poster also mentions Cibernetico will be appearing.

Not a lot going on here that we don’t already know – this could a taping they did today without changing anything, except they’ll probably want to do a big deal with Vampiro’s return besides just having face the Hermandad. (Why would stick a guy with back problems in with Lider, anyway? As always, Joe Lider must be the greatest guy to know, it’s the only reasonable explanation.) It doesn’t tell much about the Guerra de Titanes plans, except I’d wager on Koslov/Tiger as a title match at some point.

More interesting to scheduling nerds is this taping, and last night’s announcement of Guerra de Titanes to take place 12/11 in Madero. Doing some fuzzy math, that probably means there’s 8 tapings less this year, including both the one on Friday and the usual year ending taping in Chilpancingo. Of course, airing a repeat last week could change all of this again.

10/25 GALLI in Aurora

Better write this before I completely forget.

GALLI made their Aurora debut this past Sunday at the Sierra Restaurant. It was a nice setting – it’s a lot more of a club than a restaurant, and the ring was set up on the main dance floor. Beside the normal lights, this meant the ring was constantly light by some random colorful lights and a couple disco balls, but the sound bounced off the walls pleasantly and the building sounded loud all night. The horns they were selling helped; I think I ended up near most of them.

Since the last time I’ve been to a GALLI show, they’ve changed things around – less matches so the shows don’t go so long (5 on this one), and they’ve gone to all one fall matches except the main event. I don’t know if this was just a coincidence, but most of the trainee types and Chicago normal indy guys were not on the show, where they’d be a all over it previously.

Show started a few minutes after 6:30. I’d guess attendance to be around 100, maybe 120. Referee for all matches was LA VACA.

1) Golden Star & Chiva V b Resistencia & STIGMA – if it looks like a CHIKARA worker’s name, it probably is. Lots of horn based comedy, much STIGMA yelling “Chiva – NO!”. I have this sneaking suspicion this may have not an authentic soccer playing goat come to life, because he had yellow soccer socks on. What a fashion no-no. Anyway, it was an entertaining if not always technical sound match, both tecnicos beating both rudos with bodyscissors cradle for the win.

2) Flip Kendrick & Louis Lyndon b Amasis & Ophidian – who are the Osirian Portal, and not the Neo Solar Temple. I know this, quiz me. Moving on from my emotional scars to other jokes, someone at GALLI must’ve really enjoyed the last Dragon Gate show! This was actually a match that would’ve been better received in front of that sort of crowd than this one. Crowd still liked it, but it was US indy style match in front of an audience expecting something a little bit different.

Crowd did dig the snake luchador, and Amasis did his usual fine job of interacting with the crowd in amusing ways. When I saw Lyndon at the Dragon Gate show, I thought his faux-Bruce Lee gimmick would be great in a lucha setting, so I was disappointed when he wrestled this straight for the most part. Didn’t even wear the afro until taking picture later. Both tecnicos were super athletic, and the crowd was awed at the dive sequence.

Finish here was – well, Amasis put Lyndon in a cristo, Lyndon reversed into a bodyscissors cradle, La Vaca slapped the mat one two three, and the crowd cheered huge for the win. Except, the match kept going for about ten seconds, then the promoter asked if the match was over, and La Vaca decided it was. You think it’d be tough to convey emotion while wearing a giant snake mask (er, being a giant snake), but Ophidan (who broke up the pin late) was so clearly unhappy with that turn of events. I’m pretty sure I saw Amasis not moving at all until just before the three count, but definitely getting his shoulder up. I think La Vaca meant it to be two, but really ought to have indicated it was only 2 right away, instead of letting the crowd make the call for him. It’s tough being a referee.

The other comedy here is the DJ had no idea who’s music went with who here, so the entrances were messed up and the tecnicos celebrated to Walk Like An Egyptian. How can you actually get that one wrong? It’s right there in the name!

free suggestion no one asked for: next time lucha fans tart chanting MEXICO MEXICO at the Portal, start chanting EGYPT EGYPT right in rhythm. It makes as much sense as the Mexico/Japan stuff.

3) Guardian del Amor & Lince Dorada (w/mini Lince) b Emperador Azteca & Venom (w/Mini Vemon)

Not as much to write about here, more of a standard lucha match. The minis are the usual deal of kids dressed up like their partners. Lince, despite looking quite off in his first big run of this match, was way over with this crowd. Again, tecnicos win clean. Lince hit a SSP on Venom, Dorada did a swanton on Azteca.

The mini kids hit the ring after the match. The tried one clothesline. It did not go well. La Vaca counted that pin too anyway.

INTERMISSION. Everyone from the undercard came out to take photos. Lince seemed to have the biggest line, but the Portal were popular too. Nice of GALLI to set up the lineup so the east coast guys could all take off after this point (not even 8pm)

4) Negrotistico Fantastico & Joey Marx b Victorous Secret (Mason Conrad & Cameron Salem)

Conrad & Salem are doing the super effeminite bit. I was worried the act would seem as played out as their Backstreet Boys entrance music, but they really threw themselves into it, Salem especially, and it was fun. Fantastico & Marx’s gimmick appeared to be “The Coolest People In The World”, and you could tell the moment they started dancing to the ring. They were way over, and deserving so. ATTENTION PROMOTER OF DRAGON GATE USA: I know you’re reading this, because you’re totally a renown fan of lucha libre and people outside your company discussing what you should do. Please, please book Joey & Negrotistico (under that name, even!) on the next show. It doesn’t matter if it’s the dark match, they both deserve to have a much higher profile. Since Gringo Loco has gotten himself an actual job in lucha libre (if IWRG counts!), I think it’s I need to start relentlessly hyping these two now.

A lot of schitk early, but it was good stuff so no complains. When they got going late, it good stuff (so much that I don’t have notes for it.) Conrad & Salem were taking some big and sometimes extra pinful looking bumps. I think it was Conrad who took the huge German suplex out of the corner. I know it was Salem who took a backdrop, and hit hard on a ring that wasn’t giving all that much. He looked to be hurting a bunch the rest of the way.

Marx hit a shooting star press on Conrad for the win. And then everyone danced! HOORAY.

5) Samurai & Huracan Ramirez Jr. b Amenaza del Siglo & Chilango

Since I’ve last been to GALLI, Chilango not only grew his hair back, but has the GALLI championship and a valet. That right there is a productive summer. Between his frilly cowboy hat and gear, Amendaza del Siglo walked to the ring looking like crazy masked Mexican Randy Savage. (Didn’t really need crazy there.)

This was three falls. Liked some of the other matches better, but fell in the same ok->good range. Tecnicos won the first fall with ‘ranas on both guys. Rudos came what with a Silgo top rope ‘rana on Huracan, and Chilango spearing Samurai and putting his feet on the ropes. Siglo got Huracan’s masked untied and pulled it off between falls – I didn’t recognize him! – and they ended up doing crowd brawling. Tecnicso makes their comeback in the third fall, including Huracan sending Siglo into and on top of the bar for some revenge, then Samurai splashing Chilango with a 450 for the win.

There was a lot of post match work with Siglo and Huracan teasing a mask match, Siglo deferring. There was a lot less time spent on it, but the match was for sure set up was Samurai vs Chilango for the title, which makes enough sense. And that was it – or that’s when I left.

Show ended about 9:15, so I think they were still a little longer than they wanted, but 9:15 is still pretty good. There was no bad matches on the show, and only one unexplained intermission (between the last two matches), so I didn’t feel like my time was being wasted as much as usual. All the tecnicos won and all the matches were clean, both nice to see. I’m glad I went.

GALLI is back in Addision on Sunday, with the main event of Cameron Salem, Samurai, Negrotisico, and Joey Marx against all four Soul Touchas. That’s kinda intriguing, so I may make it out. Didn’t catch when the next Aurora show is, but I’ll mention it when I see it.

Monterrey, tag title match set up in Puebla

AAA (SUN) 10/25 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [EdR]
1) Mini Androide & Mini Rey Sagitario b Mini Hator & Mini Sky
2) Rió Bravo, Tigre Cota, Tito Santana b Angel Dorado, Chucho Mar, Enrique Vera Jr.
3) Caifan Rockero I, Rey Infernal, Simbolo 2000 b Androide, Decnnis, El Brazo
4) Laredo Kid, Pimpinela Escarlata, Súper Fly b Escoria, Espíritu, Ozz
5) Alex Koslov & Teddy Hart b Jack Evans & Rocky Romero
6) Cibernético, El Elegido, La Parka Jr. b Chessman, Kenzo Suzuki, Zorro

Last week, they did a bit where Konnan hid under a Dr. Wagner Jr. mask to attack late in the show. This week, Cibernetico (tecnico here) pinned Chessman due to a fan in a Misterio mask tripping Chessman up. The fan hit the ring, pulled off his mask, and revealed himself to be Konnan Big. Cue Konnan/Konnan Big arguement.

CMLL (MON) 10/26 Arena Puebla [R de Rudo]
1) Asturiano & Centella de Oro b Karisma & Policeman
2) Bracito de Oro, Eléctrico, Shockercito b Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Universo 2000, Pequeño Violencia
3) Dragon Rojo Jr., Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca DQ Máximo, Metro, Rouge
4) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto b Blue Panther, Máscara Dorada, Valiente
5) Ray Mendoza Jr., Terrible, Texano Jr. b La Sombra, Strong Man, Volador Jr.

R de Rudo appears to have black text on a black background, surely the rudoest move of all.

The big news is Terrible & Texano will get a chance to unify some tag team titles. The Occidente champs beat the World champs (Sombra/Volador) clean in the third fall to set up a title match next week. Elsewhere, Misterioso faked a foul, Terror Chino bought it and Maximo was DQed.

Preview of tonight’s show – still in Arena Mexico: ESTO, Ovaciones. This is just a show to do a show, though Mistico’s precense in the main event means they’re hoping for a better turnout the last week’s

SuperLuchas asks: will Blue Demon Jr. face El Hijo del Santo in a mask on the Mexican Bicentanial?. No, of course not. Maybe Demon, Santo, and six other guys.

Speaking of mask matches that won’t happen, Cronicas looks back at Fuerza & Octagon in the 90s, as well as looking at Giant Warrior ’91. If Sergio is taking a request, I’d love to see some Cien Caras stuff, preferably outside the match everyone knows. Next year’s WON HOF is a while off, but Cien’s going back on the ballot and might slip right back because his career doesn’t seem well known outside of the Rayo match.

Perros del Mal says they’re heard their TV didn’t air and are getting to the bottom of it.

A couple articles on Oro – notimex & esto – since his mass was yesterday.

The website actually promoting the Queens November lucha libre site is http://www.radiosonfm.com/. Warning, they try to play music (and fail.)

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

Edit: I’ve put the ratings data we’ve gotten recently in one place: http://bit.ly/lucharatings – will try to keep it updated.

Porky in Coliseo, big singles match next week in GDL, Rio Bravo and Rio Bravo II

CMLL (SUN) 10/25 Arena Coliseo [CMLL]
1) Inquisidor & Semental b Bengala & Trueno
2) Amapola, La Nazi, La Seductora b Estrella Mágica, Marcela, Zeuxis
3) Arkangel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Skándalo b Leono, Starman, Tony Rivera
4) Máximo, Sagrado, Valiente DQ Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca, Shigeo Okumura
5) Brazo de Plata, Héctor Garza, Shocker b Naito, Ray Mendoza Jr., Yujiro

Porky got the win in his return. Surprisingly for the Babe, doesn’t appear to be a full house (or a noticeable increase) in his return.

Tecs won semimain in straight falls when Okumura fouled Maximo.

Before I tell you what happened in the women’s match, let’s look back at Zeuxis’ alignment in her matches since starting in DF:

(bonus: in GDL, she was a tecnica)
08/25: ruda
09/22: tecnica
10/09: ruda
10/23: ruda
10/25: tecnica…or not, as she had enough of that game and just turned on her partners. Hooray for picking a side.

CMLL (SUN) 10/25 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Cuca b Nube Roja Jr.
2) Metatrón & Virgo b Nube Roja & Thunder Boy
3) Angelo & Palacio Negro b Ángel del Mal & Exterminador
4) Egipcio & Infierno DQ Asesino Negro & Leon Blanco
5) Dark Angel, Lady Apache, Lluvia b Hiroka, Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sujei
6) Místico, Strong Man, Toscano DQ Atlantis, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero

Rudos took the first fall of the main event, tecnicos the second. Strong Man was setting up to press Mistico onto Atlantis & Negro Casas for the win, but Ultimo Guerrero grabbed Mistico’s mask off for the DQ. This sets up a Mistico/Ultimo Guerrero super liibre match next week, which is a out of nowhere for that match. Who’s running against them here?

After they lost clean, the Zorra humiliated/stripped a ringside guy. Lady Apache had to come back to the ring to make the saves.

Leon Blanco, about to lose, pulled both Egipcio & Infierno’s masks.

IWRG (SUN) 10/25 Arena Naucalpan [Al Filo del Ring, DJ Spectro]
1) Guizmo b Dinamic Black
2) Diva Salvaje & Miss Gaviota b Carta Brava Jr. & Hijo del Signo
3) Chico Che & Poseidon b Avisman & Fantasma de la Ópera
4) Atsuko Emoto, Kyoko Kimura, Tomoko Nakagawa b Flor Metalica, Josseline, La Diabólica
5) Oficial 911 & Trauma I b Black Terry & Negro Navarro and Dr. Cerebro & Suicida and Oficial Fierro & Trauma II [Relevos Increíbles]

Negro Navarro & Trauma I did wrestle during the main event. Oficials did too, relucantly. Final two teams were Cerebro/Suicida and 911/T1. With the ref distracted, Suicida fouled 911, but Trauma I fouled Suicida for the win. Wonder if this means 911 will be in the tag match next Sunday, instead of Fierro.

Confusing Turn Of Events Of The Day: There are now 2 Rio Bravos. I hate lucha libre sometimes. There had been a rumor a while back that Rio Bravo (I) was unhappy in AAA, thought about leaving, but didn’t leave. According to this thread on LMdLL, Rio Bravo I changed his mind again before the Antonio Pena Memorial show, and a new guy started with the name since that show. Of course, since their match on that show was in the dark, it was hard to tell, but apparently the new guy looks different enough. Call me crazy, but I think AAA would’ve gotten by just fine if they just put another guy in the group without pretending he’s the old guy. Poder del Norte is fun, but the casual audience has no idea who these men are and would get over it really quick. (There’s the other theory that AAA doesn’t actually know they have a new Rio Bravo, which is a very hilarious up until the time someone writes a blog entry about it.)

There’s a Santo film festival in Sacramento this week.

R de Rudo has an interview with the new new NEW Pierroth, who says he’s the real son of Pierroth. He also says he’s been wrestling for 14 years, and it’s amazing that the real son of Pierroth had been wrestling 14 years under other names. Almost like he’s making it up! I think this is the Pierroth wrestling on the Tribute show this Thursday.

El Pancracio interviews Lestat, who says he got the name from the interview with a Vampire Novels. That’s a man I believe. Lestat explains he left the Guapos U bit (and lucha for a while) because of the birth of his child. That’s a strong reason. They’ve also got an interview with Ares, who mentions he’s got four brothers who are in lucha libre, though he only started as a hobby.

A note on the AAA game mentions there will be tecnico & rudo referees (we’ve only see Tirantes so far), who will affect the matches. THAT sounds about right. Demo only has Konnan, Elegido, La Parka, and Psycho Clown (though he’s listed by the wrong name in the article.). Latest trailer also has Electroshock, Chessman, and Vampiro. I’m starting to be a little concerned that we only see Psycho Clown and never ever the other Clowns. With AAA, you have to consider the possibility that they would only include one Clown. You have to consider all possibilities to be possible.

Proyeccion Luchistica writes about going to the Lucha Libre Premier tapings. Very casual audience – there was a group who got Elegido confused wtih Mistico. They both have masks with crosses on them! I think that’s it.

Cronicas y Leyendas de Lucha Libre looks back at the Canek vs Dos Caras Sr. vs Yamato in a mask match. Bet you can guess who lost. Also, Scorpio vs Perro Aguayo

Box Y Lucha #2945 has Mistico going to Japan.

SuperLuchas #337 has Konnan & Alex Koslov – they’re back covering AAA tapings for the first time in a while, which must mean things have improved in their relationship. Something to aspire to, right there.

Luchas 2000 #493 has Latin Lover with Los Perros. He finally gets to use that t-shirt! (Wait for it.) There’s also an interview with Hijo del Santo, who says he’s would not like to return to AAA.

indy (FRI) 10/30 Arena Olimpico Laguna [el siglo de torreon]
1) Camorra Jr. & Rey Fobia vs Cadete de la Atlantida I & Cadete de la Atlantida II
2) Pequeno Star & Piloto Negro vs Rocket I & Rocket II
3) Super Leopardo & Super Star vs Espanto I & Espanto II
4) Hooligan, Misterioso II, Último Guerrero vs Máscara Sagrada, Ephesto, Conflictus

Actually, that’s not the main event. They’re doing a retro deal for the main event, so it’ll actually be Super Punk, (original) Arana Cibernetica (according to the article; thought it was Super Spider) and Flanagan vs Hecatombe, Panterita del Ring and, uh, Conflictus. There has to be a story about that last one.

Porky talks return, charity show, Perros, lineups

GALLI show was fun, and I’ll write about when I get a chance. It won’t be long, don’t worry. And I keep forgetting to write up the Juarez results, so they’ll be added on Monday.

If I’m reading the comment thread right, !force majure! caused AAA to air a rerun. Wonder if this means the US will catch up 7 days more, and only be 8 days behind Mexico for the first time in years.

Super Porky’s return to CMLL got picked up in a few different places: El Siglo de Torreon (using el Unviersal’s story) and Notimex have versions, with other picking up the story. The story goes, Super Porky was in an airprot – in a wheelchair, due to a leg injury – where Paco Alonso happened to run into him. Paco saw him, got him a doctor visit (Porky had high pressure and maybe a heart infraction), then got him booked back on shows. It’s a very nice move of Paco to help someone who is down on their luck, but you can actually help him without making him a main eventer. Cesar notes the same thing: no one else was using Brazo de Plata as a top wrestler, why is CMLL?. A possible V5/Plata hair mask doesn’t really help either guy, much less CMLL. On the same note, Cesar looks at CMLL’s lackluster card for Halloween Eve.

A group of indy wrestles, like Solar, Super Astro, and el Fantasma, wrestled a free show for children in the custody of the government, due to familial abuse. Beyond their other issues, the children are all displaced this week because they’re remodeling their group home. Oddly, this was advertised as a CMLL show, despite not actually having CMLL wrestlers.

The Perros del Mal press conference by ESTO and mediotiempo (video). The only new piece of information is AAA has been sending promoters warnings not to book the ex-AAA guys under their AAA names, or they might get sued. Countersuing is mentioned.

NotiMex interviews Nikkia, who will be making her debut on Rey Bucanero’s night club show (La Bodega de Tecamac Zapata) next Friday. Her family is not so thrilled with the career move: she was forbidden from watching lucha libre, then trained in secret. When her mom found out, Nikkia was sent to the church to pray. Don’t have a full lineup, but the article mentions the women’s match is Nikkia/Marcela vs Amapola/Nazi, and Stuka & Flash will actually defend their Coliseo tag team titles vs Euforia & Skandalo. It’s a half a new team!

Ultimo Guerrero has no memory of anything after taking Strong Man’s powerbomb, and spent the night in the hospital. “Strong Man will pay!”

Lineups

IWRG (THU) 10/29 Arena Naucalpan
1) Guerrero 2000 vs Posideon
2) Mascara Magnifica & Pendulo vs Maldito Jr. & Samoa
3) Bushi, Chico Che, Suicida vs Avisman, El Hijo del Diablo, Gringo Loco
4) Trauma I, Trauma II, Ultramán Jr. vs Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro
5) Oficial 911, Oficial Fierro, Super Porky vs Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan, Tóxico

Porky apparently has the OK to work IWRG shows. The Villanos have as well, very occasionally, so I guess Porky’s being considered an independent like them. Guerrero 2000 was an opening match wrestler for AAA as late as 1999. Odds are low it’s the same one.

CMLL (SUN) 11/01 Arena Coliseo
1) Molotov & Principe vs Camorra & Cholo
2) Delta, Diamante, Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Pólvora, Puma King, Tiger Kid
3) Pegasso, Rey Cometa, Starman vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Nitro
4) Blue Panther, Máximo, Toscano vs Ephesto, Sangre Azteca, Shigeo Okumura
5) Héctor Garza, Shocker, Volador Jr. vs Averno, Terrible, Texano Jr.

Not a lot of activity here.

CMLL (SUN) 11/01 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Idolo & Nube Roja vs Exterminador & In Memoria
2) Egipcio & Samurai vs Gallo & Rafaga
3) Neutrón, Rouge, Stuka Jr. vs Dragon Rojo Jr., Misterioso II, Virus
4) La Sombra, Máscara Dorada, Místico vs Atlantis, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero

Match to be added. Second match is not billed as such, but appears to be a parajes increidble match. I guess the Dragon Rojo/Dorada match was just a one week thing (or they’ll be making changes.)

IWRG (SUN) 11/01 Arena Naucalpan
1) Mascara Magnifica & Star Boy vs Carta Brava Jr. & Hijo del Signo
2) Flor Metalica & Josseline vs La Diabólica & Lady Metal
3) Bushi, Eragon, Exodia vs Capitán Muerte, Gringo Loco, Oficial AK47
4) Dr. Cerebro & Suicida vs Oficial Fierro & Trauma I [loser advance]
5) Tinieblas Jr. vs Olímpico, Tóxico, Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Jack, Trauma II, Oficial 911, Xibalba, Fantasma de la Ópera, Bobby Lee Jr. [cage, mask]

Castle of Terror, with some names returning for the first time in a while. By vast coincidence, this is listed as a taping for Teleformula, which would be a new network. (And one that seems to be have a web feed, but not one I can get to work.)

Looks like they’re going to give the women a chance, even after the joshi girls leave. Not that anything lasts here long.

Semimain sets up a match next week (not standard practice, and a sign their TV might be lasting for more than one week.) The losing team faces off in a hair or mask match, and one side sure looks more likely than the other.

Cage match is a bit concerning, because Jack is the low man on that totem pole. On the other hand, if someone’s suddenly decided the Oficials or Traumas no longer should be masked, they can make a lot of progress in 8 days.

Lucha Libre Premier taping, Averno retains, Strong Man destroys UG again

AAA (FRI) 10/23 Teatro Condesa, DF [AAA, EdR, Notimex]
1) Decnnis, Mini Abismo Negro, Sexy Star b Jennifer Blake, Octagoncito, Rocky Romero
2) Fabi Apache & Pimpinela Escarlata b Polvo de Esterllas & Rain
3) Dr. Wagner Jr. & Jack Evans b Alex Koslov & Teddy Hart
4) Cibernético, Electroshock, Kenzo Suzuki b El Elegido, El Mesías, Marco Corleone

Pins
– Mini Abismo on Octagoncito
– Pimpi on Polvo
– Wagner on Teddy (who was bleeding from the mouth after a Jack elbow)
– Cibernetico on Elegido

CMLL (FRI) 10/23 Arena Mexico [Cesar, ESTO]
1) Estrella Mágica & Lluvia b Yezca & Zeuxis
2) Pequeño Damian 666 b Bam Bam [lightning]
3) Dragon Rojo Jr., Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca b Hijo del Fantasma, Stuka Jr., Valiente
4) Blue Panther, Héctor Garza, Sagrado DQ Naito, Shigeo Okumura, Yujiro
5) Averno b Volador Jr. [NWA MIDDLE]
6) Místico, Shocker, Strong Man b Atlantis, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero

Strong Man powerbombed Ultimo Guerrero, and again Ultimo Guerrero was strechered out.

Title match was said to be really good. Averno had to to give Volador three straight Devil’s Wings to finish him off and retain the title. Virus and Fantasma worked the corners.

No Black Warrior (only a mild surprise), with Sagrado in his spot. DQ was for Naito fouling Garza. Garza made hair match challenges, so it does look like they’re heading in that direction.

Stuka took La Mascara’s spot in the 3rd. Match ended up not being about the trios titles, but Valiente’s middleweight title. Dragon pinned him in the 1st and the 3rd to win the match, then challenged for a title shot. Valiente accepted.

Zeuxis was hurt in the opener.

Ashely Massaro, formerly of WWE, made an appearance in ring between the last couple of matches. It reads as though she was there as part of a group of Playboy centerfolds, but she did talk to CMLL about working for them. That would not be the best of ideas.

The Perros press conference wasn’t to actually announce a next taping or to talk about their TV slot (those things were mentioned as things they would be talking about at some later date), but for all the guys to claim they own the rights to their names, that they’re the originals, and would go to court to defend their names. OK.

Fuego en el Ring talks to Princesa Blanca about Las Zorras. Blanca wanted fast and agile partners, so she picked Hiroka and Sujei over others.

Cronicas y Leyendas de la Lucha Libre looks back at Bam Bam Bigelo at Toreo, in 1992, as well as Babe Face.

Lineups. Note no Black Warrior.

CMLL (TUE) 10/27 Arena Mexico
1) Delta & Trueno vs Apocalipsis & Ramstein
2) Leono, Metálico, Tony Rivera vs Calígula, Hooligan, Méssala
3) Dr. X, Skándalo, Vangelis vs Fabián el Gitano, Flash, Rouge
4) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto vs Naito, Ray Mendoza Jr., Yujiro
5) La Máscara, Místico, Volador Jr. vs Atlantis, Heavy Metal, Último Guerrero

Semimain is a rematch.

CMLL (FRI) 10/30 Arena Mexico
1) Ángel Azteca Jr., Astro Boy, Sensei vs Durango Kid, Escorpion, Semental
2) Máximo, Sagrado, Stuka Jr. vs Euforia, Pólvora, Virus
3) Valiente vs Dragon Rojo Jr. [MEX WELTER]
4) Blue Panther, Máscara Dorada, Toscano vs Misterioso II, Terrible, Texano Jr.
5) Naito, Ray Mendoza Jr., Yujiro vs Brazo de Plata, Héctor Garza, Shocker

Porky right back to the top. Remember, when he left, Porky said CMLL told him they couldn’t put on top any more because his age/weight. He’s now four years older (and probably not that much thinner.) Porky and Villano V should just do sumo spots the whole match.

That’s just a random group of people for a semimain. Why not move the title match up one? That title match could go either way with those two.
