CMLL (SUN) 10/25 Arena Coliseo [CMLL]
1) Inquisidor & Semental b Bengala & Trueno
2) Amapola, La Nazi, La Seductora b Estrella Mágica, Marcela, Zeuxis
3) Arkangel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Skándalo b Leono, Starman, Tony Rivera
4) Máximo, Sagrado, Valiente DQ Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca, Shigeo Okumura
5) Brazo de Plata, Héctor Garza, Shocker b Naito, Ray Mendoza Jr., Yujiro
Porky got the win in his return. Surprisingly for the Babe, doesn’t appear to be a full house (or a noticeable increase) in his return.
Tecs won semimain in straight falls when Okumura fouled Maximo.
Before I tell you what happened in the women’s match, let’s look back at Zeuxis’ alignment in her matches since starting in DF:
(bonus: in GDL, she was a tecnica)
08/25: ruda
09/22: tecnica
10/09: ruda
10/23: ruda
10/25: tecnica…or not, as she had enough of that game and just turned on her partners. Hooray for picking a side.
CMLL (SUN) 10/25 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Cuca b Nube Roja Jr.
2) Metatrón & Virgo b Nube Roja & Thunder Boy
3) Angelo & Palacio Negro b Ángel del Mal & Exterminador
4) Egipcio & Infierno DQ Asesino Negro & Leon Blanco
5) Dark Angel, Lady Apache, Lluvia b Hiroka, Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sujei
6) Místico, Strong Man, Toscano DQ Atlantis, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero
Rudos took the first fall of the main event, tecnicos the second. Strong Man was setting up to press Mistico onto Atlantis & Negro Casas for the win, but Ultimo Guerrero grabbed Mistico’s mask off for the DQ. This sets up a Mistico/Ultimo Guerrero super liibre match next week, which is a out of nowhere for that match. Who’s running against them here?
After they lost clean, the Zorra humiliated/stripped a ringside guy. Lady Apache had to come back to the ring to make the saves.
Leon Blanco, about to lose, pulled both Egipcio & Infierno’s masks.
IWRG (SUN) 10/25 Arena Naucalpan [Al Filo del Ring, DJ Spectro]
1) Guizmo b Dinamic Black
2) Diva Salvaje & Miss Gaviota b Carta Brava Jr. & Hijo del Signo
3) Chico Che & Poseidon b Avisman & Fantasma de la Ópera
4) Atsuko Emoto, Kyoko Kimura, Tomoko Nakagawa b Flor Metalica, Josseline, La Diabólica
5) Oficial 911 & Trauma I b Black Terry & Negro Navarro and Dr. Cerebro & Suicida and Oficial Fierro & Trauma II [Relevos Increíbles]
Negro Navarro & Trauma I did wrestle during the main event. Oficials did too, relucantly. Final two teams were Cerebro/Suicida and 911/T1. With the ref distracted, Suicida fouled 911, but Trauma I fouled Suicida for the win. Wonder if this means 911 will be in the tag match next Sunday, instead of Fierro.
Confusing Turn Of Events Of The Day: There are now 2 Rio Bravos. I hate lucha libre sometimes. There had been a rumor a while back that Rio Bravo (I) was unhappy in AAA, thought about leaving, but didn’t leave. According to this thread on LMdLL, Rio Bravo I changed his mind again before the Antonio Pena Memorial show, and a new guy started with the name since that show. Of course, since their match on that show was in the dark, it was hard to tell, but apparently the new guy looks different enough. Call me crazy, but I think AAA would’ve gotten by just fine if they just put another guy in the group without pretending he’s the old guy. Poder del Norte is fun, but the casual audience has no idea who these men are and would get over it really quick. (There’s the other theory that AAA doesn’t actually know they have a new Rio Bravo, which is a very hilarious up until the time someone writes a blog entry about it.)
There’s a Santo film festival in Sacramento this week.
R de Rudo has an interview with the new new NEW Pierroth, who says he’s the real son of Pierroth. He also says he’s been wrestling for 14 years, and it’s amazing that the real son of Pierroth had been wrestling 14 years under other names. Almost like he’s making it up! I think this is the Pierroth wrestling on the Tribute show this Thursday.
El Pancracio interviews Lestat, who says he got the name from the interview with a Vampire Novels. That’s a man I believe. Lestat explains he left the Guapos U bit (and lucha for a while) because of the birth of his child. That’s a strong reason. They’ve also got an interview with Ares, who mentions he’s got four brothers who are in lucha libre, though he only started as a hobby.
A note on the AAA game mentions there will be tecnico & rudo referees (we’ve only see Tirantes so far), who will affect the matches. THAT sounds about right. Demo only has Konnan, Elegido, La Parka, and Psycho Clown (though he’s listed by the wrong name in the article.). Latest trailer also has Electroshock, Chessman, and Vampiro. I’m starting to be a little concerned that we only see Psycho Clown and never ever the other Clowns. With AAA, you have to consider the possibility that they would only include one Clown. You have to consider all possibilities to be possible.
Proyeccion Luchistica writes about going to the Lucha Libre Premier tapings. Very casual audience – there was a group who got Elegido confused wtih Mistico. They both have masks with crosses on them! I think that’s it.
Cronicas y Leyendas de Lucha Libre looks back at the Canek vs Dos Caras Sr. vs Yamato in a mask match. Bet you can guess who lost. Also, Scorpio vs Perro Aguayo
Box Y Lucha #2945 has Mistico going to Japan.
SuperLuchas #337 has Konnan & Alex Koslov – they’re back covering AAA tapings for the first time in a while, which must mean things have improved in their relationship. Something to aspire to, right there.
Luchas 2000 #493 has Latin Lover with Los Perros. He finally gets to use that t-shirt! (Wait for it.) There’s also an interview with Hijo del Santo, who says he’s would not like to return to AAA.
indy (FRI) 10/30 Arena Olimpico Laguna [el siglo de torreon]
1) Camorra Jr. & Rey Fobia vs Cadete de la Atlantida I & Cadete de la Atlantida II
2) Pequeno Star & Piloto Negro vs Rocket I & Rocket II
3) Super Leopardo & Super Star vs Espanto I & Espanto II
4) Hooligan, Misterioso II, Último Guerrero vs Máscara Sagrada, Ephesto, Conflictus
Actually, that’s not the main event. They’re doing a retro deal for the main event, so it’ll actually be Super Punk, (original) Arana Cibernetica (according to the article; thought it was Super Spider) and Flanagan vs Hecatombe, Panterita del Ring and, uh, Conflictus. There has to be a story about that last one.
