As noted earlier, this is supposed to air on Canal 4 this Saturday, but it’s not actually listed on their schedule. They did backstage interviews between the matches, even the early ones, so the plan would seem to be for all of this to air. Doesn’t sound like they mentioned anything about a next show (though this one might last a month, if they just have an hour slot.)
You ought to have read Alan’s recap if you have not already, but the big fued pushed Park/Perro, complete with Perro Sr. dropping Park after the main event.
Perro Sr. was earlier presented with a plaque for being Perro Sr.
Tirantes worked the last three matches. Groon was an unadvertised addition, and surely not a cheap one.
Semimain saw Charly Manson run in and help out Mr. Aguila (X-Team reunited?) to set up a Aguila/Charly vs Histeria/Psicosis cage match with hair and mask on the line. Estrella de Ring got the impression that the non-Dr. Morales commentators – Leo Riano and Poncho Vera – also were to have their hairs on the line.
Riano has shown up on CMLL TV a couple times, worked at Box Y Lucha, and I believe is Morales’ son-in-law if I’m remembering right. Vera is apparently a radio DJ turned TV host and former Big Brother contestant; I just remember him because 52MX used to show commercials for Ya Veremos every single break during Guerreros del Ring.
Cassandro did a big dive off the light tower in his match. That man is crazy.
FWIW, I think y’all are looking for connections between this group and AAA that aren’t there. If the Perros could manage to co-promote with someone, they’d still be in CMLL. No one’s really that good about keeping things secret either.
In non Perros news, CMLL says Ultimo Guerrero vs Strong Man will be added for the 10/18 card. Awful quick, but I guess we’ll get a good idea of CMLL’s plans by how that one goes. Don’t think that or the cage match will really sway anyone from going to the WWE who’s undecided.
Al Filo del Ring talks to Bobby Lee Jr., who seems bitter about his time in AAA, much earlier this decade. He says his father’s character deserves respect, “even though many people do not remember my father.” He’s like to face Santo in a mask match to avenge his father’s loss. Al Filo aslo has an audio interview with Canek about his friendship with Solitario.
Box Y Lucha #2943 teases Black Warrior vs Yujiro
indy (THU) 10/15 JC Arena, Anaheim, CA
1) Annie Socia & Dinasty vs Generico & Sara del Rey
2) Dogura & Magura vs Delirious & Hallowicked
3) Kojiky & Onryo vs Shinobu & Yuko Miyamoto and Quidam & Sempai and Great Aku & Milano Collection AT and CIMA & Ha Harkuru [Great Alternative 666]
The novato (listed second?) winner gets a shot at the 666 Welterweight Title in Japan on 10/29. 666 is a tiny promotion in Japan, and I thought I’d post this lineup just on the odd chance someone follows both that and this.
The highlight of Box Y Lucha’s lineups: Rey del Ring has an opening tag team of Antrax and H1N1.
