  1. It would be nice to know why Shocker is out of the semimain event. If it were an injury, you’d think they’d mention it.

This does not bode well for JON STRONGMAN’s future in CMLL!

    Will there be a chat?

  2. I’m getting ready to head to Arena Mexico and will post thoughts when I get back. It is too bad they haven’t invented some sort of device that would allow me to post comments while I was at the show…

Here are my preshow thoughts and expectations though.
    Women-Tecnicas should win.
    Minis-Rudos should win.
Tercera-You’re right that this is a tossup. My gut is that they give Fantasma and Dorada the win here.
Especial-which gives this to the Triad. Besides they generally seem to win matches they are in that aren’t title matches.
Semi-I’m actually thinking the Japanese win here. I know they have been on a roll and that the roll has to come to an end soon. But, there are a few more shows for that to happen. And given that there is an expected outcome to the main event, this would seem to be the place for a “surprise” finish. I hope nothing serious has happened with Shocker, but I am glad to see Atlantis here. If I’m wrong (as I usual am when predicting these things) and Team Mexico wins, lets hope for a quadruple Atlantida for the victory. I still think this booking would have made more sense if you subbed in Atlantis and Panther for Shocker and Garza from the beginning, but I’m happy with the current lineup.
Main-Does Paco hate the Perros enough to have Mistico lose just so that they have to shave their heads? No.

Cubs points out that it is kind of amazing that the main eventers from last year are both off the card. I also think that Negro Casas turnaround over the course of the last year is amazing. One year ago, fans had lost interest in his tecnico run, his rudo team of Niebla and Metal was failing to catch on, and he was thrown in with Ultimo and Atlantis for a trios title victory that should have gone to Bucanero in order to get onto the anniversary card. Now, Peste Negra is the most consistent main event rudo trio in CMLL and he is the obvious choice to main event the biggest show of the year.

  3. @LLL: Hilariously, there was an ad for it airing at that time, during the concert show that was actually airing at that time.

  4. @thecubsfan: I honestly (and sadly) think tomorrow will either be all repeats or random unaired matches from previous weeks like the mini’s from last week, an older Lightning Match (Dorada vs Rojo?) and something involving Mistico/Negro.
