Perro got away with a foul on Tinieblas. Matches 2, 4, 6 traveled to Cuernavaca for an outdoor show (and were late.)

5) Rigo b Arlequin Rojo [cage, mask]

Rigo, who was a replacement for Trauma I, ended up winning Arlequin Rojo’s mask. EdR has Arlequin Rojo as Victor Manuel Montes, 20 years a luchador, from Guerrero. DJ Spectro has the name as Jose Victor Jacome. Either way, he’s been in lucha libre for a while before he got this name.

AAA talks to Silver King about his Silver Kingdom and Cibernetico on the Heroes Inmortales show.

SuperLuchas previews the Anniversary primera, segunda. Cesar previews the tercera and cuatro for tomorrow’s show. Both will have the rest later, I assume. Sombra previews his own match.

SuperLuchas also looks back at the Rayo vs Cien anniversary match. They also spot Sombra & Mistico in the background of a presidential speech.

Two articles on gets Friday’s AAA in Puebla this Friday night.

Some interesting lucha libre art here.

09/16 Arena Coliseo Gudalajara results, lineups

CMLL (WED) 09/16 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [superluchas, Fuego en el Ring]
1) El Divino & Saturno b Ebola & In Memoria
2) Angel del Mal & Drago b Angelo & Hierro
3) Dragon Rojo Jr., Sangre Azteca, Shigeo Okumura b Fabián el Gitano, Flash, Máscara Dorada
4) Mictlán b Máscara Mágica [hair]
5) Blue Panther, Shocker, Último Guerrero b Jushin Liger, Naito, Yujiro

Japan won the first, Tecnicos the second, and UG got Liger clean with the Guerrero Special. In the hair match, Magica got himself DQed for excessive violence in the first, won the second, then got small packaged in the third.

Fuego en el Ring has some quotes from Lyger from this show. Not a lot you haven’t heard, but it reads like he’s was really good with fans. Also, Liger tells Mexicans to bring their Kleenex to the anniversary show, so they have something to wipe away their tears when the Japanese win. Meanwhile, Okumura is happy to be on the anniversary show, after being hurt the last time they had big NJPW participation, and then just not being on the card since.

CMLL (SUN) 09/20 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Angel (GDL) & Saturno vs Ebola & In Memoria

4) Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara, Metro vs Dragon Rojo Jr., Nosferatu, Sangre Azteca
5) Héctor Garza, La Sombra, Shocker vs Mephisto, Terrible, Texano Jr.

First two matches have changed. Angel is new, and presumably not the ex-AAA wrestler who’s disappeared off the face of the earth.

CMLL (TUE) 09/22 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara

Still running Tuesday shows. Though if they can’t draw with Mistico…

coverage plans for tomorrow’s anniversary show

Trying to work something out here. And I’m not going to be around this morning, so this’ll fill some space.

As mentioned elsewhere, audio for tomorrow’s anniversary show will only be available for the top two matches; EstadioW is broadcasting a soccer game up until that point (and that appears to be the status quo from here on out.) While it’s possible SuperLuchas or someone else will be doing live from the arena coverage – a fine idea! – I wasn’t planning on doing a chat for the show until that last hour, if even then.

Also as previously mentioned, I had talked about going to LuchaVaVoom. Somehow, despite seeing the ad for the show many times and having an ad sitting on my desk right next to this keyboard, it didn’t click in my head that the show was not Saturday, but actually Friday. Their website says doors @ 8:30, which would mean I wouldn’t be around to do any coverage until 1ish.

Which won’t work at all. I think Negro beating Mistico is as likely as Billy beating Fabi for her hair at Verano de Escandalo (the show that was taped last month, so this would require time travel), but I still want to hear it. And the semimain’s pretty interesting finish wise; which pair of feuding people get the pin will tell a lot about upcoming priorities.

So the plan at the moment is to skip Lucha Va Voom (I guess I didn’t need to see Cuije in a sex show) and do Anniversary live results coverage, probably with a CoverItLive chat if there’s enough to chat about, Friday night. Until I remember something else I forgot. Meanwhile, everyone a stone’s throw from my place should go to Lucha Va Voom and have themselves a good time.

09/16 Arena Coliseo Results

CMLL (WED) 09/16 Arena Coliseo [Ovaciones, ESTO]
1) Rayo Tapatío I & Rayo Tapatío II b Cholo & Zayco
2) Fantasy, Shockercito, Último Dragoncito b Pequeno Nitro, Pequeño Universo 2000, Pierrothito
3) Hooligan, Loco Max, Pólvora b Angel Azteca Jr., Ángel de Oro, Angel de Plata
4) Atlantis, Hijo de Lizmark, Misterioso II b Maximo, Metro, Rouge
5) Héctor Garza, Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara b Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto [CMLL TRIOS]

Rudos jumped the tecnicos and took the first fall. Fantasma & Mascara dove in the second fall, and Garza got Averno with an inverted campana. Sequence repeated itself in the third fall, but this time Averno pinned Garza. Averno celebrated winning the title…but Garza wasn’t the captain. (Think it was La Mascara.) Mascara & Fantasma got Ephesto & Mephisto to retain the titles. Averno needs some better partners!

Rouge either had a dive go wrong or otherwise got hurt. ESTO says the rudos were much better.
