Tuesday previews, links

Ovaciones previews the new debut today. ESTO previews the new debut today. They are talking about different people. Ovaciones headlines on Seuxis (who just is a name in ESTO’s article), while ESTO talks up Diamante & Delta (who do get mentioned as new in Ovaciones.) Ovaciones mentions next week is the Tuesday Fan appreciation show, and teases Averno/Mephisto/Epshto getting a trios title shot (which would be a rematch of two months ago.) They also bill Friday’s Mictlan, Rouge, Fabian team as a new version of Los Strippers.

AAA’s lineup for Friday’s TV taping says the cage match is only loser leaves town, nothing about a #1 contender. There’s also no exotico listed in the opener; it should be Polvo.

Fuego en el Ring has interviews with Blue Panther about his title match next week, Milenio & Hair about their mask match (Milenio claims referee bias), Black Warrior (who hopes to face Yujiro sometime in the September for the hairs) and Sangre Azteca.

ExOnline has a long interview with Lourdes Grobet about her career and lucha photography.

Ras de Lona #60 has lots on Mistico in Japan, including an interview with Tiger Mask about how great Mistico is.

Segunda Caida checks out IWRG 08/06/09.

Luchas 2000 #484 has Wagner, Gronda I, Valiente and the festival of masks.

WrestlingObsever has their AAA recap.

  1. IWRG aired yesterday with the masks show. Nothing great, but glad to see that they are back to normal this week.

  2. After watching Ras de Lona, I thought of this. Has CMLL mentioned on TV that there bringing Lyger in, in September ? “They also bill Friday’s Mictlan, Rouge, Fabian team as a new version of Los Strippers.
” NOOOOOOO!! *blows brains out* With so many Lucha Apuestas being thrown around recently, what are the odds of the Anniversary’s main event being a Ruleta del Muerte type match ?

  3. Fabian is replacing Maximo on Friday? I knew their debut was coming some time but it’s like a slap in the face to every hard working member of the roster to see the third match participants and who they are below just because they don’t BELOW the CMLL bookers.

“There’s also no exotico listed in the opener; it should be Polvo.”

Is there an AAA.com verified website that can confirm this?

  4. CMLL mentioned Lyger during the one-hour show on Televisa Saturday. They ran a spot for him twice. Hopefully, luchalibremexicana will upload it on youtube.

I agree with you about the Ruleta. That’s what it sounds like they’re building towards on Ras. Black Warrior. No Limit. Garza. That was all teased.

I think Ras de Lona #60 was taped last week, edited and aired on Saturday 8/22, so they may not have known yet about the Mistico vs. Casas challenge at the time.

  5. I wish the camera would move slower on those Sunday clips so I could see the face of who is filming the CMLL HD stuff. It’s the guy in the neon green shirt/jacket at ringside. Not Alexis.

  6. @Calabcd44: Ras de Lona only gave the top two for Arena Mexico Tuesday and Friday.

Also, about the main at Anniversay, Ras showed 8/21 results from ArMex and didn’t even mention the hair/mask challenge by Mistico.

  7. Speaking of cameras, it looks like Televisa is back to taping the Friday shows. Makes since now that they go live on TDN.

  8. @LLL: *shrug* I know zero about cameras. I’m just curious who got this fantastic idea and is making it happen. The last guy who worked for CMLL and got any sort of a great idea was Antonio Pena.

  9. 3ra Caida opened with the IWRG cage match from a week or so ago. They gave it about 25 minutes with one commercial break.

  10. @Rob: I missed Saturday’s show and the replay that was listed for Sunday wasn’t on. Not sure if anything aired or not.
