AAA #896 (08/01)

taped 07/03, aired 08/01

Aerostar & Fabi Apache vs Billy Boy & Sexy Star – I think this was the better one. I have no feel for VdE being good or bad. Aerostar and Sexy Star are weird together.

Alan Stone, El Elegido, Extreme Tiger vs Cuervo, Escoria, Ozz – this felt like they were once match short, and so they gave people TV time. Hooray for them.

Killer Clown, Psycho Clown, Zombie Clown vs Alex Koslov, Rocky Romero, X-Pac – five shows and I saw the Clowns once. About right. If you stopped to think it out, it’s weird that the promos are building the feud as Alex vs X-Pac while also pointing out X-Pac is never there and is going to feud with Zorro when he does show up.

Cibernético & El Mesías vs Joe Lider & Nicho el Millionario – do you think we’ll ever see the Bizarros again? It’s a month later and they haven’t been spotted. I figure, best case of them they show up for VdE as bodies Mesias can beat up before he inevitable losses, they get one atomicos match on TV, and that’s the end of them.

Charly Manson, Dr. Wagner Jr., Jack Evans vs Chessman, Silver King, Teddy Hart – Given what happened the previous week and what the angle was planned after the match, shouldn’t they have done something where Wagner and Silver didn’t want to fight? IIRC, luchalibreaaa.com’s recap said that’s what happened here. If only they actually booked this show.
