5) Black Thunder vs Turbo [NWA MEX LIGHT]

In previewing this main event:

“Turbo won the welterweight title last year in an elimination with Skayde, Black Thunder, Carta Brava, Vampiro Metalico, Hermano Muerte II, Blanck Lancer, and Black Spirit”. This actually confuses me more – am I wrong in assuming this is the same time, and someone actually made up a Welterweight Title? (It didn’t look like a different title in IWRG.) Why would Skayde defend his title in a cibernetico? Why do I care about the NWA Mexican Lightweight Championship? I don’t know, but I spent an hour looking for missing Arena Xalapa results and didn’t find one with that match. If anyone’s figured out what’s gone on here, please clue me in.

08/08-09 Lucha Times

box

AAA-US: Galavision lists the same times as usual, even though they should be getting a half hour shorter starting this week. Why do I even bother. Brothers Wagner vs Parka/Mesias in the main, plus the Yakuza in the semimain, and an actual Super Fly appearance in the opener.

52MX: Fuerza Aerea/Flash vs Infernales/Okumura + Sangre vs Valiente trios

CMLL-MEX: listed as 2 hours, so the lightning match with Sagrado and Mephisto should make air, plus Toscano vs Naito and Mistico tries to keep his win streak going.

FSE: Euforia/Skandalo/Virus vs Flash/Metalico/Stuka and Atlantis/No Limit vs Sombra/Tag Champs

C3: minis rematch of the match you didn’t see, women’s trios, Fantasma/Mascara/Dorada vs Warrior/Lizmark/Virus, and Panther/Toscano/Volador vs Guerreros/Metal

Puebla: Guessing the segunda gets dropped, leaving us with a local tag, another CMLL Mini/local trios, Poder Mexica vs Fantasma/Dorada/Valiente and Mistico/Volador/Mascara vs Los Hijos.

Monterrey: Scorpion Negro/Tigre Cota vs Aerostar/Laredo Kid is your big AAA match.

08/17 AAA TV Lineup (Tehuacan, partial lineup)

3) Joe Lider & Nicho el Millionario vs El Elegido & Gronda
4) Billy Boy & Sexy Star vs Aerostar & Fabi Apache [street]
5) Chessman & Cibernético vs Charly Manson & Marco Corleone
6) Dr. Wagner Jr. vs El Mesías [bull terrier]

2009 AAA TV Schedule
Projected Air Date (#902)
Mexico: 08/23
US: 09/12

This is the usual odd swing taping; it’ll be taped before VdE, but air after. They’ve been treating these like there’s nothing at all, continuing to build for the show despite the time issues, so I would expect no different here.

Two matches are to be added. Since everything else here seems to be building to Verano, we’re probably missing a cruiserweight match, and either/or a Psycho Circus or Team Yakuza match.

You know, if you’re Charly Manson, why aren’t you just turning rudo? You wanted Chessman and Cibernetico back together, and now they’re together and you’re the one keeping the Hell Brothers from being united. Awful rude of him.

(That’s still not the original Gronda.)

08/10, 08/15 Puebla Lineups

CMLL (MON) 08/10 Arena Puebla
1) King Jaguar & Trueno vs Aguila Guerrera & Semental
2) Astro Boy, Black Tiger, Starman vs Fuerza Chicana, Inquisidor, Pólvora
3) Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito, Tzuki, Último Dragoncito vs Asturiano, Blue Center, Mr. Rafaga, Sauron [Relevos Increíbles]
4) Black Warrior, Dragon Rojo Jr., Sangre Azteca vs Máximo, Mictlán, Rogue
5) Héctor Garza, Hijo del Fantasma, Toscano vs Naito, Shigeo Okumura, Yujiro
6) Místico vs Averno [MEX LH]

As of this moment, the CMLL page lists this show as Mexican championship on the line, Mexico vs Japan, and a Relevos Incredible match. Problem is, they’ve got two matches where a Mexican National title could be on the line. By the way everything’s ordered, I believe it’s main event, so we’ll go with that. Relevos match is noticably CMLL Minis vs Puebla, only with rudos and tecnicos crossing over to set up…

16 man Infierno en el Ring. Kinda funny that the Puebla locals are being treated on the same level of the minis. This is the 4th Infierno en el Ring (the one last week, the January minis one in Arena Mexico, and the February women’s one) and the year’s not 2/3rds over. I guess someone figured they draw better than one on one feuds?
