08/04 Guadalajara results; 08/09, 08/11 lineups

CMLL (TUE) 08/04 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring, MT]
1) Astaroth & Thunder Boy b Fraile de la Muerte & Relampago Azul
2) Angel del Mal & Infierno b Palacio Negro & Saturno
3) Casanova & Gallo DQ Leon Blanco & Satanico
4) Mictlan & Stuka Jr. b Ephesto & Misterioso II
5) Mr. Niebla & Negro Casas b Hector Garza & Maximo

Niebla got away with a foul on Maximo the main event. In an interview, Neibla says he’s looking for Shocker’s hair, or Ultimo Guerrero’s heavyweight title. He wants guys of that age, because he feels like the younger guys are lizards and TV creations.

Mictlan defeated Misterioso and demanded at Misterioso’s title. I’ll give you a second. Yes, the Occidente Light Heavyweight Championship, undefended since last November.

This was Leon Blanco’s first match as a rudo, so of course he lost when Gallo pulled the trick of unmasking himself and throwing it to Leon to catch and be caught. Leon Blanco is demanding a singles match, which he’ll get next week.

08/09 now has Virus vs Mascara Dorada for the CMLL Super Lightweight Championship.

CMLL (TUE) 08/11 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Hierro & Meteoro vs Katana & Relampago Azul
2) Magnum & Metatron vs Drago & Infierno
3) Gallo vs Leon Blanco
4) Mictlán & Stuka Jr. vs Ephesto & Misterioso II
5) Sagrado & Shocker vs Hijo de Lizmark & Terrible

Looks like they’re a bit faster moving on the Gallo/Leon feud, but that’s surely not the end of that road.

  1. Wow, it’s been MONTHS… maybe longer… since I’ve given a shit about anything going on in Guadalajara and now within a week there are two things peaking my curiosity.

    1) Dorada vs Virus. Could be amazing.

    2) The chicken vs the lion. It’s interesting b/c everyone said the chicken was a favorite of the past booker and now with him being replaced we suddenly have the chicken tossed into a feud with the lion who is a favorite of the new booker and who the new booker has put over strong in the past. Could this be heading to a mask match where the chicken loses to prove something like ‘change is here – accept it”? Or is it just a big tease going nowhere? Or are we heading for the ultimate swerve where the aging lion loses his mask but it’s booked properly to turn the chicken rudo in the process since all the fans hate him anyways?

All I know for sure is I’m one happy happy happy lucha fan now that the current booking crew constantly brings in Mictlan for the Tuesday shows and spares us his presence on C3.

  3. @Anonymous: Well, sure, if it never makes air, Virus vs Dorada happening won’t matter too much. (At least Gallo/Leon will inform us a little a bit about the direction of the company.) But when shows like LLExpo or the mini Cibernetico from last month turn up on YouTube, there’s always a little hope.

It is amazing that with CMLL adding TV for pretty much every other show, Guadalajara managed to lose theirs.

  4. @thecubsfan: With the way GDL TV was in those final few months – GOOD FUCKING RIDDANCE! You gotta love TV shows that air replays of every spot. No really, I’m not exaggerating – EVERY SPOT AND IN SLO-MO! So you rarely got to see the finish to any match b/c you were busy watching the dives or nearfall that took place right before. The announcers were also terrible and just sang songs during the matches rather than comment on the action. One of them pretended to be a dog throughout the entire show. Seriously.

    UNO, DOS… NA-NAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then the other announcer would say “and now we start the NA-NAY show!”

And for the rest of the match all you would hear is one announcer singing and the other yelling out NA-NAY on nearfalls.

That mini’s Torneo was fun and made me sad Bam Bam is too pretty to turn rudo.
