Infierno en el Ring results, Xalapa

CMLL (FRI) 07/31 Arena Mexico [ESTO, Box Y Lucha, Ovaciones, Cesar]
1) Euforia, Skandalo, VirusFlash, Metalico, Stuka Jr.
2) Hijo del Fantasma, La Mascara, SagradoAverno, Ephesto, Mephisto
3) La Sombra, Mistico, Volador Jr.Atlantis, Mr. Niebla, Ultimo Guerrero
4) NaitoToscanoHector GarzaNegro CasasBlack WarriorTerribleTexano Jr.ShockerYujiroShigeo OkumuraBlue PantherMaximoRay Mendoza Jr.Heavy MetalMictlan [cage, hair]

Match was announced as a ten minute time limit before escape, but it turned out to be more like 5.  Order of escape: Metal, Panther, Okumura, Terrible, Maximo, Shocker, Texano Jr., Ray Mendoza, Negro Casas, Hector Garza (who may or may not have betrayed Toscano by leaving him behind with 3 rudos), Black Warrior and Yujiro. Naito won with a bridging suplex (thought it was a Tiger suplex last night, Ovaciones shows a German suplex but that might have been from earlier in the match, Cesar says Dragon, most everyone else says olympic bridging because the armlocks aren’t distingushed.)

This is Toscano’s second hair loss in about 14 months, and Naito’s first apuesta win.

In the semimain, Mistico won the first, Mistico had the second won but UG threw off his mask while in La Mistica to draw the DQ, and Mistico tossed his own mask in the third fall.

ESTO mentions the press had issues getting accredited to cover the show for some reason.  At least part of the show did air on the new Televisa Deportes network, and the explanation I heard is Televisa came to CMLL just yesterday to ask them to show the event, because there’s still not much programming on the TDN channel. CMLL still could’ve mentioned the airing on their website as soon as they knew, but they didn’t either care or didn’t want to risk one person not coming because they could watch it on TV.

Cesar says the attendance was 14-15,000, a big success for CMLL.

Two theories coming out of the main event finish
– Naito won big because they’re planning on No Limit losing before they leave
– Naito won big in CMLL becuase Mistico’s about to win big in NJPW

I think Naito over Toscano is a good idea. It’s not a very exciting or interesting idea, but it’s better than Toscano winning a big match in 2009, and that’s where I thought they were headed down the stretch last night.

Toscano losing his hair twice in two years makes it hard to take him seriously as a semimian level guy, but perhaps CMLL booking him that way means they don’t see it either, and there are changes coming.

Today’s TV show is said to be 50 minutes.

CMLL (WED) 07/29 Arena Xalapa
1) Mascarita Dorada & Shockercito ?? Pequeño Damian 666 & Pequeño Warrior
2) Lady Apache, Lluvia, Marcela ?? Amapola, Hiroka, Mima Shimoda
3) Atlantis, Naito, Yujiro b Shocker, Toscano, Volador Jr.
4) Mistico b Negro Casas [super libre]

CMLL (WED) 07/29 Arena Xalapa [E-Consulta]
1) Mascarita Dorada & Shockercito ?? Pequeño Damian 666 & Pequeño Warrior
2) Lady Apache, Lluvia, Marcela ?? Amapola, Hiroka, Mima Shimoda
3) Atlantis, Naito, Yujiro b Shocker, Toscano, Volador Jr.
4) Mistico b Negro Casas [super libre]

Mistico escaped a Negro casita and got one of his own. Atlantis snuck in a foul on Volador Jr. Mascarita Dorada was talking about an upcoming minis cage match. ??? It sounds like the lead local referee here was supposed to retire after this show, but decided to keep going. (He’s a rudo.)

LLF (FRI) 07/31 Arena Femenil de Monterrey [Estralla del Ring]
1) Lady Puma DDQ Hija de Karonte [LLF Femenil, Monterrey WOMEN]

Angelica and Perla Negra ran in and attacked both women for the double disqulifaction. Why does this make the main page? Somehow, LLF ruled that this decision meant that Lady Puma lost the LLF title she held but won the Monterrey title, while Karonte lost the Monterrey title but won the LLF title. I rate that 85% insane.

Box Y Lucha has a big interview with Electroshock, about his entire career. Definitely worth reading. Electroshock talks about thinking about retiring when CMLL told him they had nothing for Ultimatum, but visiting the AAA office with his friend Black Pentagon, and Pena offering him a job, then coming up with the Electroshock gimmick.

CMLL (TUE) 08/04 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Astaroth & Thunder Boy vs Fraile de la Muerte & Relampago Azul
2) Palacio Negro & Saturno vs Angel del Mal & Infierno
3) Casanova & Gallo vs Leon Blanco & Satanico
4) Mictlan & Stuka Jr. vs Ephesto & Misterioso II
5) Hector Garza & Maximo vs Mr. Niebla & Negro Casas

Leon Blanco is officially on the rudo side.

More lineups if/when they show up.

  1. The downside to the CMLL Hi5 being gone is once in a while you would get the Tuesday lineup first from fans who would post it + immediate live results. Now we gotta count on cmll.com again which is never a good thing.

Segunda from last night was a DQ for Averno or Mephisto yanking Fantasmas mask.

Semi-main was also a DQ which you noted.

August 14th should be the Puebla show with the cage match Dorada is refering to.

I am all for the new GDL bookers if they insist on always having Mictlan, Garza and Maximo on the shows.

  2. I missed the CMLL TV intro but it appears like they may just be repeating Mistico’s match from last week + Momentos + Carteleras and that’s that.

  3. Tues @ Arena Mex for C3:

    Panther/Volador/Toscano vs Ultimo/Atlantis/Metal

    Mascara/Fantasma/Dorada vs Lizmark Jr./Warrior/Virus

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AMAZING DIVE BY MASCARA DORADA ON MOMENTOS
    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Whoa – Momentos’ final spot was Garza’s blown dive from Puebla. Never seen that before.

Mistico/Volador/Sombra vs Niebla/Atlantis/Ultimo from last night is up next.

  5. Dorada’s dive = Remember the old TAKA dive where he went for a springboard but reversed positions and did a moonsault to the floor? Super Quebrada. Well Dorada did it while running and with no hands! Only other guy I’ve seen do that was Yoshitsune.

Did Dorada vs Rojo make FSE?

  6. @Rob: I taped FSE but haven’t had a chance to watch yet. Will probably check and see what aired during one of the comercial breaks on this show.

  7. Geez… the crowd absolutely loves Dorada. He could be one of the faces of CMLL along with Mistico if the promotion used him better. Fun match.

  8. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Zeuxis and Estrella Magica! Guess it’s just introducing new faces and not a Gran Alternativa promo.

  9. He looks like the cover of Guerreros Del Ring magazine!

Hard to tell the tecs apart if you don’t know their moveset.

  10. Aside from the hot crowd this is a pretty routine match. These guys gotta do something new…

  11. The story is that the masks were not ready and they got them just before the second fall started… ugh?

  12. I liked the tecnico masks. Not sure how I feel about Ultimo’s. Match was fine, but definitely nothing to make it feel like a special/big match for a big card.

  13. Wonder if the other two matches will pop anywhere like FSE next week. Interested in seeing the opener.

  14. Now we wait for CMLL.com to update or the new SuperLuchas to come out with the lineups.

Photos from last night would be a nice bonus.

And of course C3 tonight should ROCK if they air the right stuff, i.e. Fuerza Aerea, women’s title, Mascara Dorada and main. Bonus if they sneak the mini’s on (doubtful).

  15. SuperLuchas wins the race and boy are there some funky things going on this week…

    – TZUKI returns to DF next Sunday in a trios match opposite… ATOMO! WTF? He was last seen over a year ago and as a tecnico named Mini Maximo.

    – The greatest feud nobody knows about from Sunday shows gets moved to Arena Mexico on Friday as Metro/PEGASSO/REY COMETA meet VANGELIS/EUFORIA/NOSFERATU.

    – After forcing his uncle into the cage match and saying he wanted to shave his head… naturally Black Warrior is teaming with Blue Panther this Friday. Toscano is their third. Could be a major angle alert or just silly booking.

    – Lightning Match of the week is Sagrado/Mephisto.

    – Mini’s revancha on Tuesday. There has to be a big cage match coming up with all the bookings this crew has been getting lately and with Atomo/Bracito De Oro returning from outta nowhere.

  16. In other news, Meltzer STILL has not posted a blurb on his site regarding the CMLL main event from last night, which he usually does for apuesta main events. Perhaps another sign that the Wrestling Observer has turned into the MMA Observer.

Cadena Tres is about to start so I am going to set the realplayer to record while I finish the rest of my work.

Has the Friday night card gone up on youtube yet? Did any one of you guys record the stream this afternoon?

  17. Only the semi-main from last night aired today. Didn’t record it… don’t even know how.:/

No new CMLL is going up on the net with mario not capping any more and LuchaLibreNation seemingly on vacation for the last 3 weeks.

C3 begining with Fuerza Aerea and EL NAZI TUEREG!

  18. Can you believe Loco Max got a monkey flip spot over so much it gets a bigger pop that Cometa’s double tornillo?

  19. ~REEEEEEEEEEEEEEY COMETA! AWESOME FINISH!

Really good match! Cometa deserves to win the Gran Alternativa if he counts.

  20. hot crowd.

cadena tres show kind of sucks though. long replays. long crowd shots going into most commercial breaks.

    crowd likes amapola.

  21. Better long replays after the match than during the match ala Galavision missing a Pequeno Warrior dive today.

I dunno… I liked the Marcela/Amapola Lightning Match way more than this match.

  22. Sometimes I’m not sure if:

    a) the fans interviewed are too drunk to understand the questions they are asked.
    b) the fans interviewed can’t hear the questions b/c it’s so loud.
    c) the fans interviewed are stupid.
    d) all of the above.

  23. It doesn’t get any better when Dorada and Valiente are teaming and both are on fire! FEAR THE MULTIPLE ROPE JUMPS!

  24. LMAO @ Niebla & Felino! So awesome!

Sombra/Volador have tag team of the year locked up – right?

  25. Main was excellent!

Someone on the ByL forum says 52MX is airing the Luchas 2000 show from 7/4 right now. That was the one with the atomicos w/ Solar, Panther, Talisman, Navarro, Terry, etc.

  26. Pimpi/Estrellita vs Decnis/Sexy Star to start MTY TV. I was hoping for the Tuesday main but maybe later.

  27. Not only is this opener awful but how is it possible that in a match with these four – Estrellita is showing the LEAST amount of skin.

  28. Man if you think this is awful, you should have seen last week’s match. This was just a typical Pimpi match in ACM. Cinthia Moreno looks like she just came from the Redneck Games in Georgia.

  29. Don’t ever air closeup interviews of Estrellita minus makeup.

Purpura got new gear! Look out CMLL!

  30. It seems TDN is repeating last night show ad-nauseum, so maybe someone will upload it (Mario would be most likely). The story is that Televisa bought Estadio W to do the content for their new network so CMLL being done live by them on radio led to the tv thing, who knows if it will be permanent…

  31. Figures they’d repeat it(Infierno) and not promote it during today’s episode. But we predicted that.

    This ACM stuff is awesome.

  32. @xuisaw: Dr. Lucha sent an e-mail today saying CMLL was asked to start providing live CMLL Friday shows to the network to “test” things out. He didn’t explain further but said he would go into more detail later.
