2009 AAA TV Chart
Projected Air Date (#893)
Mexico: 06/21 – four day turnaround is as short as they’ve done it in years
US:  07/11

First TV match for/since
– Atomic Boy/8.5 months
– Yuriko/11.5 months
– Pasion Kristal/14 months

Did they have another show already scheduled and belatedly realized TripleMania was going to PPV only? The website doesn’t list anything for 6/17 besides this taping. Maybe lots of people were just getting the day off, or traveling.

Anyway, the Night Queens reunion includes Pasion Kristal (who was a tecnico teaming with Pimpi and Cassandro in his one previous appearance) and not Nygma (Bizzaros) and Jesse (ever notice Emo Extreme looks a lot like him?) Atomic Boy works as a regular sized wrestler, though I think it’s possible it may just be a one shot to fill out the numbers, since much of the rest seems the same.

Extreme Tiger is apparently a tecnico, they just forgot to actually do a turn (or I just haven’t seen it yet – maybe it was on the May 25th show? He’s been booked as a tecnico since.)

Of the actual matches, there a few noteworthy things. Three way tag match may be setting up a mixed tag title match, or it could be something else with Fabi and Sexi. It looks like the Cruiserweight title and the Tag titles will all be in one feud, just to make them both as uninteresting and useless as possible. And the singles feuds going into TripleMania will follow out of TripleMania, with little resolution until Verano. Hooray.

  1. They should throw Gran & Mari Apache in the match and make it a Four Way match or an Eight-Person Match! Could this match be the start of a rebuilding of the Mixed Tag Team/Women Divisions?

  2. When the first three matches all feature seperate appearences by Laredo Kid, Gato Eveready and Aero Star… I APRROVE IT!

Really odd to see Laredo working the opener teaming with a fill-in and a part-timer against the lowest ranked guys in the promotion. On the other hand there really appears to be no possible shuffling so it’s just a case of he was the leftover guy. At least he gets to work with his hometown buddies.

This card really reminds me of the randomness AAA used to provide. It always used to be fun when lineups would pop up and you’d see the first and second matches full of random new guys or guys returning in new gimmicks or whatnot. That’s severly lacking in current AAA as the 6/20 Orizaba lineup shows. I long for the days of a random match on a taping with Los Espantapajaros vs Jessy, Kevin and Nemesis!

Noti AAA this weekend also noted a 6/30 taping in Cuautitlan.

  3. Hmm Zorro doesn’t have a match for the TV taping. Either he’s doing a run-in in the main, or AAA already dropped what happened at Triplemania.

  4. @Calabcd44: Could be that they couldn’t decide who he’s supposed to team with yet (or didn’t want to chance it getting out earlier.)

  5. You have to figure they will show highlights of Triplemania during Noti AAA so they can just tease everyone as to where will Zorro wind up and then use the 6/20 Orizaba lineup to do an interview segment with Zorro in the ring or whatnot.

I doubt they’ll solve anything before Verano De Escandalo though…
