Guadalajara to resume, Canek complains about Dr. Wagner, IWRG notes

Guadalara shows will resume this Tuesday. They actually got the go ahead to start Wednesday, but they felt doing a show on Sunday was too quick a turnaround.

Ovaciones writes a lot about Mima Shimoda, who’s going back to Japan fro three weeks after tonight’s match.

AAA (FRI) 05/08 Auditorio Municipal Rio Grande Oaxaca [SuperLuchas #316]
1) Dark & Principe Condor b Comando Nazi & Pachuco Salvaje
2) Silver Cat I & Silver Cat II b Furia Poblana & Super Rockero [AULL TAG]
3) La Parkita, Mari Apache, Simbolo vs Epidemia, La Hechicera, Mascarita de la Muerte
4) Killer Clown, Psycho Clown, Zombie Clown b Chris Stone, Laredo Kid, Octagon

Slightly odd that the AULL tag belts are being defended in Oaxaca, on AAA spot show. But it’s the right champs, at least.

AAA PAN (SAT) 05/16 Delegacion Benito Juarez [AAA]
1) Marco Corleone & Super Fly b Cuervo & Espiritu

Both promotions seem to agree on their political party of choice. (Whoever’s paying them that day.) Marco also did some publicity for the party. AAA notes Super Fly wasn’t getting along with his Fuerza Aerea partners on other shows this weekend.

AULL (SAT) 05/16 Arena Lopez Mateos [DJ Spectro]
1) Rocky Santana & Super Astro b Black Terry & Epitafio
2) Krimen, Sepulturero I, Terry 2000 b Psicopata, Sadico, Yakuza
3) Solar I b Negro Navarro [SALVADOR AMERICAS]

Negro Navarro won this title back August, and Solar’s finally recaputured it.

The story IWRG’s angle on the Thursday’s show was the Guerrera turning on Dr. Cerebro after losing the main event. Black Terry eventually ran them off, so they’re setting up a tag match, and probably eventually a trios match for the DF titles though we still don’t know who the Guerrera will be teaming with. (Or even if they’ll be around long enough to see this thru.) Guerrera told SuperLuchas that Juvi’s lawsuit against Konnan has been held up by everything being shut down for the flu, but should be proceeding now.

SuperLuchas #316 has a big interview with Canek, complaining about Dr. Wagner Jr. never giving him a shot at the UWA Heavyweight Championship. Canek won that #1 contenders match a while back, which Wagner said he had no knowledge of and wasn’t neccesarily consulted on, plus Canek pretty much thikns that belt is his possesion. Wagner’s certiantly not losing that belt before TripleMania, as much as Canek calls him out here, so I think this is more laying the ground work for Canek to show up with his own version of the championship.

WrestlingObserver has thier AAA recap.

Segunda Caiada rates Negro Casas as #18 of 2008 in their top 100 countdown.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

IWRG (THU) 05/21 Arena Naucalpan
1) Daga vs Comando Gama
2) Eterno & Galactik vs Mixteco Jr. & Vampiro Metalico
3) Diva Salvaje, Freelance, Miss Gaviota vs Avisman, Carta Brava Jr., Xibalva
4) Capitán Muerte, Durango Kid, Negro Navarro vs Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro
5) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro vs Trauma I, Trauma II, Zatura

Durango Kid? That’s a bit random. Wonder if he was supposed to be in town for Dragon show and just is using the ticket this weekend because we still don’t know when that’s rescheduled for.

IWRG (SUN) 05/24 Arena Naucalpan
1) Eterno & Goleador vs Comando Gama & Comando Negro
2) Gemelo Fantastico I, Gemelo Fantastico II, Jack vs Azoka, Fantasma de la Opera, Tetsuya Bushi
3) Negro Navarro, Trauma I, Trauma II vs Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro
4) Angelico, Scorpio Jr., Zatura vs Fuerza Guerrera, Juventud Guerrera, Veneno

Interesting that neither the Traumas or the Gemelos seem to have gone to the rudo side, despite their big match tonight. IWRG resumes running Arena Xochimilco on 05/30.

CMLL (SUN) 05/24 Arena Coliseo
1) Molotov & Sensei vs Artillero & Super Comando
2) Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Universo 2000, Pequeño Violencia vs Bam Bam, Bracito de Oro, Fantasy
3) Leono, Pegasso, Rey Cometa vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Shigeo Okumura
4) La Mascara, La Sombra, Volador Jr. vs Heavy Metal, Lizmark Jr., Misterioso II
5) Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Ultimo Guerrero vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto

Guerreros and Avernos had more issues tonight in Arena Coliseo, and this follows that. No debuts this show, a trend breaking occasion, but Bracio de Oro is back from where ever he was.

  1. Canek vs. Wagner for the UWA title in Naucalpan or Arena Lopez Mateos is a bigger draw than many AAA spot shows.

  2. The Solar/Navarro match is already up on youtube. Well, the first two parts at least. Let’s see if they do anything different this time around besides a non-draw finish…

  3. LOL. I know this is not a political board or WWE board, but Jesse Ventura said “John McCain-Osama bin Laden election”. He meant to say Barack Obama. Come on, that’s funny.
