CMLL (FRI) 03/06 Arena Mexico [ESTO, Ovaciones]
1) Molotov & Sensei b Artillero & Super Comando
2) Amapola, Hiroka, Princesa Blanca b Dark Angel, Lluvia, Marcela
3) Angel de Plata b Tiger Kid [lightning]
4) Felino, Misterioso II, Texano Jr. DQ Maximo, Metro, Valiente
5) Terrible, Villano IV, Villano V b Atlantis, Blue Panther, Ultimo Guerrero
6) Dos Caras Jr., Hector Garza, Shocker b Black Warrior, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
Both papers seem to think the tecnico group in the main event wasn’t doing much good – ESTO says Dos seemed disinterested, ESTO notes Garza and Shocker weren’t getting along – but they still won. Judging from CMLL’s notes, the Dos stuff may be going somewhere, perhaps a rudo turn.
Villano V pinned UG clean and got the best of him for most of the match.
Texano faked a foul from Maximo in the tercera.
The women’s match was said to be one of the best on the show.
CMLL (FRI) 03/06 Arena Puebla [eric @ box y lucha]
4) Sombrita L Mascarita Dorada, Pequeño Ninja, Pequeño Olímpico, Fantasy, Eléctrico, Tzuki, Bracito de Oro, Último Dragoncito, Sauron, Pierrothito, Pequeño Warrior, Pequeño Universo 2000, Asturiano [cage, mask]
Just like the last cage match, this one came down to Pierrothito, Dorada, and the loser. This time, Pierrothito escaped and Dorada has to defend his mask. He did, beating Sombrita. Sombrita was unmasked as Javier Tutl Roldan, 20 years a wrestler, originally from Puebla.
AAA announced yesterday that Shiima Xion would be joining the group. Xion worked the DTU show at last year’s Lucha Libre Exo, so that’s probably the connection. This signing seems to disagree with the WON’s recent reporting of AAA freezing new hiring until the summer. (Though it did get a lot warmer here yesterday!) I can’t imagine more than 1% of AAA’s fanbase knows who Shiima Xion is, but according to his wikipedia page, he’s a AAA fan from way back so yay for that.
EXOnline has an interview with Mike Brown of WEC, visiting Arena Mexico.
Another preview of EAW‘s next show.
CMLL (TUE) 03/10 Arena Mexico
1) Rayo Tapatio II & Sensei vs Puma King & Tiger Kid
2) Electrico, Shockercito, Ultimo Dragoncito vs Fire, Pequeno Warrior, Pierrothito
3) Euforia, Nosferatu, Shigeo Okumura vs Flash, Pegasso, Stuka Jr.
4) Mascara Dorada, Mictlan, Sagrado vs Dragon Rojo Jr., Felino, Sangre Azteca
5) Hector Garza, Hijo del Fantasma, Volador Jr. vs Black Warrior, Lizmark Jr., Mr. Niebla
Hey, Fire. Just talking about you. No sign of Sombrita this week.
CMLL (FRI) 03/13 Arena Mexico
1) Sombra de Plata & Trueno vs Apocalipsis & Inquisidor
2) Hooligan, Loco Max, Polvora vs Angel Azteca Jr., Pegasso, Rey Cometa
3) Mascarita Dorada vs Pequeno Warrior [lightning]
4) Maximo, Metro, Sagrado vs Misterioso II, Terrible, Texano Jr.
5) Atlantis, Blue Panther, Ultimo Guerrero vs Averno, Mephisto, Villano V
6) Dos Caras Jr., Mistico, Shocker vs Heavy Metal, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
Top 2 build for next week’s big matches, thought it’s odd to be in that order. Third match builds to the GDL match, though it’s in the FOX/LATV slot and wouldn’t air until after their hair match.
CMLL (SUN) 03/15 Arena Mexico
1) Molotov & Trueno vs Caligula & Messala
2) Fabian el Gitano, Flash, Stuka Jr. vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Skandalo
3) Dark Angel, Lady Apache, Marcela vs Hiroka, Princesa Blanca, Rosa Negra
4) Hijo del Fantasma, Mictlan, Sagrado vs Ephesto, Lizmark Jr., Rey Bucanero
5) Blue Panther, Hector Garza, La Mascara vs Averno, Mephisto, Mr. Niebla
Right now, there’s no title match, but one might note everyone to have a title match is scheduled to be there, in case events this Sunday cause one to be set up. This is a pretty run of the mill show otherwise.
While you’re waiting for CMLL to come on at 3, Alfredo posted Rey Hechicero vs Valinete.

I am definately in that 99% who doesn’t know who Shiima Xion is. Never ever heard that name before.
Shiima Xion seems to fit the type of worker they want. Guy who does certain spots/moves that get over with fans. Here’s a video of his on youtube, for those not familiar with him:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgvIniP4iD4
I believe he has a youtube page as well. Not sure if its his, but there are some matches up there:
http://www.youtube.com/user/shiimaxion
I personally know Shiima – we booked him often at BDW in the Wheeling area (he is outta the Youngstown area and his base is Cleveland/Pittsburgh).
He is a smaller ripped guy with lots of flippyness. He works a gimmick of a Fillipino Super Model.
Great signing by AAA.
*sigh* When is my turn… Lol
@Alfredo: yeah he would definetly fit in with a lucha libre style of wrestling. I think Konnan is going book him in A LOT of hard core matches, which might not be the best thing for him. Not that he won’t be able to do it, but he’ll be labeled as a hard core wrestler when he can be so much more than that.
@Nikita: your turn will be when you actually become a wrestler and not pretend to be one on discussion boards.
@Daniel: In what way was that necessary or added to the conversation at all?
Wow Daniel, you’re just out to alienate every single person here aren’t you? *L*
No offense to Xion but he seems to fit the criteria of the typical U.S. guy Konnan is looking for:
1) He flips.
2) He is willing to be thrown off high places.
3) He can work gimmick matches.
So let’s be honest here… whether he has talent or not is irrelevant to why he is in Mexico.
A Dos Caras Jr. rudo turn? Does ANYONE want to try and explain that??? All of his natural opponents are already rudos and CMLL has a huge shortage of top card tecnicos. What the heck is going on here?
It’s funny to see how different people’s opinions are. ESTO said the women had the best match of the night and a live report said it was the worst match in Arena Mexico in a long time. *L* (No – it was not Henrik’s report)
Good to see Dorada finally pick up a mask win and over Sombrita. Who could have predicted that? Oh right – ME!:p Pictures look fun. Maybe TVC will show clips on the Puebla show which sadly has been M.I.A. from the internet for 2 weeks now…
“CMLL (TUE) 03/10 Arena Mexico”
MINI’S! FIRE! This match on paper looks to be tons of fun. Sorta like the 3/11/08 mini’s match that was beyond fun. There should be no doubt by now that someone in charge reads the blog and suddenly realized they hadn’t booked Fire in ages.
Tercera looks fun too. I hope they book a Flash/Stuka vs Euforia/Nosferatu Arena Coliseo Tag Title match @ Arena Mexico.
“4) Mascara Dorada, Mictlan, Sagrado vs ***DRAGON ROJO JR.***, Felino, ***SANGRE AZTECA***
5) Hector Garza, Hijo del Fantasma, Volador Jr. vs ***BLACK WARRIOR***, Lizmark Jr., Mr. Niebla”
I understand Dorada and Felino are now a regular team but surely this could have been worked around to get the Poder Mexica teaming, no?
Another case of CMLL forming a group for a few weeks and not having anything long-term planned.
“CMLL (FRI) 03/13 Arena Mexico”
Hopefully that segunda pops up on TV. Good to see Cometa/Pegasso/Azteca Jr. teaming as a new version of the Fuerza Aerea (credit: Luchas 2000) while Azteca Jr. teams with his other group on Tuesday shows (credit: CMLL press conference).
Dorada/Peq. Warrior could be something!
Dos Jr. rudo turn continues with the official turn coming at Homenaje Dos Leyendas?
Looks like another change in what airs on TV.
CMLL TV is airing the Arena Mex top 3.
Wow, cool finisher by the new Metro. But he’s still beyond green.
>all of his natural opponents are already rudos
Marco vs Dos.
Bleh. They can’t run tecnico vs tecnico between those two amongst the 100+ rudo vs rudo matches they book every year?
Puebla show was said (and looks) to have sold out. I guess we’ll be seeing more cage matches throughout the year…
Fun Momentos. All clips of the undercard stuff.
Funny you say that – I just found out the show I’m wrestling on tonight is probably going to sellout once the gate opens at 7..
Check out my myspace so you can see pics of me wrestling over the last eleven years.
Oh shit Minis on LATV. Technicos vs Tecnicos.
Perhaps CMLL wants to become a complete rudo promotion. As far as I remember, the latest ESTO or Ovaciones reports already mentioned that Dos Caras was booed in his matches against Ultimo Guerrero. Maybe they only try to react to the behavior of the audience. Or Dos Caras will become a friday-only rudo to fit against Ultimo Guerreros friday-only tecnico gimmick. ;-)
Since that Shiima Xion guy is nearly as famous as El Padrino, he would fit into the AAA mystery wrestler formula for big events. Now we have El Zorros mystery partner at Rey de Reyes!
Good episode of FSE tonight. The mini’s match was ok thanks to Dorada being awesome. I still don’t see how Fantasy is a mini when he looks about the same hight as Mascara Dorada.
The main was real fun. The rudos brought the comedy. Especially Negro casas as he tried to mimic Marco. CMLL is smart by keeping Felino with Dorada. For a second straight week, he makes him look good.
C3 is top 4 for anyone interested.
Here are some details for those of you interested in Shiima going to Mexico…
For what it is worth, Shiima has a one-way ticket to Mexico starting on May 1. I guess he isnt on any kind of contract or anything, hes there until he is sent home.
He will be making about $150 US a show – dunno if that is TV, spot shows, or both, nor how many dates he is getting a week. For all he knows right now, he could be going down and only working once a week…
Shiima is 100% Filipino, and is the first generation born in the US – thus he speaks Spanish.
He is probably about 5’8″, and is weighing in at a jacked 200lbs right now.
*My* speculation is that he is either coming in to work with the tag division with the ladder matches and stuff, or hes coming in to get tossed around by bigger guys and put thru tables.
Btw, judging by this new graphic on TNA’s website it looks like Cassandro’s TNA name will be “Andromeda”. The “O” in the picture has both the male and female symbols while “andromeda polifolia” is a hermafrodite heath of sorts…The “unique superstar coming to TNA” has to be Cassandro.
