Projected Air Date (#876)
Mexico: 02/22
US: 03/14

Opener saw Aerostar climb up the lighting ring, climb across the lighting rig, and dive off for a plancha. It was that sort of show.

Electro beat Super Fly again. Wooo.

X-Pac and Zorro went to a double countout (two in two weeks?) with Konnan, Teddy Hart, Jack Evans, Black Abyss and Vampiro all getting involved.

Chessman came to his match with Mesias, limping on a crutch and wearing a neckbrace. Konnan also showed up to explain (Chessman’s a mute?) that Chessman was still hurt from last week. Naturally, Mesias turned to face Konnan and Chessman hit him from behind with the cane. Chessman is fine enough, it seems. They brawled thru the crowd again, then back to the ring where Chessman won (!?!?). The Legion beat up Mesias after the match, with Vampiro running out to make the save. The AAA recap hypes up Vampiro’s crowd reaction and teases his return, but he’s still unable to fight back without losing his commissionership.

Latin pinned Black Abyss in the main event, but the Legion ran out again to beat everyone up. Mesias ran out for the save, but failed, so Charly Manson made his return to run off the rudos.

Charly returns for real on Wednesday.

Zumbido seems to have acquired a Guapito v2.0. Didn’t help. Crazy Star shouldn’t be here if she’s in CMLL, but I’m thinking I should completely ignore that Ras de Lona segment now.

5) Dos Caras Jr.Último Guerrero

Dos wins (Ovaciones says third fall with a press slam into a German suplex, ESTO says powerbomb), so he should get a heavyweight title shot. Except, there’s none listed. The idea seems to be that they need to wait until after UG defends the title tonight in Puebla against Hector Garza and see who the champion is after that before deciding anything.

ESTO is critical of Dos’ perfomance, saying he was too busy waving for reaction than fighting. There defintely was a part of the crowd behind UG.

Sombra hurt his rightshoulder on a dive in the semifinal and left the match. The rudos actually won three straight falls, just getting DQed for excessive violence in the second.

Rudos were DQed in the second for taking La Mascara’s mask. Vangelis replaced Heavy Metal.

AAA has put up half it’s TV recap, but is missing everything past X-Pac/Zorro. Looks like Chessman is still alive, running in the main event to attack Charly and perhaps allying with the Legion. I’ll do the full post when the full results come out.

AAA also advertises the big cover story for Dos de Tres – Charly Manson getting 30,000 pieces of fan mail while he was out. Still can’t buy the magazine on the website.

Abismo Negro told Notimex that AAA and WWE are the best two promotions in the world, and all they need to do now is unify their championships. This post was an hour late because I just started daydreaming about the possibilities of Edge as AAA World Mega Champion. Abismo’s actual purpose for this interview was to talk about a spot show he’s promoting in Ixtapaluca on 03/08.
