2009 AAA TV Chart
Projected Air Date (#877)
Mexico: 03/01
US: 03/21

Edit: The local poster (via a box y lucha thread and Rob) reveals all the surprises:

  • Super Crazy returns to team with his cousin as the new Mexican Power. Everything’s come full circle, not the least of which is Super Crazy coming back to his first major promotion – he was the original Histeria.
  • Silver King faces La Parka Jr., which is not much of a surprise given the angle at the last taping. Either they planned to release the lineup on AAA’s website much earlier or we’re supposed to believe the turn isn’t set yet (but will be after Sunday)
  • Super Fly is Laredo’s partner, which is not a big surprise.

Original: The big news is Charly’s return. He didn’t look all that close to ready on the stuff that’s aired on US TV. Hopefully he got a lot better in the last couple months, but one would expect Charly to return as soon as he can get paid for coming back, not waiting until he’s 100%

Subtitle for La Parka Jr.’s match is listed as “insanity”, so that’ll be nice. I’m guessing the opponent will be the other AAA traitor Konnan teased last week.

Kinda odd that the tag match with the team that can’t win the tag team titles is way higher up the card than the match with the tag team champions. (I’m complaining about the tag team titles, not the position.) There have been hints of a new Mexican Power, and I’d presume that’s what we’re getting here. Easiest in-house option remains Extreme Tiger, since they like him enough to still use him and he’s without a group.

Abismo Negro vs Black Abyss feels like it should be setting up a mask/mask match at Rey de Reyes, but both are in the tournament. (Which, BTW, hasn’t updated since Wednesday.) I don’t really see the point in stretching it out to TripleMania, because Abismo’s no sure thing to make it that long. Perhaps this is the blow off to this issue for the time being. Or maybe Black Abyss will actually win a match in this feud?

I have no guesses at Laredo’s partner. Or why it’s just not Aerostar or Super Fly.

2009 is the year of Poder Norte!

Next taping is in Cuernavaca. Last year, AAA said they were running Reina de Reinas in February and that’s the last taping this year. There’s been no setup or mention it besides that one mention on TV, but maybe thee’ll do a six way match or something.

Previews: ESTO, Ovaciones

Maximo is in for Misterioso, which is an odd fit for the match. Terrible replaces Ephesto according to ESTO. Stuka’s already a replacement for Shocker.

Way too early for a title change. This should be the new champions just getting another big win.

RFC says AAA tapes in ACM on 03/22

WagnerMania has been busy ripping videos: Mil, Dos Sr., Canek and V5 talking about Saturday’s UWE/el Toreo show, Sombra about his recent wins and the main event of the recent Wagner shows.

ESPNDeportes has columns about Indepedent Dr. Wagner (hopefully will not run into Relationship Dr. Wagner) and the UWE 8 Man Cage match on Saturday. By the way, they finally set up an RSS feed for this blog.

One more UWE-related article: SuperLuchas looks back at the 25th Anniversary of Francisco Flores’ promoting career, 25 years ago.

Ohtani’s Jacket looks at Gran Hamada vs Centurion Negro from 1982. I think I missed his Ringo/Atlantis/Ultraman vs Satanico/Masakre/MS-1 post from earlier this week.

CMLL (MON) 02/16 Arena Puebla
1) Asturiano & Centella de Oro vs Artillero & Super Comando
2) Dark Angel, Lady Apache, Marcela vs Hiroka, Mima Shimoda, Princesa Blanca

5) La Sombra, Shocker, Volador Jr. vs Black Warrior, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
6) Ultimo Guerrero vs Hector Garza [CMLL HEAVY]

This is a big show, an Arena Mexico lineup basically, just two weeks after the fan appreciation show. I have no idea why or what they’re doing here. I assume Mr. Niebla being advertised means he’s out of the hospital, but one can never be sure.

FELIX (SUN) 02/15 Salon the Wild Wild West, El Paso, TX

Hector Garza in El Paso! Hmmm.
