12/27: Tijuana (w/Perros), AOL, Mexico, lineups

AAA (THU) 12/25 Auditorio de Tijuana [SuperLuchas]
2) Black Abyss, Histeria, Psicosis II b Arandu, Extreme Tiger, TJ Boy
3) Joe Lider & Nicho el Millionario b Jack Evans & Teddy Hart [AAA TAG]
4) Alex Koslov, Rocky Romero, X-Pac b Chuck Palumbo, Damian 666, Konnan

Yep, that’s Damian 666 in the main event. The post has video, with most of the main event. Could mean something is going down with the Perros and AAA. Could mean Rellik just couldn’t get there and they found a local replacement. I dunno.

indy (THU) 12/25 Arena Olimpico Laguna de Gomez Palacio [El Siglo de Torreon]
1) Mini Maximo b Pentagoncito
2) Guerrero Inca b Semental
3) Euforia, Misterioso II, Mr. Guerrero b Angel de Oro, Hooligan, Scriba Jr.
4) Atlantis, Dragon Rojo Jr., Ephesto b Blue Panther, Stuka Jr., Ultimo Guerrero

In the end, Ultimo Guerrero could not stand being a tecnico any longer and turned on his partner. Same deal with Hooligan in the semimain.

CMLL (FRI) 12/26 Arena Mexico [Ovaciones, ESTO]
1) Puma King & Tiger Kid b Sensei & Trueno
2) Hiroka, Mima Shimoda, Princesa Sujei b Lady Apache, Marcela, Princesa Blanca
3) Skandalo b Angel de Oro [lightning]
4) Máscara Púrpura, Stuka Jr., Valiente b Satánico, Shigeo Okumura, Virus
5) Black Warrior, Dragon Rojo Jr., Sangre Azteca b Dos Caras Jr., Hijo del Fantasma, Sagrado
6) Averno, Terrible, Texano Jr. b La Máscara, Místico, Volador Jr.

Averno got away with a foul in third fall for the main event win. Sangre Azteca led his new team to victory the first time out. ESTO says the lightning match went 7 minutes.

Tecnicas lost in straight falls, and CMLL.com thinks it’s Marcela who’s turning ruda. Huh.

ESTO said the turnout was good, but the crowd was quiet until the main event.

Box Y Lucha posted articles…

AAA Notes Column says Arturo Rivera was in a bad car accident coming back from the last TV taping. Hope he’s doing better.
Lluvia talks about why she got into lucha libre (she’s Herodes’ niece and had been training for only 14 months before debuting)
Villano 3 talking about touring the pacific Coast

El Hijo del Santo talks about the global economic crisis.

CMLL (TUE) 12/30 Arena Mexico
1) Sombra de Plata & Trueno vs Calígula & Méssala
2) Lady Apache, Lluvia, Yezca vs La Seductora, Medussa, Princesa Sujei
3) Bam Bam, Mascarita Dorada, Último Dragoncito vs Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Halloween, Pequeño Warrior
4) Dos Caras Jr., Sagrado, Valiente vs Black Warrior, Dragon Rojo Jr., Sangre Azteca
5) Volador Jr. vs Último Guerrero

Main event is non-title.

CMLL (FRI) 01/02 Arena Mexico
1) Camorra & Policeman vs Astro Boy & Tony Rivera
2) Marcela, Princesa Blanca, Sahori vs Amapola, Hiroka, La Nazi
3) Ángel Azteca Jr. vs Puma King [lightning]
4) Máximo, Mictlán, Stuka Jr. vs Euforia, Nosferatu, Shigeo Okumura
5) Dragon Rojo Jr., Negro Casas, Sangre Azteca vs La Máscara, Mascara Dorada, Sagrado
6) La Sombra, Shocker, Volador Jr. vs Black Warrior, Terrible, Texano Jr.

All you need to ever know about CMLL groups is summed up right here – show #4 of Poder Mexica has them all on the card but not teaming up. What does being a group in CMLL actually mean?

Poor Sahori. Doomed!

  1. @MaX:

Nope, he’s the guy who was originally thought to be Felino’s son along with Tiger Kid but is now believed to be some other relative. He worked his way up to CMLL via IWRG.

Decent enough cards next week. Was raging when i first saw that womens match in the one spot i eagerly await, but then i saw a potentially awesome minis match in the spot above it, so that’s ok

It would be kinda cool if CMLL went with that friday night format of six matches with an undercard lightning match every week – so long as they included the long term undercarders and not just the generation 75. There’s nothing to stop them running tag lightning matches in that terrcera spot either.

Time for a late MOTY on Tuesday too. Still waiting on my Volador/Averno match, but this will do. It will surely be better than that disappointing Coliseo match between them earlier in the year.

After last weeks C3 shambles, they fucking owe us a 5 match show with the Airforce v Guillereros tonight!!!

When does FSE air this weekend so we can find out if they went with Flash/Polvora?

Didn’t Lluvia and Yesca start on opposing teams? What does being a tecnico/rudo mean in CMLL these days?

Not expecting a blowaway match from the mini’s here since there will probably be a lot of mask ripping and brawling to set up the cage match.

Main event certainly came outta nowhere.

Police Man! He’s good but seems rather bland for CMLL. Wouldn’t expect him to ever escape opening matches.

If FSE is airing Lightning Matches when the segunda goes two falls, should I be praying here?

Much like the awful fourth match I’m watching currently, that looks like another mess. Poor Stuka.

Top matches make no sense. Didn’t Shocker want to restart the Guapos a few weeks ago? At least this sets up Sombra in the main. Would like to see him vs Texanito in a singles match.

  3. Just the top two and the tercera has Pegasso/Angel De Oro/Angel De Plata (I assume they mean Sombra De Plata) vs Polvora/Skandalo/???.

  4. BTW, on the Puebla show from 12 days ago El Legionario almost broke his neck on one of the wildest tope suicidas I’ve seen in a long time.

  5. Wow, hope that tercera isn’t the match to be cut. If it’s Sombra de Plata, it probably will be though.

Haha, another submission by *FEAR!!* :)

  6. I think the tercera from this past Monday is getting the axe so that tercera should be okay to air.

Fantasma’s kid doing the bearhug to Dragon Rojo Jr. and his way too tiny tights was pretty damn gay. And they followed it up with a posedown and pulling down tights in the second fall so this has been quite the gay match. Or as the ByL foristas would say… ‘estillo AAA’.

  7. Does any have the date/town/arena for the debut of Rocky Romero in AAA.

(the night he showed up as Grey Shadow)

  8. Volador Jr. going all out would certainly be something special since he hasn’t done that since 2006.:)

  9. LMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAO

“Los Hijos Del Averno” won stable of the year.

Yes, the group that was created 3 weeks ago won stable of the year.:)

  10. That match was tons of fun! The tecnicos were amazing. Volador almost had 4 dives there.;) Loved the counter when he went for the fourth. They covered for the nearly blown Spanish Fly pretty well. The finishing sequence was incredible and the pop for the rudos winning was about as loud as when Panther lost his mask.

    This rudo trio is gold.

  11. No Cometa/Pegasso on C3. Shameful. Pegasso looked SPECTACULAR on the Puebla show from two weeks ago. Better than anything I’ve seen from him in AAA since his debut appearences in 2000. Semental was also pretty good.

  12. Pequeno Universo is like a generic indy mini that is just a small dude who doesn’t have any athletic ability. How does he have a job?

Shockercito WANTS to die. I’m sure of this.

Pequeno Warrior is funny as shit.

  13. He caught a huge Volador running somersault plancha then murdered him by powerbombing his spine against the ringpost.

I’ve saw him do it with Wagners apron dive somersault before, but this was much more spectacular – it was over the top rope, volador was flying at him like a bullet, and he plucked him out of the air like a fly – Ultimo never even needed to take a step backwards to adjust and absorb the force. it was awesome.

I’m looking forward to this singles match :)

  14. Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez. Reminds me of the days when Ultimo Guerrero was a MACHINE! Maybe he’s starting to get back to that form.

  15. @Rob: I’d imagine that lots of segundas are going two falls in the future, for the sake of airing the lightning matches.

  16. Btw, apparently this is from AVN.com:

TIJUANA – Trina Michaels made her debut for Mexico’s Triple A wrestling federation in front of a sold-out crowd during the annual Lucha Libre Christmas show at the Auditorio de Tijuana.

Now billed as Katrina, the former porn actress was featured in the pageant as the evil manager of former WWE/WCW stars Konnan, Teddy Hart, Jack Evans, Chuck Polumbo and Damien 666. Clips of the match can be found online at dailymotion.com.
