CMLL

IWRG (SUN) 11/30 Arena Naucalpan [the gladiatores]
1) Shuriken b Imperio Azteca
2) Gemelo Fantastico I & Gemelo Fantastico II b King Drako & Nemesis (IWRG)
3) Judas el Traidor , Masada, Tetsuda b Goleador, Jack, Pendulo
4) Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro b Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro [super libre]
5) Pendulo, Scorpio Jr., Tinieblas Jr. DQ Head Hunter I, Máscara Año 2000, Veneno

Pendulo replaced Dr. Wagner Jr. That’as a bit of a drop off. MascaraY2K distracted one ref, but got caught fouling Scorpio by the other ref for the DQ. That same referee, Reyes Rosas, refused to leave the ring in the semimain to allow that match to take place under super libre rules (ref outside the ring, only leaning in to count pinfalls) and had to be replaced by a different referee. There’s an angle here, I just don’t get it.

A couple more articles trickling out from yesterday’s stuff

Averno says he doesn’t want to be considered the leader of the group that’s named after him. Don’t think that’s going to work. Ovaciones says he IS the leader, so this is not clear. What is worth knowing is they expect to add more members and never to know defeat. I guess losing by DQ is not knowing defeat?

Mictlan says he’s happy to get a big win, despite coming in with an injury suffered on Friday. He’s up for whatever CMLL has for him next, though he’d like to demask Dragon Rojo someday.

Loco Max was sad he lost to the ‘dancer’, but also that he hurt his ribs during the match.

(SuperLuchas) The NWA is not officially recognizing Sunday’s NWA Welterweight title match between Sombra and Ephesto. Which is the same as it’s been since at least 1991.

Leading up to Lucha Libre London, wrestling101.com has a really good interview with Mascarita Sagrada. He was not a fan of lucha libre growing up, he was a fan of martial arts and just happened to see some people practicing wrestling when he was working out one day and decided to try it as a hobby. Lots of talk about the Juniors Division, other Mascarita Sagradas and his career.

SuperLuchas looks back at the Villanos vs the Hawaiian Beasts.

The Gladiatores also has an interview with Abismo Negro and many from the Perros press conference. They also profile the Tampicools (Okuzono & Black Master)

Seattle’s the Stranger has a very positive review of the The World of Lucha Libre book.

There’s a lucha libre show in Chile next Sunday. They drew 3,000 for their premiere show, and tickets are going from $2000 to $6000 Chilean pesos. (That’s $3 to $9US)

Mr. Reyes posted photos of DTU wrestlers visiting a children’s hospital for the teleton.

CMLL (SUN) 12/07 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara

2) Virgo vs Samurai, Thunder Boy, Quazar, Neon, Milenio, Azazel, Relampago Azul [mask]
3) Hijo del Fantasma, La Mascara, Marco Corelone vs Lizmark Jr., Terrible, Texano Jr.
4) Shocker vs Mr. Niebla

Shuffled around to do the singles main event like it’s 1999.

CMLL (MON) 12/08 Arena Puebla
1) Blue Center, Legionario, SWAT vs Aguila Guerrera, Ares, Rafaga
2) Bam Bam, Nino de Acero, Pequeno Ninja vs Pequeño Black Warrior, Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Violencia
3) Máximo, Stuka Jr., Valiente vs Black Warrior, Dragon Rojo Jr., Sangre Azteca
4) Dos Caras Jr., Marco Corelone, Toscano vs Atlantis, Mr. Niebla, Último Guerrero
5) Místico vs Negro Casas [CMLL WELTER]

This will be Mistico’s first defense of this title this year. Just made it.

CMLL (TUE) 12/09 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Plata vs Fraile de la Muerte
2) Silueta vs Magnifica
3) Nube Roja vs Exterminador
4) Magnum vs Infierno
5) Hijo del Fantasma & Valiente vs Misterioso II & Sangre Azteca
6) Terrible & Texano Jr. vs Héctor Garza & Volador Jr.

The big news here is there’s a local women’s match that isn’t Silueta vs Athena.

  1. I actually have a confession to make…

When I saw that lineup for Puebla I was DISAPOINTED the mini’s were included. I know… I know.:( It’s just that means the locals will likely be cut which is a shame b/c the opener last week was INCREDIBLE. Totally blew me away with the insane dives and Karisma trying to kill himself more than 5 times in one match while also murdering the tecnicos with his offense. Why did CMLL let him go?

Hopefully they keep things short and have a 5 match TV broadcast.

  2. I’m kinda hoping they cut the minis instead of the locals since I can’t see them cutting any of the last three.

  3. Is that you Carp?

Remember a few weeks back (or even a month) they aired two locals matches and cut the main so there’s always hope.
