This show was all about the pushing the top matches for GdT. Which is good, since this was the show were they announced them, and the next show is GdT.

Early in the show, Konnan announced Zorro vs Mesias for the vacant AAA World Mega title, with Mesias forced to join the Legion if he loses. (Becuase you want someone part of a group who will hate being there and screw you over whenever he gets a chance.) Mesias singlehandly won his tag team match later on, despite Chessman turning on him again. (Ex Prez) Joaquin Roldan showed up after to suck up to Mesias, promise him the full backing of AAA, and make Charly Manson the special ref for the title match. Konnan came out, wondered how Roldan could be making these stips if he’s not in power anymore. (No Vampiro on this show – this stip would make sense if he was giving it.) Konnan banned Roldan from showing up, but didn’t undo the guest referee stip or anything

The middle matches and the main event were about building up the six way cage match. Like the title match, it hadn’t been announced on TV yet and was treated like a surprise despite being announced on the website. After Elegido beat Pirata Morgan in the bull terrier match (despite Tirantes Sr. frequently helping Pirata), those two continued to fight their way thru the Brazo/Brazo match. This brought out Electroshock and (of course) Konnan, who beat up the tecnicos and announced the Super Fly/Electrshock/Porky/Brazo/Morgan/Elegido cage mask/hair match. Electro killed Super Fly in the main event, of course.

Super Porky was dressed in his Brazo de Plata gear, including mask.

Tirantes Sr was busy on the night, helping the Dark Family beat the Air Force as well. (Those guys who were just mentioned as hurt wrestled anyway.) After the main event, the Dark Family ran to the ring with Yo Soy AAA shirts, only to rip them off to reveal Foreign Legion shirts. Lots more losing to Mesias to come for those guys.

Kenzo Suzuki interfered in the minis match to help his guy. Wooo.

Guerra de Titantes is next Saturday.

  1. TOMBSTONE.

    OFF THE TOP.

    THROUGH A TABLE.

Unless my memory is off – even ECW never had to do that much overkill and if they did I’m pretty sure the guy who got hit with the move wasn’t wrestling 6 days later as in Super Fly’s case.

  2. @ Rob:

Rhino used to piledrive people through tables on the outside of the ring from the top rope on occassion and always hit pledrivers through tables set up in the ring. remember he did it to Sandman’s wife too. it is a bit of overkill, but AAA isnt creative enough right now to come up with something that hasnt been done in the US promotions that they are ripping everything from. its like Konnan just sits and watches american wrestling from the late 90s and then decides to use it in AAA and act like its fresh.

  3. If only he could cut a promo things would be different!

The best part of all this is you just KNOW it’s all building to Super Fly getting a fluke big win over Electro that nobody will remember the next day and he’ll be banished to the undercard again while certain people in the company say “the fans just didn’t care.” Well duh… he’s been treated like a jobber for months now.

Actually it’d be better if Konnan laid down for Super Fly and then killed him post-match so Konnan can go around claiming he did what was best for the company and put a young guy over. Just like Scott Hall and Kevin Nash!

  4. @ Rob:

dont worry, i’m sure that’ll happen soon. he’s just not up to that year with his tapes yet.

  5. @Bruce: Konnan is actually ripping off something current from the US. It was just a few weeks ago that Christian Cage lost a match forcing him to join the Main Event Moffia.

  6. @ Daniel:

but he didnt join. it was a way for them to right him off tv as he’s most likely jumping back to WWE. and thats an old stip anyway. losing a match and being forced to join a stable has been to done before. i vaguely remember that occuring with someone during the whole LWO thing in WCW. wasnt it Rey that was forced to join the stable after he lost a match and they used to beat him up when he didnt where the shirt? it was someone.

  7. Yeah they had that angle with Rey but it was another absolutely only in WCW type angle where he would always cost them matches but they’d still want him to come to ringside with them and finally when the group got killed one-by-one, Rey finally decided he was a true member and wanted to keep wearing the lWo shirt… the same shirt he threw down and spat on for over a month.
