11/15: Mexico, Lineups

CMLL (FRI) 11/14 Arena Mexico [ESTO, SuperLuchas, Ovaciones, SoloLuchas]
1) Molotov & Sensei DQ Puma King & Tiger Kid
2) Bam Bam, Mascarita Dorada, Pequeño Olímpico DQ Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito
3) La Máscara, Mascara Dorada, Valiente b Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca, Virus
4) Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero b Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., Volador Jr.
5) Héctor Garza, Marco Corelone, Místico b Averno, Mephisto, Toscano

Toscano screwed up in the third fall, got beat down by his partners. They had to bury him on his first name back, you see. Crowd was more against Mistico than was for him; the big complain with Mistico is that he’s superhuman, and they’ve been booking him as superhuman since he got back. Averno & Mephisto still want that tag team title match.

BTW, Marco Corelone said he’s NOT jumping to AAA. Again. In just a stellar moment for journalism, SoloLuchas has just pulled the article from their website, with no explanation or correction. Way to go.

Pierrothito ripped off Olimpico’s mask for the second fall DQ. Puma King fouled Sensei for that DQ.

Dunno if Garza did it this week, but he’s been doing Alex Koslov’s stop sign to set up taking off his shirt and blowing a kiss. Over on SuperLuchas, Alex volunteers to teach Hector all his Russian dances, if he wants to do them.

AAA held (and reported) a press conference for today’s taping. Reads like Silver King may be in Super Fly’s spot.

The next Todos x el Todos tour in Spain will have tickets from 25 to 55 Euros ($31 US to $70US, 413 to 908 Mexican Pesos).

NoroEste has a column ranting about the untrustworthyness of local promoters. In Tampico, the local promoter there insists on the local wrestlers wrestling with AAA or CMLL stars in the semimain or main event, figuring they’ll never get better if they don’t face better people. Another ex-wrestler in the area says the wrestlers aren’t good because the schools aren’t good, and they need to unionize to get more work.

SuperLuchas looks back at El Solitario vs Tiger Jeet Singh and was at the Solar Wrestling Clothes store.

On LuchaWorld, Robert looks back at 2006’s CMLL Anniversary show.

CMLL (MON) 11/17 Arena Puebla
1) Black Tiger & Lestat vs Fuerza Chicana & Siki Ozama
2) Crazy Star, India Sioux, Marcela vs Amapola, Estrella Magica, Princesa Sujei
3) Mascara Dorada, Máscara Púrpura, Stuka Jr. vs Felino, Nitro, Shigeo Okumura
4) Héctor Garza, Shocker, Volador Jr. vs Heavy Metal, Negro Casas, Toscano
5) Blue Panther vs Mr. Niebla

CMLL (TUE) 11/18 Arena Mexico
1) Metálico & Starman vs Apocalipsis & Pólvora
2) Dark Angel, Goddess, India Sioux vs Medussa, Mima Shimoda, Rosa Negra
3) Axxel, Leono, Mictlán vs Loco Max, Vangelis, Virus
4) Mascara Dorada, Máscara Púrpura, Valiente vs Black Warrior, Dragon Rojo Jr., Misterioso II
5) Blue Panther, Héctor Garza, Volador Jr. vs Atlantis, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

CMLL (FRI) 11/21 Arena Mexico
1) Angel Azteca & Angel de Oro vs Artillero & Súper Comando
2) Flash, Hijo del Faraon, Stuka Jr. vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Skandalo
3) Euforia, Nosferatu, Sangre Azteca vs Hijo del Fantasma, La Sombra, Máximo
4) Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Toscano vs Héctor Garza, Marco Corelone, Mascara Dorada
5) Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., Místico vs Averno, Mephisto, Terrible

One last reminder that CMLL won’t be on until CadenaTres’ show. They did a far better job of advertising the switch this time.

  1. Good to hear that Marco Corleone is not going to AAA. He’s doing great in CMLL and if he went to AAA right now he’d either be put in the legion or Degenereation Mex. In either case he’s be just another henchman for the group, which would be a waste of his talents.

So Koslov doens’t like Hector ripping off his stuff. Serves him right for making a stupid career move, ie leaving CMLL to be in X-Pac’s shadow.

  2. CMLL (TUE) 11/18 Arena Mexico
    1) Metálico & Starman vs Apocalipsis & Pólvora

    – Apocalipsis doesn’t wrestle too often it seems.

    2) Dark Angel, Goddess, India Sioux vs Medussa, Mima Shimoda, Rosa Negra

    – Bleh.

    3) Axxel, Leono, Mictlán vs Loco Max, Vangelis, Virus

    – … Wow.

    4) Mascara Dorada, Máscara Púrpura, Valiente vs Black Warrior, Dragon Rojo Jr., Misterioso II

    – Could be fun depending on who comes to work. Purpura’s first big semi-main in a while so it’ll be interesting to see if actually tries to get noticed somehow and tries to latch onto Dorada and his newfound push. I’m guessing no.

    5) Blue Panther, Héctor Garza, Volador Jr. vs Atlantis, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

    – Atlantis gonna get turned on?

    CMLL (FRI) 11/21 Arena Mexico
    1) Angel Azteca & Angel de Oro vs Artillero & Súper Comando

    – Looks good to me.

    2) Flash, Hijo del Faraon, Stuka Jr. vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Skandalo

    – Wouldn’t this make more sense in Arena Coliseo?

    3) Euforia, Nosferatu, Sangre Azteca vs Hijo del Fantasma, La Sombra, Máximo

    – Niiiiiiiiiiiiice. Sombra/Euforia work great together and I’m sure will have something cool planned for their first Arena Mexico meeting in ages. In fact this would be the highest Euforia/Nosferatu have been on a Friday show since February. Looking forward to how this turns out.

    4) Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Toscano vs Héctor Garza, Marco Corelone, Mascara Dorada

    – They aren’t wasting any time with Dorada.:/ It’ll be interesting to see how he works here with three rudos who aren’t gonna eat his offense like Virus, Misterioso, Sangre Azteca, Averno, Mephisto and Efesto in previous weeks. This will be his first real test. Disapointed to see Toscano back as a rudo. Figured they turned him tecnico last night which would at least be somewhat fresh.

    5) Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., Místico vs Averno, Mephisto, Terrible

    – Same old, same old. Where are they heading going into the year-end show? Dos Jr. vs Terrible? Mistico vs Averno?

  3. The most depressing point of the weekend is watching the first hour of AAA, realizing it was all bad, and knowing it can not possibly be better in hour 2. I need to start drinking or something.

  4. This match is proving why big rudos vs little tecnicos works every time and makes matches 15,000,000 times more enjoyable.

  5. FUCKING AWESOME MATCH.

Outside of that one botched headscissors, Tzuki was off the charts. What a finish!

Pequeno Halloween is gonna die if he keeps taking that out of control bump to the floor.

No way tmrw’s match can top this. NO WAY.

  6. Very interesting that Dragon Rojo didn’t get involved at all during the tecnico showcase. That’s definitely his weakness so good to see them avoiding putting him in a situation he looks bad in.

Way to do nothing once again, Purpura!

  7. Look at this lineup:

    IWRG (SUN) 11/02 Arena Naucalpan
    1) Epidemia b Halcon 2000
    2) Fenix & Miss Gaviota b Avisman & King Drako
    3) Eragon, Gemelo Fantastico II, Gemelo Fatastico I b Dr. Cerebro, Heavy Boy, Nemesis IWRG
    4) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro b Aeroman, Freelance, Zatura
    5) Fuerza Guerrera, Toxico AAA, Veneno b Black Terry, Capitán Muerte, Xibalba
    6) Arlequin L Mascara Ano 2000 Jr., Fantasma de la Ópera, Multifacético, el Hijo Del Anibal, Hijo del Cien Caras, Ultramán Jr., Jack, Pendulo, el Hijo del Pierroth [mask, cage]

With that awesome fourth match, the third match that had a feud and the fifth math that started a feud – the TV Azteca show aired the main event and … THE OPENER. WTF? Why can’t we get random FSE shows like that?

(BTW, it was Imperio Azteca in the opener, not Epidemia.)

  8. That Wagner/Atlantis match was the shits. It’s 3am here. What an f’n waste of time!

The minis match was sweet though. I *heart* Fire~!

  9. OH NO.

THE WORLD MUST COME TO A STOP NOW.

    Mistico
    Sombra
    Mascara Dorada

    vs

    Averno
    Mephisto
    Efesto

    Next Sunday.

  10. @thecubsfan: Jack Evans when discussing racism against the Foreign Legion in Mexico said, “We’re the Martin Luther Kings of Mexico”.

I’m watching the show now. Same as last week in terms of pacing. Only difference is El Eligido’s ring intro was shown, which makes sense.

Rivera was funny when he pointed out that Alebrije is stealing Hart’s moves.

  11. @LLL: Memo to Jack Evans: “No”.

I’m also surprised Toscano didn’t turn tecnico and MistiCena, er, Mistico is not a rudo by now.

  12. CMLL would be screwed if Mistico turned Rudo. Plus it would be stupid as hell.

If at the Next taping Jack Evans and Teddy Hart stand in the entrance way with a black glove on and do the Bad News Allen salute, Man that would be something else. I’d probably laugh my ass off but then feel guilty about it.

  13. I was doing my site re-design while AAA was on and I can honestly say I had more fun doing that than watching lucha today.

I kind of laughed when I noticed how many times Konnan was on the show.

  14. The best part is when Konnan tells Dave/Bryan – “I don’t book AAA, I only book my own angles.”

So what is Konnan’s current angle?

He has taken control of AAA. :)

Does anyone else see the obvious contradiction here? Basically EVERY MATCH and EVERY WRESTLER now revolves around Konnan so he has to have input in every decision so “his angle” makes sense.

Why he’s never been called on that is beyond me…

Of course also having control over his own angles means he will never lose or be made to look silly. Not exactly things you want your top rudo to be immune from b/c how else do you make the tecnicos look good and get cheered by the fans?

In his F4D interview he seemed to make it pretty clear that there are two factions trying to control AAA…

Ciber/Octagon/Parka’s group that was around from 97-04 and saw AAA could survive quite well doing their usual show. This group wants to keep themselves on top and in the spotlight but has no problem letting the rest of the roster do whatever they want and have their own storylines.

Konnan/Vampiro’s tag team that thinks they are AAA’s saviours and without them the promotion would fold in a heartbeat. This tag team wants total control of the promotion from opening match to main event and wants everything centered around themselves.

Then you have Mesias who is willing to join any group that lets him keep his top spot.

  15. Did Konnan ever explain in his recent F4W interview why he (especially since he is claiming he only books his own angles) is a part of the Pena’s ashes angle? To me, it is looking like that the only reason Konnan was upset over WWE’s exploitation of Eddie Guerrero is because they never asked him to be a part of it.

  16. @RyanM2K4: I mentioned that a couple of days ago and I agree with what you’re saying because I recall Konnan being offended over that issue. Its a sleazy angle and I’m sure they’re all (Konnan and the Roldan/Peña family) justifying it by saying Antonio Peña would have been ok with the angle, but we don’t know that for certain since he’s dead.

  17. When you consider the shit these people do in their personal lives, these angles really aren’t tasteless. Truth be told, Pena probably would be happy with the angle.

  18. Rellik was horrible. Bringing back Espectro or Ultratumba to feud with Parka would’ve been better.

Hart’s girlfriend has a very pretty face. Hart and Evans may be ROH guys, but they are very major league. Speaking of ROH, I got the PPV last night, and it was awesome. Quite a few guys I’d like to see go from ROH to AAA.

  19. Teddy Hart: Major league? HAHAHAHAHA. He had his chance and blew it, multiple times.

And isn’t Espectro about 80 now? I’m sure Rellik(That’s killer spelled backwards) was horrible but at least he can walk.

  20. @Alfredo: Good point. The WWE also justified the Eddie Guerrerero stuff by saying that Eddie would have been ok with it. So it does make Konnan hypicritical by doing this current Pena angle.

  21. I’m using the wwitv dot com site. it is showing, but it’s kinda slideshow-like at times

    Minis is defo airing :)

  22. I guess the AAA promoter in Juarez thought CMLL started now, b/c he just ran an ad of 44 for a show at the Poliforum. 2×1 for kids in general admission. So it’s not just CMLL that needs to run promotions to draw.

  23. Yes and no – just caught the end of the segunda caida, and saw the whole of the 3rd.

Looked pretty good. Shockercito was pretty impressive, which i’m quite pleased about as he has gotten waaay lost in that division. And Tzuki messed up a headscissors spot, he’s almost as bad as Fabian! :p

From what i saw, Pequeno Ninja done nothing after looking a million bucks the last time i saw him in the cibernetico. and it;s a shame i couldn’t see a bit more of Fire because he ain’t gonnae be too far off my top 5 in the Tapatio awards this year :)

I watched the tercera which was average, and couldn’t be bothered with the top 2 as i know how they always go on non-Friday shows. Thats why i get so pissed off when the women get the Tuesday segunda spots, because it’s only really that and the tercera to an extent that i’m interested in!

And nice innovative plancha spot just there by Dorada even if it never came off as smooth as he would have liked :)

  24. @Henrik: Awww, you should see the full match some time. I would rate it as high as that Shockercito, Electrico, Celestial trios match from March!

~MASCARITA! Flip plancha into a frankensteiner!

BTW, I got the feed to work better by stopping and re-starting it.

  25. Aw, the AAA feed is down. I wanted to see the atomicos with Aero Star/Laredo Kid opposite Chessman.

  26. OH SHIT ~VALIENTE! That was a fucking sweet finish! Glad to see the ropes are still friends with him.:)

Poor Dorada blew his first big spot.:( But the second spot was nice. I feel awful for Dorada b/c his spots are so complicated you can’t really shit on him for missing them but at the same time you can’t keep botching one spot a week.

So who called La Mascara doing that headscissors followed by a tope suicida?:P

  27. Well that rudo domination was just incredible. Can we do that double stomp to the floor on La Mascara in every match he is involved in pretty please?

  28. Heading out the door, but just noticed AAA results are up. You’ll be shocked and amazed about who just returned.

  29. Yeah. Konnan vs Vamp as a headline feud in 2008. I honestly might have to stop watching AAA since their faces will be on TV every 2 seconds now.

That was a damn good third fall until La Mascara blew the finish.

  30. What did you think of the Sangre Azteca promo after the match? That guy really is main event material.

  31. Semi-main was above average.

The workrate seems up on this show, much like last week and the week before. It’s a step in the right direction.

  32. You would have thought Pequeno Olimpico would be all out to impress in such a rare Friday segunda spot considering he hasn’t been around much recently. Instead he took the night off.

    Pretty good match overall though.
