11/15: Mexico, Lineups

CMLL (FRI) 11/14 Arena Mexico [ESTO, SuperLuchas, Ovaciones, SoloLuchas]
1) Molotov & Sensei DQ Puma King & Tiger Kid
2) Bam Bam, Mascarita Dorada, Pequeño Olímpico DQ Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito
3) La Máscara, Mascara Dorada, Valiente b Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca, Virus
4) Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero b Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., Volador Jr.
5) Héctor Garza, Marco Corelone, Místico b Averno, Mephisto, Toscano

Toscano screwed up in the third fall, got beat down by his partners. They had to bury him on his first name back, you see. Crowd was more against Mistico than was for him; the big complain with Mistico is that he’s superhuman, and they’ve been booking him as superhuman since he got back. Averno & Mephisto still want that tag team title match.

BTW, Marco Corelone said he’s NOT jumping to AAA. Again. In just a stellar moment for journalism, SoloLuchas has just pulled the article from their website, with no explanation or correction. Way to go.

Pierrothito ripped off Olimpico’s mask for the second fall DQ. Puma King fouled Sensei for that DQ.

Dunno if Garza did it this week, but he’s been doing Alex Koslov’s stop sign to set up taking off his shirt and blowing a kiss. Over on SuperLuchas, Alex volunteers to teach Hector all his Russian dances, if he wants to do them.

AAA held (and reported) a press conference for today’s taping. Reads like Silver King may be in Super Fly’s spot.

The next Todos x el Todos tour in Spain will have tickets from 25 to 55 Euros ($31 US to $70US, 413 to 908 Mexican Pesos).

NoroEste has a column ranting about the untrustworthyness of local promoters. In Tampico, the local promoter there insists on the local wrestlers wrestling with AAA or CMLL stars in the semimain or main event, figuring they’ll never get better if they don’t face better people. Another ex-wrestler in the area says the wrestlers aren’t good because the schools aren’t good, and they need to unionize to get more work.

SuperLuchas looks back at El Solitario vs Tiger Jeet Singh and was at the Solar Wrestling Clothes store.

On LuchaWorld, Robert looks back at 2006’s CMLL Anniversary show.

CMLL (MON) 11/17 Arena Puebla

4) Mascara Dorada, Máscara Púrpura, Valiente vs Black Warrior, Dragon Rojo Jr., Misterioso II
5) Blue Panther, Héctor Garza, Volador Jr. vs Atlantis, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

CMLL (FRI) 11/21 Arena Mexico
1) Angel Azteca & Angel de Oro vs Artillero & Súper Comando
2) Flash, Hijo del Faraon, Stuka Jr. vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Skandalo
3) Euforia, Nosferatu, Sangre Azteca vs Hijo del Fantasma, La Sombra, Máximo
4) Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Toscano vs Héctor Garza, Marco Corelone, Mascara Dorada
5) Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., Místico vs Averno, Mephisto, Terrible

One last reminder that CMLL won’t be on until CadenaTres’ show. They did a far better job of advertising the switch this time.

  1. Mistico almost hooked his right foot on the dive, which would’ve been a disaster.

Wonder what will be on Accion if CMLL and AAA don’t air on Televisa this weekend? I’ll die if it’s all WWE.

  2. Good main event and excellent show overall. Workrate was really up. Mistico was rockin’ in that main.

More 4 match C3 shows please!

  3. @Rob: That’s what I’ve been saying, but Chui thinks Televisa is better for CMLL. I think it’s time to just make the move to C3 permanently.

Toscano vs. Averno Hair vs. Mask Year-End Show?

  4. Televisa is better for CMLL but C3 is better for us smarks that wanna see unedited full matches and the prized second match of the show.

CMLL wouldn’t do another Toscano hair loss so soon.

  5. Looked like a good show, hopefully be up on Torrents soon. What’s the best quality stream for this show – the official Cadena Tres site? Or somewhere else? I’m wondering if they all link to the same one?

    Thanks for any help.

  6. I like the WMP version. It’s slightly lower quality than the RealPlayer feeds but is far more stable and doesn’t eat up my computer’s resources.

There are two seperate RealPlayer links – both linked to above that are better quality but the more you watch, the more the quality goes down. So you gotta keep restarting the feed between matches or even between falls if it gets really bad. The other advantage to watching those feeds is they are the official C3 channel whereas the WMP link is a local Juarez channel that gets the C3 feed so they do their own commercials and will sometimes come back late so you miss the first 20-30 seconds of a fall.

  7. I no longer believe Televisa is better for CMLL. Not any more. A few years ago, I would’ve agreed.

  8. More people have Televisa than Cadena Tres I would think. How exactly is that better for CMLL to be on Cadena Tres?

  9. Glad you asked. While more people have Televisa on a national basis, just as many in Mexico City have it b/c Cadena Tres is a free/over-the-air station there. And Mexico City is where Arena Mexico and Coliseo are, so it should not hurt business in CMLL home town.

Televisa’s long commercial breaks and time changes have probably hurt CMLL’s ratings over the years. C3 usually sticks to a timeslot, and that’s important. And the commercial breaks are short, which also helps.

C3 has a 5,000,000w transmitter, making their signal available to all of the 8,000,000 HH’s in the Mexico City market.

  10. What about people that sometimes go to Coliseo/Mexico that aren’t from Mexico city? How would they see CMLL?

  11. @Tim: If you go to the Cadena Tres website, it shows you where C3 can be seen all over the country. It’s on almost every cable system. If you’re going to ArMex or Coli, and you live outside the coverage area of Ch. 28’s 5,000,000w transmitter, you’re driving a minimum of 2 hours.

  12. OH COME ON! FSE aired the Arena Mex segunda again this week? They only skipped the week with Dorada/Tzuki teaming? Fuck you!

  13. I’m trying to stick to my rule about not replying to your retarded messages any more but seriously… did you just say little people aren’t human?

Might wanna spend that welfare cheque on some sort of education instead of more food and cable to watch your soaps, Timmy.

Of all people to make that sort of comment… you. Someone who wouldn’t be here today if people of different sizes and shapes weren’t treated as humans. Tsk tsk.

  14. Finally. Yeah that was pretty stupid of me, oh well.

And for the record I don’t have cable. The welfare check isn’t big enough.

  15. BTW, it turns out I was vastly confused on Blue Demon Jr. running a show today (he did, but not the Dandy one, which is now TBD)

  16. So FSE was a segunda ArMex and Semi Coliseo tonight. Sorry, the participants in the segunda don’t need their own intros. They can come out as a team.

Coliseo appeared to use the ring announcers voice for intros this week. Unless it was a lip-sync job.

Anyone know how MVS can get away with airing music like Madonna during the intros?
