This an old taping, which just aired this week. I’m just putting it to fill in the gap on the index. You can probably skip this post.

AAA #849 (09/06)
I watched Alas de Oro at least 4 times due to various boring reasons. It’s not a match you need to watch four times and even one was plenty. It’s disappointing compared to last year – there was no big dive train spot, there was not a lot of time before the eliminations, and the n hey were as rapid fire as possible. The match didn’t have any time to get anyone over except the finalists, and even that didn’t work so well when Aerostar blew his finish.
I’m sure they were heading to Jack/Aerostar even if Aerostar hits his move (I think Jack kicked out and has been taught to not end matches on blown moves, but it might have been part of the angle), but at least they used the controversy instead of pretending it didn’t happen.
5 matches in 90 minutes, all clipped up more than even usual AAA standards, was really absurd. The only match that had an any storyline impact was the minis tournament, Alas de Oro, and the main event (presumably, they ran the mystery man angle with a plan to resolve at one point, though they’ve clearly forgotten it now. They should’ve just saved the others for another week instead of repeating Alas de Oro.
10/06: Coliseo, GDL, AAA notes, Mistico having more surgery?
CMLL (SUN) 10/05 Arena Coliseo [ovaciones]
1) Metálico & Tigre Blanco b Arkangel & Hooligan
2) Fabián el Gitano, Leono, Stuka Jr. b Ephesto, Vangelis, Virus
3) Damián 666, Mephisto, Mr. Águila b Grey Shadow, Sagrado, Volador Jr.
4) Loco Max b Tony Rivera [hair]
5) Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., Dr. Wagner Jr. b Atlantis, Black Warrior, Mr. Niebla
Loco Max beating Tony for Loco Max’s first hair is an upset, but not as a big surprise. They tipped off the finish with the note posted on CMLL.com announcing this match. Even if they didn’t, Loco’s lost his hair plenty but always to young guys who they’re trying to get more attention. Rivera’s long stop being a young guy. This seems just so next time Loco is in a hair match (which probably won’t be that long), they can point out he hasn’t lost every single one of them.
I believe Shadow listed as working is a typo on Ovaciones part, but might as well for confirmation. I suppose he could’ve finished up quick there and booked it to AAA just to say he was in both places on the same night (and then would they show it on FSE? Yea, probably.)
SuperLuchas has more on the Rocky Romero jump. Konnan had been talking to him about it for a bit, and Romero jumped because he didn’t feel CMLL was supporting him.
CMLL (SUN) 10/05 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [MT]
5) Lizmark Jr. DQ Marco Corelone
Match was worked around a knee injury to Corelone’s left knee. Sounded more like a story point for the match (and a run thru for the hair match) and not a injury that’ll take Corelone out, but it’s not totally clear. Corelone snuck in a fall with a small package, but Lizmark got him with a half crab in the third fall. Marco gave, gave some more, and Lizmark wasn’t interested in letting go, so Corelone won by DQ.
Box Y Lucha has also sorts of fun teasers for this week’s edition (#2891)
– Mistico is apparently heading back to the operation room, which sounds like he’s going to be out more
– Dos says he’s NOT vetoed from CMLL, which conflicts with what he just said two days ago.
– The Goddess interview makes it sound like she’s already lost her mask (a week early?)
– Paco Alonso is quoted, saying he doesn’t care about WWE TV coming in.
LuchandoLibre has clips of the NWA Mexico show. SuperLuchas updates injuries on the show: Super Muneco is visiting a chiropractor. Blue Demon is in a neck brace, and he and Dandy have a meeting at the DF Box Y Lucha commission tomorrow. SoloLuchas now has it’s notes on the semimain and main and
Al Filo del Ring talks to TVC Deportes about their lucha coverage (they signed a 2 year contract with WWE for RAW, and a 5 year contract with CMLL to show Arena Puebla) and Groon XXX (who says both AAA and CMLL want him and are just waiting for him to say yes, but he wants to wait six more months.) If WWE was willing to pay him what he’s worth and put him top, Groon says he’d go there too.
El Sol de Cuautla previews Tuesday’s shows. I’ll do that…Tuesday.

Projected Air Date (#8570
Mexico: 10/12
US: 11/02
There were multiple, colliding big angles. X-Pac opened the show, attempt to introduce D-Generataion-X, only to be interrupted by Konnan. Konnan wanted to know why X-Pac returned and turned on the Legion, a reasonable question, but never got the answer as they both were interrupted by Prez Roldan on the big screen. (Yes, this is WWE RAW.) Roldan wanted to let Konnan he was paying him back for breaking his car’s windows a few weeks by doing the same to Konnan’s. And that was that for the opening segment, but Konnan wasn’t going to let this show end without getting revenge. So, after the main event (where Parka beat Jack with a powerbomb), Konnan stole the urn of Antonio Pena’s ashes and ran away. SoloLuchas confirms this really did happen.
The semimain was listed as an atomicos, but turned into a trios with Espiritu just interfering whenever (a lot like TripleMania, actually.) Rudso won with a distracted ref and a foul.
Stones (“Los Sexy Boys”) beat Hermandad despite chairs, tables and ladders coming into play. After the match, X-Pac came back out to introduce the new member of his group – Grey Shadow! Who unmasked to reveal himself as Rocky Romero.
Pirata Sr. stole Elegido’s mask and rolled him up for the win.
The Billy/Gato/whoever trio hit a snag against the Guapos. Decnnis beat Gato clean.
It didn’t make sense for Mini Abismo to be left out of the minis match, since the only feud is him and Mini Charly. So Mini Abismo replaced Jerrito, but his team still lost when Mini Charly beat Mini Kenzo.
Diario Cambio article says 10,000 people showed up.
Next taping is Queretaro on Friday. Pena Memorial show isn’t until the Friday after, so Konnan may have those ashes for a while.
AAA’s Big Surprise is Rocky Romero
No fooling! I have 500 “so, he’s not in CMLL!” jokes to make here, but it’s confusing enough as it is. Rocky had been wrestling as Grey Shadow, and as apparently is no longer wrestling as Grey Shadow. Though, unless they make that clear to the AAA audience, it’s just going to look like a random foreigner from years past showing up in AAA and not a big jump – and even if they did, Grey Shadow’s been relegated to a minor role. He’s joining X-Pac’s D-Generation-Mex group.
(Sorry, Shocker!)
AAA picking up a ROH guy does fit their mood! I can not even begin to fathom the matches, though I think this is for sure a better move for Rocky’s spot. Guess he won’t be getting Sangre Azteca’s mask!
I’m crushed the Alex/Shadow team isn’t happening. They were so fun on FSE.
How does that NJPW G1 Tag Team work now, with Negro probably not too thirlled with Rocky? I can’t see an AAA and CMLL guy teaming up in Japan.
Does Rocky still have the CMLL Super Lightweight Belt? HMMMMM.
10/05: IWRG, NWA Mexico, lineups
In Ovaciones, Arutro Rivera says Perro Jr. and Mistico are being pressured to come back ASAP, but aren’t medically cleared (and may want to wait until they’re actually healed.)
AAA (SUN) 09/28 Chapa de Mota, EdM [Super Luchas #284]
1) Angel Enmascarado & Heavy Boy b Black Misterio & Chico Malo Jr.
2) La Rebelde b Mayam
3) Reyna Herodes & Sauxis b Princesa Zareth & Yeska
4) Casandro & Estrellita Magica vs Lady Sensacion & Mujer Demente
5) Atomic Boy & Octagoncito b Mini Charly Manson & Mini Chessman
6) Abismo Negro & El Elegido b Cuervo & Escoria
Abismo Negro here looks liks Black Abyss. Well, I mean, he was wearing Black Abyss’s gear.
IWRG (THU) 10/02 Arena Naucalpan [Super Luchas #284]
1) Eragon b Epidemia
2) Pendulo & Terror Negro b Judas el Traidor & Sauron
3) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro b Freelance, Pegaso Extreme, Rey Cometa
4) el Hijo Del Anibal, Latino, Multifacético b Black Terry, el Hijo del Pierroth, Ghost Rider
5) Shocker & Zumbido b Fuerza Guerrera & Toscano
So they did team up at least once! Never mind then. Scorpio Jr. made an appearance to mention his benefit show here on 10/17, and to take photos with Shocker and Zumbido to tease them as a new/old trio.
AAA (FRI) 10/03 Auditorio de Tijuana [frontera]
2) Joe Lider & Nicho el Millionario b Extreme Tiger & Psicosis II and Arandu & TJ Boy [AAA TAG, ladder]
4) Cibernetico b Chessman [cage]
Kenzo attacked Cibernetico, Mesias attacked Chessman, Mesias did a better job of it.
Psicosis replaced Halloween, who’s out with an injured ankle, though there’s a rumor Halloween may be done in AAA. This would also seem to confirm TJ Extreme is done here, because he otherwise would’ve been the logical replacement. Extreme Tiger climbed up the ladder (this wasn’t originally listed as a ladder match but apparently ended up being one), Tiger had a chance to grab the belts, but opted to dive off the ladder instead. Lider ended up powerbombing him and, according to this, pinned him for the win. In a ladder match. I don’t know!
NWA Mexico (SAT) 10/04 Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera [SuperLuchas, SoloLuchas: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,
1) Turbo b Black Thunder
2) Dr. Cerebro b Skayde
3) Pierko el Boricua CO Super Muneco
4) Incógnito b Danger
5) Black Terry b Negro Navarro and Solar I and Shu el Guerrero
6) Blue Demon Jr. DQ El Dandy
7) Juvi, Mil Mascaras, Tarzan Boy b Antifaz, Hator, Head Hunter I
In the main event, Mil Mascaras had Head Hunter I beat but the other rudos distracted the referee, and Head Hunter II returned to attack Mil and take his brother’s place. One brother subbing for another during a match, can you imagine such a thing? Anyway, it’s Mil so he still won.
Dandy gave Demon a martinete and was shocked to be DQed. Piledrivers are not DQs by NWA rules, Dandy pointed out. He may have something there. Demon was strechered out.
Super Muneco knocked himself out on a bump to the floor, which cause them to retighten the ropes and adjust the mats. Everyone says Black Thunder has a dive which will certainly get him killed. Sounds fun. Turbo got new gear.
Attendance is estimated at 600, up from the first show.
LuchaWorld has Robert on IWRG 03/23/06, AAA TV 03/31/06 and CMLL TV 04/01/06 and KrisZ’s news update.
Of all the lucha coverage, Accion spent the most time on a video package marking the second anniversary of Antonio Pena’s death. CMLL main event was shown (Atlatnis looked like an older man than Panther, and Panther doesn’t have a mask) as was AAA’s Cibernetico vs Mesias vs Chessman match (no finish was evident here; Chessman seems to have new gear, which probably could be improved upon.) No WWE clips.

5) Gallo & Leon Blanco vs Máscara Mágica & Toxico

I like how this match happens after I make fun of Atlantis not defending this title just a couple days ago.

I think the main event may be a 10 way strap match. I’m not sure, because that doesn’t sound right.
