11/01 – 03 Lucha Times

For the first time in a while, Televisa updated their Galavision listings. Yay.

AAA: Stones vs tag champs, Sect vs AAA guys, and Ciber/Parka/Super Fly vs Jack/Teddy/Zorro. Galavision is still listing this as a 3h00m slot, which will change again before showtime.

52MX: If they grab the segunda from Tuesday, that should be pretty awesome. (Flash/Metalik/Stuka!) Main from Coliseo is not as pretty.

FSE: Meanwhile, over here, the opening tecnico trio is Axel/Fabian/Leono. That’s not right, not right at all. Volador/Sagrado/Maximo vs Perros in the main. This is on at midnight this time thru.

CMLL-MEX: Tecnicos return, though the Villanos don’t go away quite yet.

AAA-MEX: I still think they’re splitting the Pena show, so how about the minis, the torneo and the three way.

CTres: Even if it didn’t make sense, Sombra/Sagrado/Valiente vs Rojo/Misterioso/Satanico should be pretty fun.

Projected Air Date (#862)
Mexico: 11/17
US: 12/07

Not even going to suggest names for the mystery person in the main event.

Laredo’s back, yay. For a guy gone from AAA, it sure looks like Cibernetico is still there. Chessman & the Clowns works off the pre-Memorial show angle.

Everything else plays off the usual feuds – Porky/Brazo, Morgan/Elegido (whichever Stone was hurt got better quick), Apache/Moreno. Notice they’re only booking five matches; someone must’ve realized they were only airing five matches anyway.

Odd Konnan would book his first show to look quite like all the other shows.

Cibernetico quits AAA? (No.)

According to their website, Cibernetico and AAA have come to agreement to split ways, thanks to the new Konnan regime.

This is an angle. I hope I don’t need to bold/underline/italicize that. You think, if we’re supposed to be treating Konnan as truly in control and getting rid of all he doesn’t like, that post would be followed by one canning, let’s say, Elegido. There’s a perfect place to start.

There’s actually relevant AAA stuff in the newest Observer (the US indy guys to debut this month would be New Talent Signed By Konnan, which actually makes a lot of sense, except everyone in the locker room is so angry about it, it may not happen) but this is a lot funnier as a parody of Perro Jr. that it gets the headline. Above all, entertain me.

Rudos want a title shot at the Mexican trios titles after winning the tercera. In true CMLL form, that means the challengers are both “Satanico, not teaming with his proteges” and “Misterioso II and Dragon Rojo, not teaming with Laguneras”. Is Sombra allied with those guys? Does anyone care about the new status quo except the Friday booker? (No.)

Way to start teaming back up full time and lose your first match, Triad de Terror.
Next Tuesday’s Arena Mexico show will celebrate Blue Panther hitting 30 years of wrestling. Main event will be Blue Panther vs Averno. Put the titles up!

Judging from the results now on CMLL.com, the final to Guadalajara’s torneo Corona tag team tournament was actually a draw between UG/Olimpico and Metalik/Sombra when everyone pulled everyone else’s mask. That was bound to happen someday.

Among other stories, Ovaciones writes about Atlantis in a new direct-to-video movie coming out next week.

El Siglo de Torreon has an obit for Polo Torres.

Blue Demon Jr. may have to resign as NWA Mexico President, because one isn’t allowed to be NWA champion and president of a branch at the same time. I’m sure El Dandy would take it.

Romero & Casas in NJPW: WIN in the G1 (!) over Yuji Nagata and Mitsuhide Hirasawa (Casas on Hirasawa). The next show is the last show of the tournament, with the Caribbean Syndicate vs Jado & Gedo. If Negro and Rocky win, there’s more drama the rest of the show about who moves on to the semifinals, so a draw or a win looks very possible.

Volador in TNA: based on losing their only match as a team, Volador and Tanahashi were in a four team match for a title shot at their next PPV. This didn’t go any better This match was said to get nearly 8 minutes, so there’s probably commercial break right in the middle.

Did I mention here that 52MX is picking up NJPW TV (along with CMLL and TNA (only in Mexico)). I think that’s an indication on how crazy Mexico TV networks are for (cheap?) wrestling TV at the moment.

CMLL ITACATE (WED) 11/05 Tampico
1) Místico & Volador Jr. vs Black Warrior & Sangre Azteca

This one is being taped.

Luchando Libre has even more competitors of Dark Angelin the Freestyel Fitness competition.

LuchaWorld has Robert on 06/04/06 AAA TV, 02/19/06 Guadalajara, and 06/30/06 CMLL

No, you are not misreading things! Mini’s on TV! Absolutely fantastic match. Not one of the greatest CMLL mini’s matches of all-time(there have been tons better) but once again this proves the CMLL mini’s are quite possibly better than the AAA mini’s, they just rarely get the chance to show it on TV.

Victor recaps this week’s FSE. For those tracking at home, I’m up to Plan D on getting the show off my TiVo. Luckily, it’s a long alphabet.

WagnerMania starts talking about why a Los Perros del Mal promotion is a bad idea, but digresses into a discussion about CMLL’s handling (or non handling) of the press. Along the way, I think they hit upon the tag line for CMLL in 2008:

El peor enemigo del CMLL es el CMLL.
