10/26: Tijuana, Perro Jr, lineups

Baja Star (FRI) 10/24 Auditorio de Tijuana [WagnerMania]
1) Dr. Wagner Jr. & Héctor Garza b Atlantis & Mr. Niebla

Wagner’s suspension here is up.

[SuperLuchas #287] has a big interview with Perro Jr. He confirms he left CMLL on good terms and does not plan on wrestling against CMLL talent in the near future – a lot of this move is about creating freshness and new matchups. Maybe one day, he’ll have the mask/hair match with Mistico, but not any time soon. He plans on wrestling independent guys, so no hook up with AAA and he’s evasive about Hijo del Santo (see below.) Perro Jr. will be taking the name Perros del Mal but is encouraging the members of the group to make their own decision either way. Perro plans on talking to wrestlers this week to know who’s interested and if they’d be good business decisions. He’s also interested in bringing in foreign wrestlers “the public knows only on the Internet”, which sets off multiple alarms. First show would be in December, he’s got “2 or 3” TV offers, and Perro talks about lower prices and giving people what they want instead of telling people what they should like.

Perro is listed as working CMLL shows starting 11/01, for what it’s worth.

Hijo del Santo is more than willing to face Fuerza Guerrera in a mask match. He’d like to do it around January and in another multi-man match. Also, El Hujo del Santo has challenged Perro Jr. to a match, mostly to expose him as a fraud. If Perro Jr. doesn’t take the match, Santo figures that proves Perro Jr. leaving CMLL to start his own group is as fake as Cibernetico leaving AAA to face LLL.

Terrible would like to face Dos Jr. in a hair vs mask match in December, showing he has no idea that Dos is apparently leaving, and CMLL has no idea he want this match (until now, maybe.) Terrible says he has no plans on leaving CMLL with Perro Jr., but he doesn’t really know what’s going on there. No one does.

Black Abyss says he expects to be back on TV as Abismo Negro in two TV tapings, though he’s not sure if he’ll be a rudo or tecnico yet.

Konnan says his first order of business is to get rid of the bad luchadors, and raise AAA back to where “me and Anotnio Pena had it 16 years ago.”

Both Al Filo del Ring (video) and the newest SuperLuchas talk to Canek, who’s planning on returning on 12/03 in AULL.

Terry 2000 explains his switch to the rudo side as getting annoyed with the tecnicos screwing up. He says his AAA deal fell thru because of a contract situation.

Bio of Huracan Ramirez, two years after Daniel Garcia’s passing.

In Panama, some US wrestlers working for a local promotion appeared on a television show to hype up their appearance, and stomped the Panamanian flag. This did not go over well.

Accion had CMLL main event (almost all Lagunero offense, which isn’t how it looked live) and AAA’s Mesias/Chessman vs Zorro/Cibernetico match (teams were ignored, fouls to finish until Chessman fouled Zorro last and that one counted.)

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update, Robert’s CMLL 06/24/06 TV, AAA TV 05/31/06,

10/25 NWA Mexico Results (new NWA HEAVY champ)

NWA MEXICO (SAT) 10/25 Centro Banamex [superluchas, LuchandoLibre]
1) Arkano & Hermano Muerte II TLDRAW JA & Okawa
2) Fantastico b Angus
3) Pendulo b Black Spider
4) Black Terry & Negro Navarro b Solar I & Super Astro
5) Magno b Incógnito
6) Dos Caras Sr., Máscara Sagrada, Sinestro b Cien Caras Jr., El Hijo del Solitario, Super Parka
7) Blue Demon Jr. b Adam Pearce [NWA HEAVY]

If you’re like me, your first instinct upon seeing the result is wondering how they’re going to overturn this once everyone NWA-wise is out of Mexico. I don’t think Blue Demon jr. makes any less sense as NWA Champion than Adam Pearce, but that does seem to be the way of the title. Anyway, LuchandoLibre points out Pearce was arguing that he had his arm under the ropes when Demon beat him with a half crab to win the title. The NWA officials in attendance did credit Demon with the victory, for now.

Video highlights of the match. Who ever is manning that camera focuses in on the hand under the ropes like their life depends on it. Perhaps it does. Demon cuts a promo in English during that, which is just odd.

Super Parka replaced Mascara Ano 2000 Jr.. He also tried to wear his mask, but Sagrada (back to being a tecnico) stole it from him before the match.
