09/22: Scorpio Tribute, Dos Jr. MIA?

I will be back to doing these earlier in the day at some point. I hope.

Park, ready for action
Park, ready for action

SCORPIO TRIBUTE (SAT) 09/20 Arena Lopez Mateos
1) Kagura, Payaso Solei I, Payso Solei II b Hijo de Valiente, Medieval, Valiente Jr.
2) Babe Maravilla, Electrodo Jr., Lockman, Ninja de Fuego b Coyote Dorado, Ira, Maldito Jr., Samot
3) Hombre Lobo, Polaris, Zigfried vs Aguila del America, Dinamita Kid, Kumo
4) Linda Star, Martha Villalobos, Mini Scorpio b Lady Warrior, Mini Cibernetico, Rossy Moreno
5) Intocable, Juventud Guerrera, Pantera, Super Calo, Toscano b Fuerza Guerrera, Monsther, Rambo, Shocker, Zumbido

So, that’s the second strangest 10 man tag from Saturday. Seriously, Shocker and Monsther teaming up. SoloLuchas main page has a photo of Scorpio, so he made it to this show. Mr. Reyes has tons of photos. Scorpio looks thin but you’d expect that.

I’m pretty sure Martha is supposed to have a whole troop of female wrestlers, but even on a charity show, it seems like only those four who get any work.

CMLL (SAT) 09/20 Cancha German Evers, Mazatlan, Sinaloa [SoloLuchas]
1) Angel (Sinola) & Valentin Hernandez DQ Stripper & Wilbert
2) El Conquistador, Forcado Maztleco, Serpiente Marina DQ Brujo Mayor, Marakamis I, Marakamis II
3) el Idolo, Metatron, Palacio Negro b Ebola, Güero Loco, Rafaga
4) Malefico, Máscara Mágica, Sangre Azteca b Bestia Infernal, Flash, Metal Blanco
5) Blue Panther, Stuka Jr., Valiente DQ Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

Panther wrestled unmasked and was fouled by Niebla for the finish. No Dos Jr., which caused some shuffling. With all the GDL undercarders, I wonder if this was booked thru that building.

CMLL (SUN) 09/21 Arena Coliseo [noroeste]
1) Starman & Trueno b Puma King & Tiger Kid
2) Arkangel, Bronco III, Dr. X b Fabián el Gitano, Metálico, Sensei
3) Leono, Máscara Púrpura, Tony Rivera DQ Misterioso II, Satánico, Virus
4) Black Warrior, Dragon Rojo Jr., Olímpico b Grey Shadow, Sagrado, Valiente
5) Lizmark Jr., Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero b Héctor Garza, La Máscara, Metalik

Dos didn’t make this show either, which should restart the rumors again. Hey, if I was leaving, I’d take off the moment the anniversary was over. Metalik subbed for him, which seems like the extra guy hanging around but they tried to push it as Garza teaming with a guy in his group (that you already forgot about.) Hector had Lizmark down and was going for the moonsault, but UG and Rey trippe dhim up and took out the lesser tag members for the win.

Tercera finish is a bit strange. Tecnicos were rolling to an easy win, Leono and Purpura having done divs and Rivera taking care of Satanico in the ring. Suddenly, Loco Max ran, beat up Tony Rivera. Refs saw it, called the DQ, and Loco kept working over Tony. He was eventually pulled off, and the rudos expressed their unhappiness about Loco costing them the match. Tony challenged Loco to a hair match, but Loco Max just ran off. They did feud last week, so perhpas this is what that’s about. Loco Max is at least living up to his name.

CMLL (SUN) 09/21 Poliforo Juan Gabriel, Juarez [thanks to Albert Cerda]
1) ?, Chucky, Rey Guerrero b ??, Peluchin I, Peluchin II
2) el Incredible, Maquina 45 Jr., Rey America DQ Blackfish, Cinta de Oro, Rocky Star
3) Pequeño Damian 666 & Pequeño Halloween b Bam Bam & Pequeño Olímpico
4) Mictlán & Volador Jr. b Averno & Skandalo
5) Axel, Dr. Wagner Jr., La Sombra b Damián 666, Terrible, Texano Jr.

Rudos in the second match was for excessive violence, and they earned that DQ. Incredible wrestles with a prosthetic leg, but Blackfish yanked it and started hitting people with it. There’s an AAA show here next Sunday, and Wagner vs Park main events a CMLL show two weeks later.

FILL (SUN) 09/21 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [RFC]
2) Dr. Cianuro & Keops b Angel Dorado & Angel Dorado Jr.
3) Principe Guerrero, Sangre Chicana, Sangre Chicana Jr. b Bam Bam, Mercurio, Pancho Tequila
4) Estrella Dorada Jr., Huracan Ramirez Jr., Rayman b Casanova, Hator, Sergio Romo Jr.
5) Golden Boy L Rosa Salvaje, Simbolo, Rey Demonio, Corazon Adicto [hair]

Luchando Libre has more video from the Anniversary show.

WagnerMania has video of the Multifacetico vs Fuerza Guerrera vs Black Terry mask vs hair vs title match in IWRG.

CMLL’s Blog has more Anniversary photos. So does box y lucha.

Guerreros del Ring #158 continues the trend of Panther losing being more important than Villano V winning.

As mentioned in the comments, Negro Casas and CMLL Super Lightweight Champion Rocky Romero are headed into NJPW for their G1 Tag League as the Caribbean Syndicate. I was wondering why they were just representing CMLL, but of course Rocky’s not in CMLL right now (yet, he’s got more history in NJPW than if CMLL just sent a random guy like Gray Shadow.) Meanwhile, Rayo Jr. is working the Fukumenmania 9 show, about the time you’re reading this. That YouTube video wins the award for best combination of a remixed Roxette song with masked wrestling.

KrisZ‘s news update, and WrestlingObserver has their FSE recap with Panther/V5 talk (which I totally agree with.)

09/21 AAA TV Results (Oaxaca)

AAA TV (SUN) 09/21 Plaza de Toros en Candiani, Oaxaca [LuchaLibreAAA: all, 3 and 3 again, 6]

2) Cinthia Moreno & Oriental b Fabi Apache & Gran Apache
3) Electro Shock b Súper Fly
4) Cuervo, Escoria, Ozz b Alan Stone, El Elegido, Vampiro
5) Killer Clown, Psycho Clown, Zombie Clown b Jack Evans, Kenzo Suzuki, Teddy Hart
6) Cibernetico NC Chessman and Mesias

2008 AAA TV Chart
Projected Air Date (#856)
Mexico: 10/05
US: 10/25

Not exactly sure what the official decision was in the main event; there was supposed to be a title shot on the line, but it sounds like the match ended with Chessman getting DQed for laying hands on Piero. If so, who wins? Completely unclear, maybe it’ll make sense on TV (but maybe not.) Ozz, Cuervo and Escoria ran in post match and beat up Mesias. Cibernetico thought about it, and came back to help out Mesias. Just as figured from last week, they’ve got a Mesias/Cibernetico alliance and the Dark Family reunited.

Clowns are now at win 200. Both Konnan and Electroshock both tried to get involve, but you can not stop the Psycho Circus. In case you’re thinking they might be going somewhere with this, AAA only writes about Konnan complaining about not getting matches again.

Vampiro took the pinfall in the fourth match. I’m not sure if should read into that “Vampiro’s working with the younger guys, just as promised”, or “Vampiro’s putting over the younger guys, on his way out the door.” I lean towards the latter.

Super Fly was bloodied and destroyed yet again, but didn’t get the win. If Super Fly gets killed and killed and occasionally pulls out the fluke win, it seems more like they’re confirming that he’s a lesser guy than really raising his profile by being on the same level of Electro. Maybe this will look differently on TV. They sure are making Electro look like a killer, which is, uh, nice.

Segunda confirms it’s flipped, and the Apaches now are the ones who can’t find a way to beat the Morenos. Being on the rudo side has it’s advantages.

Mini Abismo snuck in a foul on Mini Charly for the win, then challenged for a title shot.
