09/19 Arena Mexico Results (Panther loses his mask)

CMLL (FRI) 09/19 Arena Mexico
1) Damián 666, Mr. Águila, Texano Jr. b Alex Koslov, La Sombra, Maximo
2) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto b Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara, Volador Jr.
3) Dos Caras Jr., Hector Garza, Marco Corelone b Heavy Metal, Lizmark Jr., Mr. Niebla
4) Dr. Wagner Jr. DQ LA Park
5) Atlantis, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero b Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Sonjay Dutt [CMLL TRIOS]
6) Villano V b Blue Panther [mask]

Swear to god, that’s the finish, V4 with the armbar (or maybe reversing the armbar into a pin). How about it.

Blue Panther is Genaro Vazques Nevarez, 48, from Gomez Palacio, Durango.

Shelley got another on Ultimo Guerrero in the third fall, but Atlantis pulled it out for his team.

Wagner vs Park was the street fight it was promised not to be. First fall was a DCOas they brawled everywhere, second was Wagner win, third was Park getting DQ for a foul.

Tecnicos won the tercera in straight falls, Corelone getting the big pin in the second.

  1. I just want to clarify.

    Blue Panther lost his mask…

    – to an injured, old, useless Villano V who means nothing for business

    – on a show that didn’t sell out

    – in a bad amtch.

    Yes.

  2. I want a time machine to go back to April 1992 so I can tell everyone how Blue Panther will lose his mask after he has just beaten Love Machine in a huge mask match.

  3. April 1992, when Panther and Love Machine drew nearly 30,000 for their match…

I can not even say that CMLL is going down, it’s just getting worse.

  4. I’d never thought they would actually book something that stupid. CMLL continues to amaze me. Blue Panther better have had a huge payday to lose his mask like that.

  5. you guys are just pissed off because everyone here picked Panther as the winner. Seriously guys, why do you waste your time at watching CMLL if you don’t like this ? I’m happy with the result, the Villanos had a huge mask win, another trophy for this legendary family.

  6. Get off your high horse man. Let us mourn in peace. Those fat bastards didn’t deserve Panther’s mask.

  7. Seriously, i’m stunned.

After a career like Blue Panther’s, losing to a fat useless nobody like V5, who is not even one of CMLL’s own. It’s just astounding.

And what the hell were CMLL thinking? if Panther was definitely losing, then they had some of their own guys like Ultimo, even maybe Averno who he could have dropped it to, which would have benefitted the company, given a young(er)talented rudo a rub, and it would have given us a match worthy of what should have been a momentous occasion. Hell, even his old foe Atlantis would’ve done.

Panther must have been absolutely desperate for money to agree to lose it to that waster. He should have a mask match befitting of his career. As it turned out, what a sad centrepiece to it.

  8. Noo-oooh!
    It’s unbelievable!
Why the hell did not place Mr.Niebla and Dr.Wagner or Dragon Rojo and Mictlan?
A low point in many years of success for CMLL!
    In any case…
Pantera, The Panther AAA, Blue Panther and Panterita del Ring (Freelance) all destapados.

  9. i’m shocked as well. you would think if he was going to drop his mask it would be to put someone over who needs to be put over or should be put over. definitely not Villano V.

  10. Shocked beyond words, I was sure V-5 would lose. Nice timing that Discovery Espanol repeats the special that features Panther tonight at 6 central.

  11. @luchalibrelive!:”once again CMLL delivers a big mask, and does not let fans down.”

Curious about the ‘once again’ comment. When was the previous time CMLL delivered a big mask?

  12. I am so shocked, this is the least expectec thing ever, like someone said, at least he should dropped the mask to Ultimo Guerrero or Atlantis. Villano V has never been at the middle of the Villano food chain, a great technical wrestler but never someone that can be seen as a singles legend….CMLL has make a mockery again of great wrestlers, if you see, for years if someone like Marvin or Super Crazy came to CMLL, they always lose the hair, they don´t like winners and people that are great….it´s a real shame, but i agree, let´s hope Panther gets a good Las Vegas or Bahamas trip…

  13. Well you said mask, not hair.

    Villano V: 2008
    Villano 3: 2000
Lizmark Jr.: Not a big mask.
    Scorpio Jr.: 1999
Shocker: 1999 but wasn’t a big mask at the time, he made his career after losing his mask.

I’ll even help you out and toss in Universo 2000 in 2004.

4 masks in 9 years. Does that really qualify as a good track record?

  14. Scorpio Jr was pinned by Negro Casas, so it doesn’t count as well.

Heck, even Steele got a full house, I’m thinking Quiñones was booking that thing since it’s pretty obvious CMLL simply is full of idiots.
