09/15: Coliseo

Mascara Purpura, a second before busting Virus’ forehead/CMLL

CMLL (SUN) 09/14 Arena Coliseo [cmll]
1) Arkangel & Pólvora b Molotov & Trueno
2) Euforia, Hooligan, Nosferatu b Fabián el Gitano, Hijo del Faraon, Metálico
3) Leono, Máscara Púrpura, Tony Rivera b Loco Max, Skandalo, Virus
4) Alex Koslov, Grey Shadow, La Máscara b Damián 666, Mr. Águila, Texano Jr.
5) Blue Panther, Héctor Garza, La Sombra b Averno, Black Warrior, Mephisto

Panther’s on form, beating Avenro clean here. Alex replaced Valinete. Mascara Purpura has new gear (flipped colors) and busted Virus open something fierce. Hooligan continues to be on “replace Halcon Negro” duty. Arkangel replaced Semental, and the CMLL recaped mused about Polvora someday joining the Tuareg. Polvora can do better.

IWRG (SUN) 09/14 Arena Naucalpan [Ovaciones]
6) Dr. Wagner Jr., el Hijo Del Anibal, Multifacético b Fuerza Guerrera, Head Hunter I, Veneno

ESTO has a profile of Princesa Sujei, who wants to take the title and the hair from Marcela, and the mask from Goddess before sending her back to Canada (“I don’t even know what she is doing here.”)

SoloLuchas has an interview with Acuarius, who’s training in CMLL.

Victor recapes the FSE show. Luchaworld has Robert writing about AAA in Toluca in ’06.

Anyways, what a better way to open up a TV show then with – *20 MINUTES OF GREAT MINI’S ACTION*!

That ain’t happening in AAA anytime soon.

  1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StF1GsM0yIg

    Mistico’s injury.

It looks to me like the botched dive was planned since Bucanero is running away and Mistico still jumps anyways but Mistico just messed up the landing… not that there is really a safe way to land on a tope suicida to nowhere. I just don’t think he meant to go down head-first.

  2. @Rob: I can’t believe they’d plan something like that – it looks to me like Rey thought it was time for a dive fake spot and did the usual run up the aisle scarity cat bit, and Mistico just his normal dive not realizing Rey wasn’t there. I’d guess it depends on what led up to it on who was right to expect what.

  3. @thecubsfan: I dunno, it’s tough to tell. I guess we can guess all we want but only Mistico and Bucanero know for sure. I just assumed it was a planned spot b/c Mistico’s tope suicidas usually have him soaring and it looks like he barely has any momentum here as if he’s planning to come up short.

One thing we know for sure is the ByL forum thinks it’s 100% Mistico’s fault.

  4. I few months back, Sagrado tried a moonsault and Virus kicked the rope making Sagrado fall bad, I think Sagrado forgot that the ropes were going to be kicked since they’ve done that spot afterwards, same here, I think Rey thought it was a fake dive or something.

    And it’s 100,000,000 % ‘tico’s fault.

  5. looked like Mistico hooks his foot. also looks like Bucanero is hurrying to get in position for the move, which should be about 10 feet from the ring.

other posibility is that Bucanero was expecting him to just do a 619.

  6. totally unrelated, but with Azteca airing a big boxing event from Arena Mexico on 8/27 I wonder if Televisa will air Villano vs. Panther against it?

  7. Azteca aired the “big” boxing match last night, it was pretty empty though. Also, Arena Monterrey had Mijares defending his title and did half house, mostly from Laguna natives, there have not been a WBC title match over there (maybe even Mexico City) and it still was not that huge. Mostly because the economy, me thinks. Even dollar has gone up like 8% in a week.

  8. ArMex has another big boxing show on 8/27. Cubs mentioned it as being the possible reason why Anniversary is this week and not 8/26. Either way, Televisa says “Sport to be announced” for Galavision on 8/27, which could mean nothing, but I’m guessing it could be Panther vs. Villano or even Verano.

ACM also has De la Hoya boxing this Saturday.

  9. Mmmm… you mean next August?

Last night was said to have 8000… I guess Azteca is not resourceful enough to paper the building enough to make it look as a huge thing, CMLL should do better this Friday.

  10. I meant 9/27 at ArMex. There’s a big boxing show that night. Same night Televisa shows “Sport to be announced” on Galavision. So I’m thinking that Televisa could be planning to air something against boxing.

  11. It’s soccer, nothing unusual. San Luis, Tigres, Atlante, Atlas are playing that day, I bet they have not decided between Atlante and Atlas to air at 21:00 and the other one at 23:00.

  12. Tigres vs. Juarez in prime time on Galavision would be like the opener at ArMex airing on CMLL every week. But you’re right about the other games. Still, Canal de las Estrellas is also “To be announced”, so something is up that night against boxing at ArMex.

Televisa lists boxing this Saturday at 10, so I guess that could be the Golden Boy Boxing from Monterrey. I’d love to see how ACM looks with a real promoter doing the lighting.

  13. Tigres sucks regardless of their time.

    ACM sucks.

    Oscar de la Hoya sucks.

Still, I’m surprised Oscar is boxing in a tiny and unimportant place like Monterrey.

  14. Damn! Should have added:

    Rayados sucks.

    Multimedios sucks.

    Payasonicos sucks.

    Alicia Villareal sucks.

Gloria Trevi su… well, she’s like 50something but still hot, so I’ll spare her… for now…

  15. LOL. Chui is the ultimate cyberheel. That’s why I call him X-Chuy, because he’s a new person, not like the original.

Some Multimedios shows are good. I don’t think De la Hoya is boxing there. He’s just promoting it.

Anyway, Televisa is doing the boxing from ArMex on 9/27 anyway, so it won’t be Lucha on that night. I just had hoped to see a free PPV.
