Don’t see any live Verano de Escandalo results. Not a big surprise, with it not being on PPV.
Scorpio Jr. is interviewed in SuperLuchas #281, saying he’s not for certain going to AAA – he may eventually, and he appreciates those from AAA (and CMLL and independent guys like Santo) who’ve visted him, but he’s not made the (economic) decision yet. Anibal and Groon did not get along in the main event, with Groon teasing a rudo turn. Negro Navarro yanked Ultraman’s mask to win the semifinal, and the the third match sets up a title match next week.
While you can probably figure out what CMLL highlights were without being told, AAA’s were intersting since it’s the Pacuha taping they never got around to listing results for. As expected, Chessman was the mystery man on the rudo side and the clips made it seem like a completely and total destruction by Electro, Kenzo and Chessman on Super Fly, Parka and Cibernetico. Cibernetico got bloodied and speared thru a table and Super Fly got strechered out (and his father seemed to get involved – just in helping him get to the back.) Rudos ended up DQed for excessive violence (I think), and Chessman had to be held back from attacking Cibernetico more.
I watched the first few minutes of the Discovery en Espanol Lucha Libre documentary, and it seems good. It does feel like I’ve seen it already, because there seems to be quite a few in this genre of late.
Ovaciones previews today’s Coliseo show, noting the returns of Hector Garza (knee) and Leono (just bad – they note Leono’s recent dip on the cards.)
SuperLuchas posted Friday’s Arena Mexico results, a plug for the Lucha Libre Fan Fest, and a note about Dragon Rojo Jr. starting a telenovela on Monday. You can’t tell as well on those pictures, but in the magazine, it’s very obvious they didn’t sell a ticket in any of the decks. The floor looks full, but that’s all that was sold. Hope people were just saving their money.
