09/14 AAA TV Lineup (Verano de Escandlo)

Yea, about 50 hours before the show, we have an official card.

5) Jack Evans & Teddy Hart vs Crazy Boy & Ultimo Gladiador and Extreme Tiger & Halloween and Joe Lider & Nicho el Millionario [AAA TAG]
6) Vampiro vs Mesias [cage]
7) Cibernetico vs Chessman [AAA HEAVY]

2008 AAA TV Taping Lineup
Projected Air Date (#854, #855)
Mexico: 09/21, 09/28
US: 10/11, 10/18

This is generally what has been assumed and exactly what was on the poster, but it’s nice to get confirmation. I doubt they’ll ever post results from last Sunday.

Both Solo Luchas and AAA’s site have the card, except they have slightly different cards. AAA’s website has the Vampiro/Mesias match last (which makes sense, so they don’t have to kill time putting up and taking down the cage.) SoloLucha list Super Fly’s spot as a mystery wrestler spot in AAA’s lineup, which makes sense based on the Electroshock/Super Fly feuding. AAA’s lineup leaves off Pirata Morgan from the Guapos team, but that again makes sense given the stuff with Elegido.

Mascarita Sagrada, Mini Histeria and Mini Chessman are seconds for the minis match, Fabi Apache & La Diabolica are the seconds for the mixed tag.

TV wise, we’re again headed to a show with only 2 matches and 2 hours of time killing. JOY. Couldn’t they have at least paid whever to bring back Rossy for one show and have her lose to Fabi here to add one more match? Doesn’t appear this one will be on PPV (but CMLL’s Anniversary apparently will…)

  1. This is really a piss poor card. I mean the tag titles match just proves that. Why aren’t they doing Jack/Teddy vs Aerostar/Partner? The only thing that looks remotely interesting is Chessman/Cibernetico.

  2. Piss poor is right. I guess the mixed tag match could be good if they have a straight match without much screwiness but I’d expect Faby and Diabolica too get involved.

  3. @Tim: I might have comps. I noticed that there is less interest in TNA than ever. I remember when right after IMPACT, people would give opinions on DVDVR. Not good comments, but people cared enough to post away about TNA. Now no one cares, and post nothing about them.

  4. The house shows are even getting bad reviews now, whereas everyone had been pretty positive in the past.

  5. TNA is coming to SoCal for 3 shows (why 3 shows, really?) in Ontario (near where I live), Anaheim and Bakersfield. They picked the same weekend that PWG is running BOLA. I don’t think TNA is going to do well in SoCal.

  6. @Alfredo: TNA almost always does three show weekends because they feel the cost of going on the road divided by three shows is cost-efficient while just two shows isn’t.

  7. Whether the problems being reported about AAA’s locker room are true or not, the one thing made crystal clear by this lineup is that nobody has any idea where the promotion is going… especially the people in charge.

Ciber/Chessman and Vamp/Mesias were well known in advance. The mixed tag title and mini’s title matches were known as well but the rest really seems like the people in charge just realized they had a big show coming up and said “let’s do what we always do.”

    Enter random six man tag.

Enter Porky’s buddies vs makeshift rudo team.

Enter another four way extreme match that means nothing to anyone.

Exit the recently heavily pushed Porky vs Psycho Circus feud.

Exit Aero Star vs Jack Evans which has been the main feud behind Ciber vs Chessman.

AAA has never been a hard promotion to book properly so there really is no excuse for such a lame card.

  8. “the one thing made crystal clear by this lineup is that nobody has any idea where the promotion is going…”

That’s the worst non-Keith-or-Daniel statement ever made over here.
