SoloLuchas talks to people who’ve dropped by the hospital to visit Scorpio Jr.: his wife, Cibernetico, Mesias, and Tiffany. Despite leaving, Scorpio’s still close with the AAA crew; Tiffany mentions it was Histeria who let her know what was going on. Tiffany says she’s still with AAA and thinking about returning in about four months, but right now spending time with her new child. Mesias talks about meeting Scorpio for the first time 13-14 years ago, when he first came to Mexico. Cibernetico says Scorpio’s looked better every time he’s seen him. Scorpio Jr.’s wife says the suddenness of Scorpio’s illness caught them by surprise, but they’re hoping he’ll be moved out of intensive care this weekend and be able to go home next week.
Zumbido takes Scorpio Jr.’s spot in the 10 man hair/mask cage indy match next Sunday.. Apparently, at the press confrence to announce this, Zumbido blamed Intocable for Scorpio’s ulcers and vowed revenge. Intocable denied he caused the ulcers, of course.
Can’t wait till Friday? Ovaciones has Mictlan unmasked today. It’s not totally on purpose, but kinda dumb to have a picture of Dragon Rojo ripping Mictlan’s mask so you can completely see Mictlan’s face one day before the mask match. The article itself is the updated card; Mr. Niebla/Dr. Wagner Jr. is still the main event (and they have to be doing an angle with those two to justify it) and the card listed below has the women’s match moved up past the CMLL/TNA match.
Univision talks to women wrestlers in Mexico, mostly with Cinthia & Rossy Moreno and Lady Apache, about what life is like when your career is wrestling.
Univision also runs down the list of CMLL injuries. No news – I think that’s even an old picture of Mistico in a sling.
Random Hoy Internet story about the rise and fall of Juvi. Fuerza sold bird cages in between matches?
AAA previews Sunday’s Arena Solidardad taping with previews of Mini Abismo vs Atomic Boy, the women’s tag, Jack vs Aerostar, Vampiro & Tecnicos vs Mesias & the Sect, Zorro vs the Hell Brothers.
CMLL says their wrestlers will not be at Banda Ancha this weekend, because they were never contacted (and even then, almost all are hurt or working elsewhere on Friday.)
Everyone being on vacation in Spain is partially blamed for the disappointing attendance at the CMLL shows. I gather people going on vacation in August is not a good thing, why schedule it then if it’s such an issue? I’m sure it was part of an issue, but probably not as much as no one knowing who these people are and a market that’s been coming so over saturated so quick (look, LA Park, Santo and Mil there next month!) that the novelty of going to a random wrestling show has worn thin. I’m happy CMLL is trying to expand their business and giving guys opportunities to work more places (and make more money), but you’ve got to actually make it work rather than just declaring it a victory for existing at all.
The other thing is, when someone runs a tour with quarter-filled buildings and the biggest stars for the next tour will not be healthy by then, you don’t believe they’re going to run that second tour until they announce firm dates and buildings.
Conozca Mas has a cover story on Santo.
LuchaWorld has Robert writing about 52MX , ACMonterrey and Lucha Libre Azteca. They’ve also got KrisZ’s lucha report from last night.
As suspected, Oriental will indeed be at the 09/20 CHIKARA show in Streamwood. The main event is the Super Smash Brothers and Oriental vs Mike Quackenbush, Hallowicked, and Incognito. Go buy tickets now.

that’s such an odd combination of people in that Chikara match.
I remember the Observer reporting some time ago that Fuerza ran a bird seed business, so I guess he was simply tyring to create a demand for his product.
It’s amusing how the Ce-eme-ele-ele-anos (CMLLners) are trying to spin the Spain fiasco into a success. “Quarter-filled buildings” is way to generous, Plazas de Toros listed were in the 18,000 range (plus the bottom ringside) so selling less than 1000 tickets is way less than bad.
ArMex had around 14,000 during the vacation times, and droped to half house during the back to school times, why would Spain be any different? One guy in a Spaniard board actually said that less than a thousand fans was unthinkable considering the place was packed with tourist everywhere (and Spain is the second most visited country in the world) so I call that excuse a pile of… well… I won’t say it.
“the rise and fall of Juvi.”
Juvi was in 3ra Caida last Tuesday, and he surprised me not bashing AAA, about his fallout, he just said that he had some plans that didn’t fit with AAA but that he still considered AAA his home and was thankful, odd, but at the same time, pretty much sealed his fate as CMLL won’t ever pick up someone who doesn’t bash AAA.
Man screw the CMLL show, It’s all about Jack Evans vs Aerostar this weekend. God I hope that match delivers.
My prayers and best wishes on a speedy recovery go out to Scorpio Jr.
Jack Vs. Aerostar is going to rock.
Rise and fall of Juvi, hasn’t this been like everywhere he wrestled?
