Oh, Mexico, don’t ever change.
It surprises me that they’re charging $35 for ringside, when this show clearly is not about making any money.

This is the type of show where you sneak in for the opener and if you get kicked out after it’s over you really don’t care either way.
God that lineup looks like absolute shit and yes I’m including Navarro/Solar b/c you can pay Fredo $5 and see the same match since they don’t change anything and especially won’t here since it’s a “major show” and they’ll stick to what they know.
Hmm. Brentalbright vs Adam Pearce Shirt. How odd…
Brental Bright is all I can think when reading that poster.
Is this being taped? Can’t wait to Adam Pearce’s shirt in action.
“Adam Pearce Shirt”
At least they used and “r” right there near the end so it wasn’t that embarrassing…
Is this being taped? If so, I can’t wait to Adam Pearce’s shirt in action. Anyone know anything about Brental Bright?
Dammit. Sorry cubs. You can go ahead and delete the first comment if you like and this one as well.
Sadly Adam Pearce’s shirt and Adam Pearce himself combined would still draw a grand total of zero fans to this show.
@Rob: lol. that’s pretty funny.
I think WON said something about Azteca America.
But that Adam Pearce Shirt thing is pretty funny. Wait till he sees it. Poster says superluchas on the side, and they should know better, since they cover American wrestling better than anyone down there.
Just wait till Brental Bright gets pinned by Adam Pearce’s Shirt and they announce the Shirt as the new ‘AWN’ Heavyweight Champion!
GWAS might be on the verge of losing their title of most hyped promotion to put on the most disapointing debut show in this decade. Ironically enough it was Skayde, Turbo and Black Thunder who opened the GWAS show in 2000…
@luchalibrelive!: I don’t think SuperLuchas made the poster – it’s just a watermark so they can see who steals it.
@thecubsfan: oh.
well, could this NWA show be the reason for CMLL running a hyped show next week?
OH CRAP! LOL! Brental Bright vs. Adam Pearce Shirt! GENIUS!
You know, I can think of a few wrestlers on this card who would get outworked by a shirt!;)
wait until I see Dave Prazak, Pearce’s longtime manager at the FIP show on Saturday, he’ll have to laugh at this.
someone just posted on byl that CMLL is 50 minutes. Sad.
Still think CMLL needs Televisa, Chui?
Who or what is that CMLL thing you are talking about, Keith?
Someone of byl said CMLL is just 50 minutes on Saturday.
My point is, CMLL really should leave Televisa at this point. You seemed against it a few weeks ago. I think it’s clear serious changes are needed for CMLL, and their tv situation.
i thought superluchas.net might be a sponsor of the NWA show. they sometimes sponsor events.
I just posted what millions of guys would post down here, CMLL has not the same name value as AAA, in fact, in many places, they call indy or even CMLL guys shows LUCHA LIBRE AAA. CMLL not on TV makes them even more obscure, and that’s not good.
If they leave, it will be very bad for them.
sure, the rub from televisa is good. but something has to be done about the show being cut to 50 minutes.
if CMLL got Azteca, would that be obscure?
Yes.
Anyways, no one has mentioned CMLL going to Azteca.
Azteca is obsure?
Yep, they’re the worst tv network ever, anywhere.
LOL. Sure, they have problems. Still, they have soccer teams that get them huge ratings, and shows like DeporTV, a few telenovelas, and breakthrough shows like La Academia.
And, they have total coverage in Mexico for both 7 and 13. That said, enjoy watching CMLL on your local Galavision affiliate in Nuevo Laredo. Oops, I forgot, Galavision does not have affiliates there or in Reynosa. Only cable subs can see CMLL and AAA in those towns.
I don’t watch TV, so Azteca programming and ratings couldn’t care less to me, but they’re a bunch of thugs used to stomp on anyone who doesn’t do what they want, their methods to handle their workers would make Don Corleone proud, they sent a paramilitary team with automatic weapons forbidden in Mexico to raid rival network’s building, they do frauds on a daily basis, etc.
CMLL airs locally through C57 which is closer to Gala programming than Azteca 7, which is mostly Mty programming. Just because a channel has national coverage, it means the shows will air everywhere.
Good point. A show can be pre-empted.
Azteca sent the paramilitary team to stop Telemundo from using a tv personality that they claim was under contract. Televisa seized the opportunity of this incident, plus their battle with Univision, to form an already successful alliance with Telemundo. One Telemundo telenovela is getting huge ratings(Victoria) on Galavision.
Azteca also stole Ch.40 in the DF.
Still, CMLL has a PPV in september, and the fact that their flagship show is bounced around, or shortened in running time, is just not good. Add to the fact that the same happens to them on FSE(in both countries), it’s amazing they don’t just leave Televisa.
Well, if you want to see CMLL show no matter what, it would be good for them to go to Azteca, if Paco gets upset and tries to pull a show out, he’ll get a bunch of armed guys tearing up his office… I can see Paco crying for Mistico to save him like in those Luchadores vs Mafia flicks…
If CMLL gets a deal with Azteca, GdR, FSE, Ras de Lona and CT would be gone since Azteca would never allow CMLL to do business with anyone else. Azteca has a bad image, many people don’t care, but there are lots who do, Televisa gives CMLL certain credibility, besides, it’s considered like a tradition, so I doubt they have seriously considered leaving.
I agree with the credibility. It’s nice to see CMLL clips on Accion, which gets good ratings.
Azteca can’t say shit about existing deals CMLL has. CMLL sells the rights to each event(Fri, Sun, Tues), and in television, there’s a difference between cable rights, and free tv rights. That’s why CMLL gets away with running on non-Televisa properties.
Was this before or after Fuerza turned technico?
After. I guess he’s a heel in the NWA.
