AAA 2008 TV Chart
Projected Air Date (#847)
Mexico: 08/03
US: 08/23

Once again, Vampiro and Mesais brawled around and didn’t get to a finish in time. (I forgot I had a Time Limit abbreviation, it doesn’t get used much.) Judging from the pictures, Vamp took the worst of the fight, going thru a table and needing medical help.

Cibernetico and Chessman didn’t get along once again. Halloween got in a foul on Cibernetico, and Chessman opted not to break it up, so the HBs lost and appear to be lost.

Bull terrier sounds like the standard deal of the rudos not putting on the collars and using it to get the advantage on the tecnicos, but the tecnicos coming back to win.

Hermandad beating the Hart Foundation is a miscarriage of justice.

La Hechicera replaced Ayako Hamada. Fabi pinned Cinthia.

Atomic Boy is Mini Dizzy. Someone finally figured out having a Mini Dizzy without a Dizzy was dumb. Hooray!

  1. Why not just call him ‘Atomico’ though? Atomic Boy is kinda odd. Sounds like MDLM got hurt on the finish (450 splash).

There was also a match with locals that hopefully makes TV since Queretaro has great locals.

  2. Hey I called it, Messias and Vampiro drawed again which means we get to see them do it again

  3. “Atomic Boy is Mini Dizzy. Someone finally figured out having a Mini Dizzy without a Dizzy was dumb. Hooray!”

What are your thoughts on Mascarita Dorada, Tzuki, Pequeno Halloween, Mascarita Sagrada IV and Mini Abismo Negro (for the time being)?:/

  4. Tzuki’s not a “mini [x]” unless I’m totally spacing, and there’s Halloweens and Mascara Sagradas out there. Abismo has years of being a top star on TV even if he’s not now. For all those guys, fans are aware of the gimmick the minis are doing. Not so much Dizzy.

Violencia…I’d totally be okay with him changing his name

  5. Fair enough. I have no idea what a Tzuki is or where he got the name big there was definitely no big Tzuki.

CMLL should give the next big flyer the Mascara Dorada gimmick. First time a big wrestler will be inspired by a little wrestler. Could be interesting. Heck, they should have just given it to Metalik instead of making Metalico sad.

  6. Looks like Teddy and Jack got a new manager. “Nicki” is how the pix identify her as.

Mascarita De La Muerte is soooooooooooooooooooooooo the ex-Mini Ozz. Just look at that hair.

  7. I think there is a japanese word called Tsuki, which might be where he got the name from.

  8. Wow, no AAA San Jose results. I can’t believe Dave Meltzer went to Elite instead of AAA. I’m dying to know how they did, hoping to read “6,000” or more in San Jose. I don’t want them to bomb.

  9. @Ringo: Nice, thanks!

@Keith: Dave isn’t a wrestling fan, it’s no surprise he went to Elite or whatever it’s called. Plus he probably gets paid to write articles based on that shit fighting… shoot fighting.

  10. How can you not believe Dave went to EXC instead of AAA Keith? Dave’s mostly a MMA writer now and it’s his job to go to MMA events.

  11. You didn’t miss much Rob. Man those MTY guys look so much a like. I think the Commercial Break was longer than the match.

  12. Oh so it got edited bad? That sucks. I just saw Javi almost kill himself on a moonsault plancha and then Ricky score the win.

  13. I forgot the main is that long Rumble so everything will be edited to death.

I cannot believe they put someone under the Mascarita mask who is afraid to climb the ropes…

  14. Upcoming AAA TV:

    Aug. 8 – Madero

Aug. ? (never said) – Sala De Armas in Mexico City
    * This might just be one of those only for women shows.

Aug. 17 – Tlaleulipan (I spelt that wrong), Hidalgo

  15. Aero Star just proved in that match why he should win the Alas De Oro. I counted 4 spots I’ve never seen before within only 2 exchanges he got to do. AMAZING.

  16. Green mohawk although I’m looking to see if he was subbed out of the group since he’s booked as Brazo De Plata Jr. tmrw in Nuevo Laredo on the same show the clowns will be working.

  17. Man I still like those Clowns. I wish they were on TV more. Seems like they are on 1 week and off 3.

  18. Ciber is coming off as the rudo in this feud even though it appears Chessman will end up rudo. Very odd.

  19. I don’t know who has a bigger death wish: Jack Evans or Gladiador? Jack took 2 knees right to the face.

  20. They were gonna do a power bomb/lungblower deal. Crazzy Boy MIGHT wanna not toss Jack backwards so fast like that next time since the spot takes perfect execution. Just a thought though.

  21. Meltzer is still the best, even though he does cover lots of streetfighting(MMA). He could’ve sent one of his minions to the San Jose and LA shows. Only results I see anywhere are TNA in Florence, and WWE in Westchester and Altoona.

If San Jose drew anything special, Konnan would’ve called Dave, and Dave would’ve posted something,so it’s not a good sign. I hope I’m wrong though.

  22. FWIW, and while sidestepping everything else, Dave Meltzer said he wanted to go the AAA show, but just was not able to. I think, because AAA was so late announcing it, he’d probably already committed to going to the Elite XC show for his Yahoo work.

  23. cubs, don’t forget to check elmexicanopresenta.com during the week, they seem to update with video packages of their events, so maybe they’ll put something up from the weekends Lucha shows.

True, Dave did find out kind of late.

I watched AAA this weekend, and noticed that “NotiAAA” said the California tour was “dates pending”, which is bad, just bad.

  24. Well it’s 3 weeks behind so when it aired originally the dates were pending. But you’re dead on – they should have slipped in a crawler saying the right dates to get some last minute people to attend on Sunday.

  25. Well, I bet that C52Mx also has guys hyping the WWE PPVs a week after they already been aired.

  26. They did air (national) ads about the shows, listing the dates, once an hour, so if you watched it live you saw it. But they certainly coudl’ve done a better job.

  27. @xuisaw: That does not make it right. If the market leader makes a mistake, it does not mean smaller companies should do the same.

And I don’t think 52mx airs WWE weeks behind. This is a good question for the byl board. I thought WWE airs on-time, and uses their own commentators, no MVS commentators. The only countries that should air WWE weeks behind are ones that need a scripted translation, for local commentators to do the work, like Japan.

AAA does not have enough control over their TV. They should’ve had a special NotiAAA for the US. So much was on the line this weekened. The hourly spots cubs mentions were fleeting, and lacked passion.

  28. The July 28 edition of RAW should air on August 2 or 3 in Mexico. If that’s the case, they are not behind.

Wagnermania’s feed of CMLL showed the graphic for AAA on Aug 8. So if we find out where AAA is doing that main event on Aug 8, we’ll know where he lives. He seems to have MAS TV(MVS) too.

  29. FX has a WWE show and that is several weeks behind, I saw ECW somewhere and it was the same story, actually, it had English with subtitles, the RTC has to give the let go for every show, is not as easy as WWE just putting their commentary team, some of the words used in one place won’t get by in another country, even if it’s Spanish all along. It has happened with Televisa and Univision before. AAA will never have total control over what airs, neither WWE.

The show is for Saturday 9, the 8th is the Madero taping.

  30. BTW, Soccer is back, since most guys use the feed to hook up to the Rayados (losers) and Tigres (more of the same) games, chances are that the feed will be hard to come on Saturdays, so if you can, maybe you should try to see if you can connect earlier.

  31. @xuisaw: Funny you mention that chui. Who is televising Tigres in Mexico this season? I think they only air on SKY SPORTS, because they are not very popular.

  32. All soccer teams, no matter how crappy, are aired on either Televisa or Azteca, if anything, because they’ll at least host games for popular teams. Neither team of Mty is aired on free tv in Mty itself, they can the signal and are only available through PPV, I guess they had PPV on Cable but now are doing that through SKY. They tried to do that in Torreon last year and didn’t work, it seems no one bought the events and they went back on air at the third game.

  33. You sure on La Heichera replaced Ayako and it showed that Ayako was in the match?

When did Cinthia turn heel or did Fabi turn ruda again?

And i still think Chessman is going to turn rudo again or they will turn Ciber rudo, then again I don’t think the fans will boo Ciber either way.

  34. AAA LA results up on the Observer website. Show seems kinda weak but the reviewer seems to have liked the show. I’m surprised you didn’t have the results first Keith since you seem to have the pulse of everything Mexican.

  35. @xuisaw: Puebla was very close to signing with ESPN. Eventually, cable will cut into free broadcast. I think Tigres is airing on SKY and Univision has the rights here in the US. Only the Tigres vs. Rayados game would be bought by Televisa.

  36. That Puebla thing was a big scandal over there, the guy who almost signed the deal was pretty much thrown out of the team and made fun of by everyone, he was going to sing for much less what the teams do but he’s a clueless rookie, worse thing is that both Televisa and Azteca banned him and his team goth no exposure in the local media.

Mexico (and probably MLS) is the only country that has every team on free tv, after the “lucha boom” of the late 80’s and early 90’s, came a “futbol boom”, before that, only 2 or 3 teams would have their games aired, then every single team was on TV, it is really an artificial situation since all teams report loses and have big companies backing them up and singing up the loses, but I don’t think they’ll last too much more on TV.

  37. Maybe Puebla was just bluffing. In the US, we get Mexican soccer on cable and free tv. It’s a mix. Last season, Fox Sports en Espanol had most of the Puebla games here, in addition to Azteca America.

Televisa used to require teams to sign with them on an international basis. Now, the teams sign their own deals in the US. CMLL and AAA can do the same. I noticed on Ras de Lona, they show footage that aired on Televisa too(as an example).
