07/15: way too much on the AAA website, Mistico to China

quick thoughts on the new AAA website.
– someone forget to make the RSS feeds stop pointing to their test server. OOPS.
– but having RSS feeds for videos and pictures is great, I just hope it all gets updated
– news article are great and all, but there really should be a place with results
– and a place with lineups; there’s one line about the Solidardad taping, zero about Queretaro and beyond
– nothing about the TV show either
– or a store
– or a list of current champions
– and there’s a fair amount of links not working as you think they should
– rosters pages are mostly the same text, but they took new photos, some of which are great
– it’d be much easier if the roster was all visible on one page; six at a time doesn’t work well with 100 people
– Make of it what you will: Abismo Negro has a profile, and it’s near the top of the stack. So does Latin Lover. So does Cassandro. So does Chucky, though no Monsther. So does Intocable, which means they just haven’t looked thru them all yet. (Perhaps it’d be easier if they were in alphabetical order.) The Vipers seem all represented.
– Kenzo Suzuki’s name is spelled Kenzo Suzuky, and they must be convinced that’s the correct way. Kevin gets a profile, which only alludes to a pre-Barrio Boy past. Jack Evans maestros do include Bryan Alvarez, so someone’s been reading wikipedia.
– Omissions I spotted: no Super AAA (though, and I don’t know why I would bring this up, but Mascara Divina is there), no Barrio Boy Ricky (truly a man of mystery) and none of the Psycho Circus.
– Not only is only one Mascarita Sagrada acknowledged, he’s also a man from the future!

CMLL’s Blog wonders who Mistico would rather not face next week – Perro or Wagner? He’s going to have a lot of flight time to think this thru: Sololuchas says he is headed to China from July 19 to the 25, back just in time for next Friday’s Leyenda de Plata final (jet lag is going to make that one fun.) Both Mistico and Averno are going back China from August 8 to the 16th for some lucha exhibtions. Averno’s coming back the 16th, but Mistico is sticking around for the Olympics from there. That means Mistico’s not going to be around much for the next stretch (just enough for the LdP match and a rematch the next week); adjust your predictions accordingly.

Caifan was got hurt on Sunday, might have about to be Brujo.

CMLL winning the X Cup made Notimex yesterday.

(Reforma via Jazzo) Metalico says people were very confused when Metalik started working there with a similiar name – friends thought he was working shows Metalik was working, family members were even confused. But now that’s all clearer – Metalico’s tattoos help – and Metalico’s teamed with Metalik a couple times, he thinks they may make a great team and may form a permanent alliance.

Victor recapped last Sunday’s FSE show.

Hablando de Catch has photos of the Atlantis 25th Anniversary subway exhibit. SoloLuchas has photos from Atlantis’ day, before the match, as well as an interview.

SoloLuchas interviews Semental, who says his biggest rival is Super Camaleon. Always like it when the guys who don’t even make pre-novato matches are feuding. They’ve also got an interview with Pepe Casas, who mentions he’s got two other grandsons wrestling besides Tigre & Puma: Bengala in Cuernavaca and Sendero Luminoso in DF.

CMLL’s Terra video feed has the main event trios match from two weeks ago 1 2 3 4

Luchas 2000 #428 has the LdP finalists, Demon vs Santo, Atlantis celebrating with hsi rivals, and Blue Panther celebrating with Tigre Universitario’s mask.

Box Y Lucha #2879 has Mistico and Hector with the belts.

A group in Monterrey is starting up as a early ROH clone. Like, everyone must shakes kinda thing. Will it draw? Does any small group in Monterrey actually draw, and does it matter?

A blog in Spain writes about Tiger Marino’s YouTube videos encouraging environmental protection. “He’s a real life Captian Planet”, which I think is supposed to be a compliment.

La Tarde profiles local wrestler El Pakto.

Desde Ringside is a new site dedicated to lucha libre in southeastern Mexico.

  1. @rzombie1988: Yea, since we do the same thing for the CMLL site, but make sure to list AAA’s site as a source (to make it easy in case they ask us to take it down later.)

  2. On the wrestler profile section I don’t know why they have a section for AAA stars and LLL stars when they just put everybody under AAA and nobody under LLL.

The old site is still up. Is this new site really an official AAA site or is it a fancy fan site?

No doubt that the site they had running until 2005 was the best one to date. That one was REALLY proffesional. The one they have now is definately an improvement over the previous one but it’s still not as proffesional as the original.

  3. You know some of the lineups in mid-August should be interesting when half the CMLL roster is in Spain. A lot of guys may make TV that we don’t normally see along with the mini’s since none of them are going on the tour.

  4. I’m watching the All-Star game on FSE. Love seeing the Lucha ads during such a prestigious game. It’s also cool hearing the annoucer say, “Sssssssssssssientete”! for a strike out.
