DTU (FRI) 07/04 Bar Litros, Tulancingo, Hidalgo [Notimex
5) Extreme Tiger & Halloween b Joe Lider & X-Fly and Dance Boy & Violento Jack
Halloween put Violento jack thru light bulbs for the win. After the match, Nicho joined his partners in beating up DTU people until Crazy Boy led the entire locker room out to make the save. A Hermandad vs DTU extreme match was teased for the next show.
Sololuchas says Zorro was hurt in Acapulco on July 5.
(Super Luchas #271) Ultimo Dragon faced and beat “Dark Dragon” for his mask on 06/25 in Barcelona on a NWE show. I’ve read the angle they’ve run was Dark Dragon was revealed to be Ultimo’s brother. In reality, it’s was Hajime Ohara. Logically enough, Dragon’s working with angle with his own protege.
The list of CMLL wrestlers head to Spain in August seems to be, at the moment: Dos Caras Jr., Damian 666, Mr. Aguila, Olimpico, Lizmark Jr., Maximo, La Mascara, Valiente, Hijo de Fantasma, Euforia, and Nosferatu. Can you take Lizmark Jr. to a foreign country and be sure you’ll get him back?
Perro Aguayo Jr. says he does want to win Leyenda de Plata, which is worth noting since he broke the trophy and calimed he didn’t care about the award last time he won. Perro also says he doesn’t care about winning titles or hairs, just about proving he’s the best. This works out well, because he doesn’t seem to win titles or hair lately.
Lucha Libre London gets a positive review on the Londonist. Amusingly, they thought the worst match of the night was Solar vs Negro Navarro. A match that runs counter to expectations doesn’t work unless those expectations are fully formed. There’s another review on Figure Four, also positive.
Accion features highlights of the CMLL main event (lots of spots, emphasis on Negro and Niebla beating the champs clean) and the AAA main event from Irapuato. Both segments seemed to get longer than usual.
Noticias Voz writes about old Oaxacian wrestler Demon Red, who never lost his mask but reveals his identity in the article.
Some additional lineups for next week.

FRAM as in FRAM Autofilters. They’ve got an ad for this near the back of Luchas 2000, and unmentioned elsewhere. I have no idea if the main is for the (existing for one night) title or if it’s a “judges choose the best trio” deal.

Well, the Zorro and Acapulco note says that he wouldn’t work that Acapulco show because he got hurt before, as reported elsewhere (lomejordelalucha-worst name for a site considering it covers mty (blame third six pack, “evil grin”)
So RFC gets a free dinner.
What a fall Sarah Stock took on FSE tonight. Ouch!
I also watched the 100% Lucha from Argentina. Lots of tables, chairs, run-ins, etc…
@luchalibrelive!: Sure you weren’t watching AAA?
So now USA FSE is only a week behind?
@Rob: I watched that too. Enjoyed Extreme Tiger working with Evans and Hart. Tiger is improving.
I need to find a way to watch 100% lucha.
I heard their house shows draws huge crowds.
cienporcientolucha.com.ar is their website. They did some big looking crowds last year. When my girlfriend was in Argentina, someone gave her a flier for an indy show with guys not on the 100% Lucha tv show. It was fun at first, now it’s just guys doing extreme style in every match.
Yay! CMLL to Spain!
@Pecharroman:
If I can, I will go to see them.
Hi Pecharroman, long time to see you ;)
Well, I bet the Argentina guys didn’t want to come of as wimps after the Bolivian catchascanistas Cholas are doing flaming tables spots…
that tag title match should be good. i can see Perro/Averno winning the straps, but we’ll have to see. i am definitely looking forward to that match. hopefully someone will have it up so we can see it.
The wrestling from Argentina is financed by Telefe network, so I’m surprised that they do such violence. Big difference from last year. They are still touring too. About 6 house shows a month based on what I see on tv and the website.
there’s 2 big promotions down there though isnt there? 100% Lucha and Lucha Fuerte right? from what i’ve seen 100% Lucha seems to be the promotion that uses more extreme type matches while Lucha Fuerte is more comedic with all those weird characters and what not. i’ve only seen a handful of matches from each promotion, but i like what i see from down there, especially from 100% Lucha. no sites really cover the wrestling down there though.
don’t know about Lucha Fuente. I think Vicente Viloni from 100% Lucha could work abroad though.
yeah, Viloni is good. i like what i’ve seen from Steve Murphy too.
and i was mistaken, Lucha Fuerte was the main promotion in the 80s and i dont think it’s active anymore. the GM of 100% Lucha, Ruben Peucelle, was the top star of Lucha Fuerte.
100% Lucha also has a brazilian copeira gimmick which is really cool. but if Americans saw him, they’d just call him “Kofi Kingston” because that’s the mentality.
i’ve seen him, and he actually looks to be quite a bit better than Kofi Kingston. and you’re right, most american fans would immediately assume that, even though they are each from completely different countries and 2 completely different parts of the world.
i think Rey Jr. has been watching CMLL. Tonight, he did a Superfly off the top rope with his arms tight to his body, like Stuka. I don’t really remember seeing him do that before.
well he has been sitting at home for the past 6 months. i can see him watching CMLL while he was healing, and studying moves from the mid card flyers. that’s what he was when he wrestled there and i would imagine he likes to see what the flyers are doing these days. i think certain moves he had to stop doing, as it was causing him pain to perform and i dont think he wants to get hurt again.
it’s funny seeing Stuka do that move, then Rey do it on RAW.
So Bruce, are you voting for Obama or McCain?
McCain.
I’m thinking McCain will win. I’m registered to vote in Florida, where my vote may matter, as opposed to NY, liberal cesspool, that will vote for Obama.
I don’t know who will win but if McCain wins, America might blow up(not literally). We all know Obama will win the popular vote like every Democrat. People actually like Obama on a personal level and conservatives don’t dislike him, expect a lot of emotions to come out if he loses.
McCain disappointed me so far because he trying to appeal to the far right and the McCain I used too like was a guy that stand up against his own party when he knew things were not right.
Congratulations Rob and his new wife.
And now lets talk about lucha libre.
@USAUSA1: For the record I didn’t get married.:) I just wanted to make sure that was pointed out incase Leelee Sobieski or that blonde with the great rack from the wedding on Sunday happen to read Cubs’ blog.
