07/01: Torreon, lineups

CMLL

CMLL (SUN) 06/29 Plaza de Toros Torreon [el siglo de torreon]
1) Espacial & Tackle b Arana Cibernetica I & Arana Cibernetica I
2) Piloto Negro & Sexy Piscis b Piloto Suicida & Scriba
3) Pentagoncito b Mini Maximo [LAGUNA MINI]
4) Diamante Negro & Mr. Guerrero b Angel Azteca Jr. & Metalico
5) Místico, Negro Casas, Volador Jr. b Black Warrior, Villano IV, Villano V

There’s complains about the length of the main event – tecnicos took straight falls, no Negro turn here – and Mini Maximo’s perfomance (very green.) Attendence is mentioned as 4,000.

In his Box Y Lucha interview, Rey Cometa says he’s hoping Shocker will able to help him get into CMLL. He feels he wasn’t paid right in AAA and there’s too much favortism going on there. Welcome to wrestling.

CMLL posted last Friday’s main event on TerraTV in 1 2 3 4

  1. I, for one, am never watching LyC again until a new person runs the building.:)

ByL forum reporting Lady Apache has jumped to AAA. THE TIDE HAS TURNED!

Hopefully AAA’s website will have the Acapulco lineup later tonight since they’re currently updating with Irapuato pictures.

This is the first time in the history of CMLL that they could put together a Space Cadets/Fuerza Aerea style team if they chose to. Metalik, Metal Blanco, Rey Cometa and Mascara Purpura – all with new gimmicks though.

  2. ByL F. is also reporting that Volador Jr no showed Puebla last night because a car accident, sounds bad, roll over… word is that he’s fine but his family might be hurt, hope this was wrong and he showed for another reason or that the accident as not that severe.

  3. I looked at some fake_mistico posts on byl and don’t think it’s Robert.

Another “Apache” in AAA is cool I guess.

  4. @xuisaw: lol

Hey, has XHJ in Guadalajara been airing CMLL? I noticed on the tvguide, it’s showing Sera Anunciada on Monday nights when CMLL used to air.

  5. I think the GDL show airs on Wednesdays.

No time for Canada Day. Today was Free Agent Day.

  6. @Rob: Thanks. Yes, GDL CMLL is Wednesday.

Esmas and tvguide also have CMLL as one-hour on Saturday. Wonder what makes the air for a one-hour show?

Now that the year is already half over, I’m already starting to think of the awards. It’s looking as bad as the US Presidential election if Lucha keeps up this way. There really are no feuds, no new characters, just nothing happening in either CMLL or AAA to get excited about.

  7. Filler stuff, they running several years old shows… maybe it won’t be aired this time again… I wonder if AAA is going to rent Juan de la Barrera more often now… Televisa needs to fill up that timeslot…

  8. @luchalibrelive!:

I won’t really say that. The CMLL March ppv, Rey De Reyes and Triplemania has all been great major shows.

The mini’s resurgence has spark an interest in Lucha again and provided many of great matches.

You always get a good match on C3 these days.

Whether you hate it or like it, Hart Foundation 2.0 is two fresh new guys that’s been getting a push and hasn’t been bad despite people complaining about them being US indy/non draws.

Really, there’s no promotion out there that is having a better first half. Wrestling is weak right now.

  9. @USAUSA1: For the record I think Jack is great for AAA and is the only guy that has been brought in that has gotten over and turned himself into a possible future draw. My issue is with guys like Teddy Hart, Bryan Danielson and Bobby Lashley who mean nothing now and will never mean anything for business.

  10. @xuisaw: Which timeslot does Televisa need to fill? I’m thinking you were right, and Televisa and CMLL will work it out.

Problem with Juan de la Barrera is that they always wanted big tv rights fees, so Pena left. I don’t know that it has changed.

Maybe NWA Mexico will get the timeslot if it opens up.

  11. That TV rights fee might be a bogus story made up by Peña… I know that TVC did not air a match with Wagner, Park, Hijo del Santo and Demon Jr because the later 2 wanted tv fee rights, but the venue asking for it would make other places start charging as well…

That Gym is owned by the government (made for the 68 Olympic games IIRC), so the guys running it should be long gone with the government changing each 6 years.

I’m pretty sure “NWA Mexico” is an attempt by US guys to put up a ROH type of promotion but taped in Mexico-and selling DVDs to the States’ fans- to have huge crowds (by comparison), the talk was having cards of one fall singles matches… yeah right, like we need to see Anibal Jr vs Super Muñeco in a weekly basis… I don’t see it being interesting for Televisa… mainly because the old stiffs they say they’ll use don’t draw anymore, except Hijo del Santo, of course, but he’s smart enough to let them run a few shows on their own before joining.

  12. So Lady Apache went back to AAA I wonder what part will she play with Fabi/Billy/Gran and would she reconcile with Electro?

Ok question, is Negro still tecnico and is it just Heavy Metal thats a rudo now?
