06/22: Guapos, Mesias, Tijuana, Links

SuperLuchas confirms message board rumors – Decnnis and Guaptio have unjumped and are sticking with AAA. Scorpio is still leaving, and no one has any idea what Zumbido is doing.

Mesias was scheduled to work a Panama show for a Puerto Rician promotion, but no-showed with the fans being told Mesias was attacked, but being held for questioning because he fought back. Very strange, especially that it’s not been reported from any Mexican source.

UMLL (FRI) 06/20 Auditorio de Tijuana [frontera]
1) Rubi Gardeina DRAW Diamantina
2) Hijo de Rey Misterio & Rey Misterio Sr. b Angel Blanco Jr. & Hijo del Espectro Jr.
3) Cien Caras Jr. & LA Park b Blue Demon Jr. & Rayo de Jalisco Jr. [Relevos Increíbles]

Cien/Park won the first fall, Demon turned on Rayo in the second. Rey Sr. challenged for a shot at Angel Blanco’s title after the semifinal win. Which is odd, because Angel Blanco lost his title to Mistico in February. Maybe he got a new one?

Accion’s CMLL highlights focused on the Casas turn. Unusual for a turn like that to still lead to the splitting team getting the victory. Maybe they just wanted to make it clear the Casas’ were not going with the Perros? AAA’s highlights were of title match, with them starting when Konnan got involved. Roldan’s bump in the corner looks painful (because it was painful, of course – they showed him bleeding after the finish and mentioned him being in the hospital.)

Ovaciones is mostly previews – IWRG and CMLL, and talk about Niebla’s match next Friday to set up a mask giveaway contest (and a picture of Niebla with his mask off, facing away from the camera.) There’s also an interview with the Kripta, Sepulcro, Lapida trio.

– KrisZ has notes from a Mistico interview – he’s happy the other guys are going to TNA, becuase it’ll prove the strength of CMLL.

Damian 666 is critical of Dr. Wagner after Friday’s main event, mostly firing back Wagner’s words while on hiatus (“everyone in CMLL are puppets”) since he’s now back with CMLL.

– quick article about Friday/Sunady’s legends ceremony. Ringo Mendoza is still looking for an official retirement match, team with el Faraon versus Satanico & Emilio Charles Jr.

– “Lucha Libre is not for clowns”. (Psycho Circus respectfully disagree.) If you’re dying for an article quoting Tony Salazar and Gran Apache about how lucha libre sucks, the same has been said in the last 24 articles of this sort…

  1. I’m glad Guapito and Decnis are at least staying in AAA, if only because Guapito on TV is so awesome. It would have been a real shame if there was no follow-up to the huge beat-down Porky got at TripleMania from Guapos VIP. If AAA is smart, (which, from what I understand from you guys is a big IF, given Konnan’s fascination for foreigners) I expect the war between Porky and Brazo/Guapos to be quite bloody and outstanding.

  2. i wouldnt expect much to come of it. Decnnis and Brazo Jr. isnt much of a unit. they need to bring in at least one other guy and it has to be someone that can captain the squad. if Zumbido stays, they’re fine, without Zumbido or Scorpio it’s not a strong enough team.

  3. I thought Alan of the revamped Barrio Boyz was joining the revamped Guapos VIP, so I read. My question is this: What was the point of restarting the Barrio Boyz and turning Alan technico again, when they were just going to yank him from the group and put him in with the Guapos (which they should have just did) and turn him rudo (yet again?).

I’m also glad Decnnis and Guapito decided not to jump and they decided to stay. As much as hate to see El Brazo turn Rudo again, this his should have been Guapos VIP:

    Scorpio Jr.
    Decnnis
    Alan
    Zumbido
    El Brazo
    Guapito

And with Scorpio and Zumbido (maybe, but I hope he changes his mind) jumping, Guapos VIP would still be strong and Decnnis would have assumed leadership of the Guapos. Now, assuming Zumbido stays, Zumbido could have been de-facto leader with three guys to work with, Decnnis and Alan would still be elevated and they still would have a vet in EL Brazo to work with.

Another Question, What happened to Los Bellos Stone? Did Calo and Chris Stone jump?

  4. @k.D.b:

Alan – I think they only came up with the new Barrios to give those guys something to do. They didn’t know they’d need more Guapos at that time.

Super Calo has gone back to the indies and should turn up in IWRG any second now. Chris hasn’t been listed on any recent cards and I don’t know if he’d even get a mention if he left – he’s been in a quiet limbo a lot in recent years.

  5. without the rest of the Stones in AAA maybe Alan Stone will rejoin the Guapos. he and Zumbido were a solid team, and the 2 of them with Decnnis make a nice Trios.

  6. Rossy Moreno lost her hair just before leaving (saying that in good terms) AAA, so who knows what Zumbido losing might mean. Things are getting weirder as Gladiatores just showed pics of Guapito with Scorpio Jr at last night IWRG show…

  7. Gladiatores says Zumbido is staying in AAA, the cage match was:

Brazo, Zumbido & Decniz vs Alan Stone, Chris Stone and Intocable.

Intocable took the hair here, he said he’ll be taking bookings from August onwards, but I don’t know anymore… I guess AAA would have given Z’ hair to Alan Stone but maybe they ironed out things with Intocable, if that’s so, I guess Alan, Zumbido and Decniz can be the Guapos with Brazo, and maybe Guapito who’s probably hoping to work for both or something.

  8. One Guapo To Live soap opera continues…

Zumbido and Guapito are booked in Naucalpan on Thursday and Sunday.
