06/20 GALLI show

this was meant to be posted yesterday, but I’m still getting used to things apparently. Also, since it’s now raining like crazy, I may now be going to this show…

GALLI (FRI) 06/20 the Edge II Ice Arena, Bensenville, IL
1) Intrepid & Mr. Zeus vs El Emperador & Stress
2) Centella de Oro & Nemesis (GALLI) vs Chilango & Tornado
3) Silueta Dorada & Slayer vs Funebre & Venganza
4) Meteoro I, Meteoro II, Samuray vs Gringo Loco, Guerrillero, Pentgaono del Infierno
5) Charly Manson Jr., Golden Star, Quinto Sol vs Coco Blanco, Coco Green, Coco Orange

Show starts at 7. Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for kids, all general admission.

I’ve got plans elsewhere, but this should be a fun show. They’ve also got the latest edition of their magazine (pdf) and a couple videos (1, 2 – there’s a WrestleTube? Why?)

06/20: Guapos jump to IWRG, Pantera loses his hair

CMLL

IWRG (THU) 06/19 Arena Naucalpan [superluchas]
1) Rockero del Diablo b Eragon
2) Trauma I & Trauma II b Bugambilia & Miss Gavitoa
3) Capitán Muerte, Karloff Lagarde Jr., Xibalva b Chico Che, Freelance, Zatura
4) Centauro, el Hijo Del Anibal, Rayman DQ Máscara Año 2000, Ricky Cruzz, Universo 2000
5) El Dandy b Pantera [hair]

Big news from the show was that semifinal DQ – Scorpio Jr. and Guapito running in to attack the tecnicos. Decnnis posed with the back stage, so add him to the list of jumpers. The group (including Zumbido) will now be called Los Guapos Inc. AAA apparently owns “Guapos VIP”, though Scorpio says only he and Shocker have the right to start Guapos group.

Pantera took the first fall of the main event, but Dandy took the second and appeared to use a foreign object to take the third.

– the stamps honoring Santo and el Hijo del Santo came out this week. In Universal, Hijo del Santo says he figured all six stamps would be of his father, and was surprised to find out they wanted to do half of them with him. The six stamps go on sale today for 150 pesos ($15.60 US) – though it seems like I get different prices in different articles. There’s also a Santo exhibition at the main post office. This story got picked up everywhere

Hector Garza is feuding with Tigre Hispano. Who knew? Not me. Tiger Hispano has now had more feuds than Olimpico has had in the last three years.

The Casas Brothers also want a shot at Hector Garza’s CMLL Trios titles. Guerreros and Perros have already made challenge. When asked which Perro he’d like to face in a hair match, Negro Casas picks Damian 666. Well, that’s sensible if not tough.

– What can you get out of Silver King’s intro with AAA? He’s definitely going back to wearing a mask. I wonder how Santo feels about that.

hype for tonight’s Tijuana show. Main is Demon/Rayo vs Cien Jr./Park. The article talk about LA park having face such people as Goldberg and Hulk Hogan – I don’t remember that Hogan match.

– El Sol de Zacatecas has a bio of young local wrestler El Cabo de la Muerte.

– Record #2 has Dr. Wagner Jr. on the cover.

Tonight’s card:

CMLL (FRI) 06/20 Arena Mexico
1) Arkangel de la Muerte & Hooligan vs Astro Boy & Starman
2) Máscara Púrpura, Máximo, Metalik vs Diamante Negro, Dr. X, Vangelis
3) Felino, Grey Shadow, La Sombra vs Ephesto, Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca
4) Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., Místico vs Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero
5) Dr. Wagner Jr., Heavy Metal, Negro Casas vs Damián 666, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Mr. Águila

Main event is hyped as Wagner helping the Casas brothers get revenge. Semimain has the last two teams the new champs beat to win the CMLL Trios titles. Tercera is Sangre/Shadow, perhaps.

06/29 AAA TV Lineup (Irapuato)

AAA TV (SUN) 06/29 Palenque del Inforun, Irapuato
1) Argenis, el Ángel, Gato Eveready vs Nygma, Polvo de Esterllas, Yuriko
2) Gran Apache & Mari Apache vs Cinthia Moreno & Oriental
3) ?, Billy Boy, Super Fly vs ?, Black Abyss, Histeria
4) El Alebrije, El Elegido, Super Porky, Tinieblas Jr. vs Decnnis, El Brazo, Scorpio Jr., Zumbido
5) Chessman (w/Cibernetico) vs Ozz (w/Mesias)
6) ?, La Parka Jr., Vampiro vs Electro Shock, Kenzo Suzuki, Zorro

Projected Air Date (#843)
Mexico: 07/06
US: 07/26
This is all iffy until we know how they explain how TripleMania will air.

Some changes will have to be made. IWRG results are to come, but the relevant part is Scorpio, Zumbido, Decnnis and Guapito have all jumped from AAA to IWRG and will have their first match on 06/29. There’s no way they’ll be here for that. Ex Barrio Boy Alan was mentioned as new Guapo member when it seemed like Decnnis might be staying in AAA, but they’re going to need more than that.

Oriental was also mentioned this past week in the WON as leaving AAA, but I haven’t heard that confirmed anywhere. If he’s there, that’s a non-title match with the Morenos possibly getting a title shot if they win.

There’s no explanation for all the ? slots – it really shouldn’t be that hard to pick someone for the under card matches, as long as you know who’s available.

Cibernetico as Chessman’s second seems like the start of some more problems.

Announced Future Tapings
– 07/05 Acapulco
– 07/13 Salamanca
– 07/20 Monterrey

World X Cup Notes

I love ESTO dearly, because after carrying the story about UG and Rey getting their visas, they tried to talk to Averno and Volador to see if they had their documents. They couldn’t get a hold of them, sadly, but that’s the level of paranoia and distrust this TNA/CMLL relationship requires.

Let’s pretend this is actually going to happen for a second…

TNA announced the point system for the World X Cup
1 point for a singles win
2 points for a tag win
3 points for the team that wins their 12 man Cibernetico (except not called that) at the PPV
4 points for the person who wins their Ultimate X jungle gym match

If I were team captain Ultimo Guerrero (just assuming), I’d divide it up like so
– Ultimo and Rey in the tag match, naturally
– Averno in the singles match – he’s a TWO CROWN champion*, he’s good for this
– Volador in the Ultimate X match – he’d work good doing highly dangerous things
– Ultimo/Rey/Averno in the Cibernetico – which I want them to win more than anything else

* – they really need to have the whole crew bring their belts. Not only do you get the freakout when Averno is holding a NWA belt on a TNA show, but then someone has to explain why Ultimo Guerrero is the best-est despite the only one not having any gold.
