06/12: GDL

CMLL (SUN) 06/08 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [CMLL]
1) Palacio Negro & Thunder Boy b Milenio & Valentin Mayo
2) Fraile de la Muerte & Güero Loco b Idolo & Nube Roja
3) Mini Maximo b Fire
4) Casanova & Máximo b Infierno & Malefico
5) Exterminador (Guadalajara) b Lider [hair]
6) Heavy Metal & Shocker DQ Toscano & Toxico (Guadalajara)
7) Dos Caras Jr. b Último Guerrero [CMLL HEAVY]

Toxico replaced Lizmark Jr. No way all four guys were making that match. Toscano fouled Metal.

Hablando de Catch has many photos of lucha libre sculputre and artwork, including the Mexico City giant creepy skeletons from last fall.

Zorro says his match with Cibernetico isn’t as much abotu the title as proving he’s the best in AAA. Which is sorta supposed to be the point of that title, but they’re not there yet. Zorro hopes to embarrass Ciber and says Prez Roldan should’ve stayed safe in his office.

This article about Blue Demon Jr.’s appreciation of surf music (really) mentions the first NWA Mexico show will be on August 30th in the subhead but doesn’t actually follow up on it at all in the article.

  1. hey cubs, i didnt know where else to post this, but on 6/19/08 Alex Koslov will be facing Kazarian on TNA Impact. Kazarian wins, but from what i heard they let Koslov hit all of his spots. that’s apparently the start of the World X Cup officially. and Tyson Dux has been officially added to Team International. hopefully the visa problem will get fixed within 2 weeks, if not then we’re probaly looking at TNA grabbing some quick american indy workers who were masks from Florida, like Dark Fuego and that’ll be the team. that or they’ll just not include a Team Mexico and do things differently.

  2. If the visa problem doesn’t get fixed, it’s good times for Incognito, Sicodelico Jr., Magno, and whomever else they can get from El Paso/Juarez in a hurry.

I probably should be mentioning Alex’s TNA matches, but the whole visa thing has killed my enthusiasm. If Averno and company had made it, I’m pretty sure I’d made some attempt to figure out the rules by now.

  3. here are the rules from the last one in 2006:

The competition is divided into three rounds.

In Round One, there are two tag team matches. The two winning teams get two points apiece.
In Round Two, there are two singles matches. The winners get three points for their respective teams.
In Round Three, there will be a gauntlet involving all 16 wrestlers. The last two remaining wrestlers receive two points apiece for their respective teams. The winner gets an additional three points for his team. If the final two are on the same team, then they will automatically receive all seven points, and thus win the tournament.
In the event of a tie, the captains of the two teams will compete in a singles match in order to determine the champion

this year seems to be alittle different as there is a singles match in the first round.

  4. Yes but when do they incorporate the reverse battle royale or cage match that has a scaffold on top of it?
