AAA #828

I lost a bunch of these teasers. And I think I’m skipping over a GdR for the moment. My TV not actually working has slowed things down a bit, but I think I’ve got it licked. (I did not lick the TV. Probably.)

taped 03/09, aired in the US on 04/12

Was Joe Lider’s injury here setup for his turn, or just him being hurt again? Not sure it matters.

Triangle match was pretty good. I get disappointed when anyone in the group goes for a chair, because it seems the cheap heat working equivalent of telling the fans they suck, but there was a lot more stuff to like here. They only got seven minutes, but they made a lot out of it. The Stones/tecnicos stuff at the end was really good.

If you were just starting to watch this week, you’d have no idea what exactly the deal is between Cibernetico and Mesias but you’d understand a lot of stuff has happened and it’s a big deal after watching those frantic video packages. They’re not very coherent but they’re not meant to be.

I bet Halloween was thrilled to finally get a win, but I would’ve gladly never mentioned them losing all of the time if they skipped that match in exchange. Main event was a little better than expected, but keeping it to six minutes helped a bunch.

stuck in the dark (matches)

So, a couple weekends ago, Henrik was suggesting that Neutron was getting jobbed on TV appears and it occurred to me that I have a giant database that can prove or disprove this.

Long story short, here’s the list of the wrestlers with the most CMLL DF matches which haven’t aired since CadenaTres started. Openers are ignored, because they’re not expected to air. No PPVs either.

This is a lot of Coliseo segunda and the odd Arena Mexico tercera. Make a guess before clicking the link.

05/27: Monterrey, AAA notes

Ovaciones has Arturo Rivera breaking news, left and right.
– Fabi vs Mari at TripleMania appears to a hair match
– The Rey Cometa listed on tonight’s Arena Queretaro card is the actual (now ex-)AAA guy. AAA’s dropped him for “unprofessional behavior.”
– Rossy Moreno is joining IWRG. Maybe we’ll find out if Amapola still has that belt. There’s a post on the box y lucha board suggesting Martha Villalobos and associated women might go with, but I think that’s incorrect because Martha’s still promoting AAA spot shows.
– random accusations towards Fantasma Jr. – he’s telling people he can speak multiple languages and he’s licensed and he may not be.

In a radio appearances, Arturo also said Dr. Wagner will NOT be at TripleMania – he’s still demanding more than AAA wants to give.

There’s also an interview with Damian 666 in Ovacionoes, who says the Perros will be adding no new members – seven is enough to win both trios titles so they don’t need any more. They’ve got no problem teaming with the Villanos, but if the Imperial Dynasty gets between them and a world title, the Perros will turn on them.

Tonight’s Arena Mexico show is a Fan Apperciation show, with all tickets 30 pesos ($3US). Main event is the first GdI team up since Bucanero’s turn vs Mistico, Shocker and Panther. Either they’re running an angle and they want many people to see it (Fabian/Diamante would be logical, except no Fabian), or they just want to remind people there’s lucha libre in Arena Mexico on Tuesdays, not just Fridays.

Oriental is quoted in a magazine as saying he and Cinthia defended the mixed tag team titles 150 times. We have, uh, 4 defenses. Oriental and Cinthia would have to be defending the title about 3 times a week, every single week, to get to 150 defenses. Probably closer to 4, to account for holiday and injury breaks.

indy (FRI) 05/30 Casino Leonistico de Queretaro [superluchas]
1) Mr. Dinamita vs Enrique Lopez
2) Estrellita Queretina & Lady vs Luna Mágica & Princesa Guerrera
3) Dark Boy & Dragon del Oriente vs Black Saint & Dark Crazy
4) La Parkita & Mascarita Sagrada vs Mini Mosco de la Merced & Octagoncito
5) Danger & Hijo del Huracan Ramirez vs Mosco de la Merced II & Veneno
6) Dr. Wagner Jr., El Hijo Del Santo, Groon XXX vs Blue Demon Jr., Cien Caras Jr., Pierko el Boricua

Luna Magica can’t be right, and probably doesn’t matter because I can’t imagine her wrestling a week after taking that header. Pierko isn’t going back to CMLL any time soon.
