06/13 AAA TV Lineup (TripleMania – DF)

Previous: 05/25 (Morelia), 05/30 (Cancun), 06/01 (Merida)

FINAL LINEUP

AAA TV (FRI) 06/13 Palacio de los Deportes [triplea.com.mx]
1) Aerostar, Laredo Kid, Super Fly vs Cuervo, Escoria, Ozz
2) Alan Stone, Octagón, Super Porky vs Black Abyss, Mr. Niebla, Psicosis
3) Brian Danielson, Jack Evans, Teddy Hart vs Extreme Tiger, Halloween, TJ Xtreme and Crazy Boy, Juventud Guerrera, Ricky Marvin
4) Fabi Apache vs Mari Apache [hair]
5) Vampiro vs Mesias [extreme]
6) Bobby Lashley, Electro Shock, Kenzo Suzuki vs ?, Chessman, La Parka Jr.
7) Cibernetico vs Zorro [AAA HEAVY]

The trios semimain is billed as a battle of nations (did Electrshock get ex-patrioted? And Kenzo?). If it was Latin, you think they’d announce it today. Chessman takes Charly’s spot there.

That’s not the right match for Brian Danielson, but maybe he’ll find a way to be awesome anyway. Since it’s just going to be lunacy regardless, it’s strange Lider/Nicho/X-Fly aren’t here to make it a four way.

One can assume Abismo Negro is done here for the time being. Taking him off TripleMania is a big step. Hope his restaurant is doing well. Guapos lose out, as the Vipers take their spots on the card.

No Clowns. That seems to have been a waste of time.

——
05/06 Edit: Poster claims his a friend of the wrestlers in the company, and they promised him this was official. The poster has seven posts on the board, which is always disconcerting, though one of them was announcing AAA’s Dos y Tres magazine. I dunno about this one, but I figure it can get shot down pretty quickly if it’s wrong.

05/06 notes:

The poster goes on to claim that Lashely is 90% confirmed and would be one of the mystery spots.

No sign of Chessman or the Lider/Nicho faction. I guess you can’t book Nicho this far down the line seriously.

05/04 Edit:

AAA President Joaquin Roldan will be in Cibernetico’s corner. Konnan will be in Zoro’s corner.

05/31: Mexico, pending debuts, lineups

CMLL (FRI) 05/30 Arena Mexico [ovaciones, ESTO, superluchas]
1) Calígula & Méssala b Astro Boy & Molotov
2) Dark Angel, Lady Apache, Marcela b Amapola, Hiroka, Princesa Sujei
3) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto b La Sombra, Sagrado, Volador Jr. [CMLL TRIOS, qf, torneo]
4) Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., Místico DQ Villano III, Villano IV, Villano V [CMLL TRIOS, qf, torneo]
5) Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., Místico b Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto [CMLL TRIOS, sf, torneo]
6) Heavy Metal, Marco Corelone, Shocker DQ Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Mr. Aguila, Terrible
7) Atlantis, Lizmark Jr., Último Guerrero b Héctor Garza, LA Park, Negro Casas

In the main event, Ultimo fouled Negro and got away with it. Hector hurt his knee on his tornillo. ESTO says LA Park got into an argument with a former wrestler in the crowd who’s unidentified so far.

Perros destroyed the tecnicos, and Shocker’s gear, but went too far and got DQed for excessive violence. Shocker was alive enough to cut a promo on Perro for a singles match, but they’ll be running an atomicos match with almost everyone next week.

Villanos opted to destroy Panther and yank off his mask rather than try and win the trios titles here. Panther wasn’t able to help much in the semifinal, but Dos and Mistico were enough to beat the reformed Triad of Terror in a four minute match

CMLL announced a whole bunch of new novatos on 06/08 in Coliseo
– Caifan I
– Soberano (Euforia’s brother)
– Catedrático (?)
– Corsario (should be India Sioux’s brother, Rey Bucanero’s cousin)
– Hechicero (there’s a Madero/Tampico local wrestler with that name)

Arturo Rivera’s column made it to the Ovaciones website proper. As expected: jabs at Wagner, jabs at CMLL for insta-feuds while they’ve spent months building their matches for 06/13. Arturo says BOTH shows will be on PPV, which is news about the CMLL show if true, and says the AAA show will be available on the internet. Where? I have no idea.

Noroeste.com interviews Fuerza Guerrera, who’s wrestling Dr. Wagner Jr. in Mazatlan next week. Fuerza’s pretty happy not to be in AAA anymore.

CMLL (TUE) 06/03 Arena Mexico
1) Artillero & Zayco vs Rayo Tapatío I & Rayo Tapatío II
2) Flash, Metalik, Súper Nova vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Hooligan, Nitro
3) Axxel, Fabián el Gitano, Máximo vs Diamante Negro, Euforia, Nosferatu
4) Black Warrior, Lizmark Jr., Sangre Azteca vs Grey Shadow, Heavy Metal, Héctor Garza
5) Blue Panther vs Último Guerrero

CMLL (FRI) 06/06 Arena Mexico
1) Metálico & Tigre Blanco vs Apocalipsis & Ramstein
2) Lady Apache, Luna Mágica, Sahori vs Hiroka, Medussa, Mima Shimoda
3) Alex Koslov, Sagrado, Volador Jr. vs Ephesto, Misterioso II, Mr. Águila
4) Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero vs Héctor Garza, Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara and Máscara Año 2000, Olímpico, Universo 2000 and Felino, LA Park, Máximo [CMLL TRIOS, sf, torneo]
5) Heavy Metal, Marco Corelone, Negro Casas, Shocker vs Damián 666, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Terrible, Texano

Not sure what’s going on with the Trios tournament. A rudo team in the final makes sense, but the Dinamitas and Olimpico vs a Mistico team doesn’t quite work. If Atlantis is still having a celebration on 06/13, he can’t quite win here. Maybe they’ll change teams again this week.

05/30: Cage Match expands, TNA/CMLL deal announced, Neza, IWRG

CMLL

Lots and lots of coverage of CMLL’s press conference yesterday. As it turns out, most of the stuff either had already came out, or I already had some how figured out on a hunch. Nice to get it confirmed.

– The 7 man Jucio Final cage match is now a ten man cage match. Shocker got his wish and is now in the match, but so are Marco Corelone and Mr. Aguila. At least one of those guy is going to to some insane off the top of the cage, maybe both. The teams

Perros: Perro Jr., Damian 666, Terrible, Texano, Aguila
forces of good: Negro Casas, Heavy Metal, Alex Koslov, Marco Corelone, Shocker

It turns out Damian is wrong – this doesn’t leave the Perros enough people to challenge for the Trios titles. Maybe Ephesto can earn himself a shirt if he wins on Friday (though Mistierioso would’ve been better.)

– The CMLL/TNA deal was the second big announcement here. Hector Guerrero, credited with brokering the deal from TNA’s side, appeared at the press conference to represent that group.

As had been reported in the Observer, CMLL will send a team to TNA’s World X Cup: Ultimo Guerrero, Rey Bucanero, Volador Jr., and Averno. Also, Alex Koslov is being sent to work as part of “Team Other Countries That Don’t Have Their Own Team”. CMLL took a moment to note Dos Caras Jr. and Terrible were also offered, but then someone explained to them how the X Division is supposed to be smaller guys.

I would guess Averno & Volador’s spots were originally supposed to be Perro Jr. and Mistico. This probably will work out better. For their part, Hector claims there was no such conversation about Mistico and Perro not being involved and the Wrestling Observer should not be trusted in these matters. Kinda weird, of the 200 wrestlers on CMLL’s roster, they just happened to have the right 5 if they’re so otherwise wrong.

The 5 CMLL wrestlers will work TNA’s Orlando TV tapings on June 9, 10, 23, and 24, and then the Victory Road on July 13th in Houston.

TNA wrestlers mentioned as POSSIBLY coming in include Samoa Joe, Tomko, AJ Styles, Kurt Angle, and Booker T. Mar noted that none of the TNA guys coming to CMLL was confirmed. They’re trusting TNA to honor the deal and reciprocate with talent at a later point. (So one would assume they’re getting paid up front, because no one would be that dumb.) ESTO’s article quotes Panico as hoping the TNA guys will be in for the Anniversary show.

Steiner just worked Reina de Reinas and it seemed like AAA wanted to do more with him. I guess that’s not possible any more.

– Dr. Wagner Jr. returns to CMLL on June 13, though he was not at this press conference. Wagner met personally with Paco Alonso to work things out. Oddly, the story Panico went with here is Wagner was said in Box Y Lucha was “ill handled.” I guess he words were taken out of context every time after too, including the parts where he denied he was misquoted. (If the sarcasm didn’t translate: I don’t buy that story and wonder if Wagner will back it up. I think he’s best off just not talking about it.) Wagner will remain an independent but work for CMLL on occasion.

(other sources: CMLL, Ovaciones, Notimex 1, Notimex 2, Notimex 3, superluchas, ESTO, ESTO 2, ESTO 3)

Today:
– CMLL starts the trios tournament and builds up this cage match in Arena Mexico
– AAA wraps up the road to TripleMania with the first of two tapings this weekend.

CMLL (THU) 05/22 Arena Neza [thegladiatores]
1) Tormenta I & Tormenta II b Angel Perverso & Zakura
2) Kid Tiger & Trueno b Cholo & Vaquero
3) Celestial, Electrico, Shockercito b Fire, Mini Universo 2000, Pequeño Violencia
4) Dr. X, Nitro, Virus b Calígula, La Máscara, Méssala
5) Black Warrior, Sangre Azteca, Toscano b Grey Shadow, Shocker, Volador Jr.

No wins for Cholo! Even worse, he appears to be feuding with Kid Tiger, which can’t possibly end happily for Cholo.

Also feuding are the Romans and Tuareg. It’s the battle of Carthage all over again! It didn’t go well for the Romans for a while there, and it didn’t go well for the Romans here. Is Nitro actually Hannibal? Skandalo totally should have a rudo elephant gimmick.

CMLL (SUN) 05/25 Arena Neza [the gladiatores]
1) Ahijado de la Muerte & Danger Kid b Cosmico & La Mosca
2) Guardian de la Noche & Superman b Luis Cirio Jr. & Tony Cirio
3) Chamaco Davila, Guerrero Mistico, Puma King DQ Brazo Jr., Chico Che, Tiger Kid
4) Ciber Black & Súper Camaleón b Cholo & Yidra [trofeo Arena Neza]
5) La Máscara, Rayo Tapatío I, Stuka Jr. b Puma King, Rey Bucanero, Sangre Azteca

How did Cholo get in a match for a title? It was quite the match for people who never ever win. They teased a mask vs mask match after.

We didn’t get a lineup for show, but I’m betting Puma King was a replacement for Toscano.

IWRG (THU) 05/29 Arena Naucalpan [superluchas]
1) Jack & Rey de Corazones b Trauma I & Trauma II
2) Aeroman & Freelance b Avisman, Marco Rivera, Star Boy, Halcon 2000, Black Thunder, Dr. Cerebro, Cerebro Negro, Turbo [IWRG LIGHT, ciber]
3) Freelance b Aeroman [IWRG IC LIGHT]
4) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro b Demony, Septiembre Negro II, Veneno [EdM Trios]
5) Fuerza Guerrera b Multifacético [IWRG IC WELTER]
6) Hijo del Cien Caras & Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. b El Dandy & Silver King [IWRG IC TAG]

Fuerza is a new champion, with a little help from Black Terry. Freelance is the first lightweight champion.

1) Mascarita Divina & Mini Hombre sin Miedo vs Mini Charly Manson & Mini Rio Bravo
2) Babe Rap & Principe Diamante vs Rio Bravo & Tito Santana II
3) Estrellita & Fabi Apache vs La Diabólica & Mari Apache
4) Hombre Sin Miedo, Laredo Kid, Sangre Chicana vs Cuervo, Escoria, Ozz

indy (TUE) 06/03 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [RFC]
1) Mini Hator vs Mini Ejecutor
2) Angel Dorado Jr. & Mercurio vs Cuervo (local) & Ultratumba
3) Bam Bam (Monterrey), El Divo, Pantera Dorada vs Destructor, Dr. Tormenta, Magneto
4) Huracan Ramirez Jr., Super Nico, Ultramán Jr. vs Angel o Demonio, Rey Demonio Jr., Simbolo
5) Hator vs Estrella Dorado Jr.

Ricky Marvin is working spot shows before TripleMania.

I won’t be messing with the blog until at least after the shows air on Saturday.

05/29: Martha to IWRG, Super Nova to Spain, GDL

AAA

Tuesday, I noted a box y lucha post saying Martha Villalobos and her associated wrestlers where headed into IWRG and dismissed it because she’s still promoting AAA spot shows. Not any more. In today’s Ovaciones, Martha says she’s left AAA and will use independent wrestlers on her shows. I’d expect this means she is indeed going to IWRG.

Most of Ovaciones lucha coverage is a Villlano I profile, taken from their website. They also have the outdated trios teams for Friday.

Luchando Libre says the TNA/CMLL press conference is today.

Super Nova wrestling in Spain for NE again on June 10th and will be there for two months. He was presented as a one time replacement for Ultimo Dragon last time, but I guess that’s not the case. I presume Juvi’s on the show as well, but his name isn’t mentioned in the article. We do get Super Nova explaining he picked the name because he likes astronomy.

CMLL (SUN) 06/01 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Virgo vs Ebola
2) Goddess & Silueta vs Atenea & Medussa
3) Idolo, Lider, Nube Roja vs Danger (Guadalajara), Depredador (Gudalajara), Exterminador
4) Mini Maximo & Tzuki vs Fire & Pequeno Universo 2000
5) Gallo, Metal Blanco, Stuka Jr. vs Misterioso II, Mr. Trueno, Rey Bucanero
6) Alex Koslov, Heavy Metal, Shocker vs Mephisto, Mr. Águila, Toscano

CMLL (TUE) 06/03 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Poseidon vs Mileno
2) Carlo Roggi vs Azael
3) Metatron vs Güero Loco
4) Magnum vs Infierno
5) Leon Blanco vs Super Maquina
6) Casanova & Sagrado vs Máscara Mágica & Toxico
7) Alex Koslov, Marco Corelone, Shocker vs Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Toscano

These shows are part of the 49th Arena Anniversary Festival.

USG (THU) 06/05 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [superluchas]
1) Atena vs Siluleta
2) Virgo vs Thunder Boy
3) Güero Loco & Rafaga vs Idolo & Metatron
4) Blue Demon Jr. & Fuerza Tablacoca vs Infierno & Toscano

This is a non-CMLL show at a usual CMLL-arena.

05/30-06/01 lucha times

site advisement: I’m thinking about dumping MovableType and moving my blog software over to WordPress Friday night. MovableType has just been awful for me lately, and I rather try something else than try. I’m not really worried about doing the software change, it’s a matter of finding out if I actually will have time on Friday to do it, and not wanting to disrupt the usual Saturday discussion thread. (In a perfect world, I’d do it tomorrow, but I’m going to the game.)

Best case would be the site being up Saturday morning, but looking different, without all the sidebar links right away, and possibly the comments flowing a little different. But I haven’t decided if I’m doing it or not.

Anyway, if the site looks weird on Friday night, I’m working on it. And never be your own system admin.

box

AAA-US: Zorro gets a match versus Cibernetico to earn the right to fight Cibernetico. That actually makes more sense than Hart Foundation Dos vs Crazy/Juvi and Bello Stones vs FdT (instead of, say, Jack/Teddy vs Alan/Calo.)

CAN52: wherin we decide the bigger sure disaster – Los Perros members Averno & Mephisto teaming with Olimpico, or Luna Magica trying an Asai Moonsault.

FSE-US: After yet another replay of Sangre/Shadow. “Atlantis vs Shocker” means the main event from the 05/04 show (probably) and Bronco III making his US TV debut. US is now three weeks behind Mexico.

—-

CMLL: Depends on how much time they give the tag team tournament – might get the tercera, might not.

AAA-MEX: Quick turn around on Reina de Reinas. Kenzo Suzuki does wrestle, but in the main event, not the tournament (sadly.)

FSE-MEX: It seems like the Alex/Rey feud is tracking on this show, so we should be on the title match here. Also, Hooligan makes TV.

Cadena3: a packed crowd! A real Nitro main event – actually, no, there was a clean finish and the nWo wasn’t involved.
