CMLL (SUN) 04/06 Arena Coliseo
1) Méssala & Pólvora b Sensei & Trueno
2) Atomo, Pequeño Olímpico, Último Dragoncito DQ Pequeño Black Warrior, Pequeño Violencia, Pierrothito
3) Euforia, Nosferatu, Satánico b Fabián el Gitano, Leono, Tony Rivera

5) Mr. Águila, Terrible, Texano Jr. b Grey Shadow, Máximo, Valiente
6) Dos Caras Jr., Místico, Shocker DQ Atlantis, Toscano, Último Guerrero
It came down to UG and Mistico. Mistico got La Mistica, so UG yanked off his own mask and tossed it away. Somehow, Tigre Hispano bought this and gave him a DQ win.
Dark Angel pinned Amapola again. If it matters. Third match was completely unadvertised, has no pictures, and might be a typo on some level (or they’re doing a feud, I guess.) (Never mind, it was a typo.) Pierrothito yanked Dragoncito’s mask en route to a two fall loss.
CMLL posted it’s Kid’s Day lineup, which has one more match that last year (maybe for CadenaTres purposes?)
CMLL (WED) 04/30 Arena Mexico
1) Ángel Azteca Jr., Astro Boy, Sombra de Plata vs Artillero, Pólvora, Súper Comando

The tecnico vs tecnico trios title match finally makes it to DF, though not with the same lineup as elsewhere, where Purpura’s been in Fantasma’s spot.
I’ve got records of a Pequeno Ninja in Jalisco and Xalapa. No idea if this is the same guy. A Nino de Acero has been seen in Queretaro.
7pm is a late start for a Kid’s Day show.

(El_Jawa @ Satanico’s Mansion) Fray Tormenta is still upset Mistico hasn’t talked to him or donated anything to him. Either Fray Tormenta truly believes Mistico isn’t actually a kid from his orphanage (which would be odd, because that seems to be false) or Fray Tormenta thinks Mistico should pay the orphanage if he’s going to pretend to be from there.
SuperLuchas #258 has lots on WrestleMania.
Vampiro, never to wrestle again, is involved in some angle for the XPW reunion show.
Spain’s Publico goes to Arena Isabel and talks to Skandalo to find out about lucha libre. No, I know what you’re thinking, but it’s actually good.
El Unvierso writes about the WAR lucha libe group in Ecuador. We need to make a map of all these small promotions in South America.
Estadio W, who hopefully can find time to fix their web audio feed, writes about the 65th Anniversary of Arena Coliseo from a boxing history standpoint.

Hmmm. Aren’t there supposed to be No More Lucha Shows in this building?

I think Kids day last year was a 6 match card, Cubs. I’m sure it was the show where Averno worked tecnico and we got a Tzuki TV match out of it. I always remembered that one because Shockercito killed himself on a suciide rana :)
Awesome looking card though. Hopefully it stays at 4 matches for obvious reasons.
And if i can be greedy, La Mascara and Astro Boy no show, and Stuka and Neutron just happen to have no bookings that day :)
Is Hijo Del Fantasma the same guy who worked for Ultimo Dragon’s fed? I think he worked a singles match v Ohara on one of them? If it’s him my first impressions were pretty decent.
It was six. I think I’m thinking of the years where they ran it on Saturday in between normal shows.
So Konnan must’ve worked Torreon and canceled the indie in Miami. He’s in the photos in that link on top.
Psicosis was busted crossing the border without working papers according to today’s WON. I wonder who is reporting all the luchadors to INS?
I think it’s the Auditorio in Torreon that banned Lucha, not Tampico. I seem to remember the link you provided to a newspaper in Torreon with the idiot building manager saying “no more Lucha Libre in my building”. Maybe Chui remembers something about this.
From the 4/14/08 edition of WON: “AAA drew 11,000 for a tv taping in Torreon including Jack Evans, Teddy Hart,……………………………”
… meanwhile “Intocable cautivó a los cientos de laguneros” cientos meaning “hundreds”.
Yeah, it is the local Auditorio the one banned, it seems that it is because of the local basketball team complainging about damages to the surface, not only lucha but anything else has been cancelled… it’s suppossed to belong to all Torreonians, but it seems it’s Basketball exclusive.
A shame Auditorio Torreon gave in to the basketball team like that. No reason anyone can’t rent it during the off-season.
“From the 4/14/08 edition of WON: “AAA drew 11,000 for a tv taping in Torreon including Jack Evans, Teddy Hart,……………………………”
If Meltzer knew jackshit about Lucha he could also write “including Cibernetico, El Zorro, and Mr. Niebla.”
Do you honestly think Jack and Teddy made a single extra person buy a ticket? I like both those guys, Jack more than Teddy, but let’s be real here and not live in Observerland.
*calms down*
The mystery match is from last week’s Coliseo show so it’s a mistake.
The posted for the Kid’s Day show is so awesome

It was the attendance figure I was poking fun at a little more. It looks like Konnan was there, so attendance figures will be up. Way up.
CMLL is really breaking out the classic footage. They showed Demon vs. Rayo from 1989 mask match. Footage looked pretty good. Sad CMLL won’t come out with DVD’s. If piss bags like WWO can, I don’t see why CMLL can’t.
No AAA results? I thought they were a mainstream company.
Demon vs Rayo is not owned by CMLL.
I guess not. But i hope they got permission to show the Demon vs. Rayo match.
Was not that match prommoted by Elizondo who’s suing CMLL?
Anyway, I wonder if CMLL put that match on the show or it was MVS on their own, if I was CMLL, I wouldn’t have shown it, no need to prommote guys who are no longer around and their sons are working for rival groups (sorta)
I believe Elizondo promoted the match. But that does not mean he owns the footage if a broadcast company paid him for the tv rights. MVS shows a lot of things that I wouldn’t. And they don’t show a lot of things they should.
BTW, Kids Day lineup is fantastic and I can’t wait to see it. New mini’s will only make the division even stronger! I hope the tecnico is tiny. I wonder if Pequeno Ninja will just be one of the smaller Toryumon dudes via Ultimo Dragon.
The Fantasma Jr. in CMLL will be the one that worked in AAA and Ultimo Dragon’s promotion. He’s pretty fun but not overly spectacular. I think the other Fantasma kid retired.
“this was lifted directly from the Mascaras y Cabellaras documentary, as indicated by the logo.” – is what I said when I recapped this three weeks ago on CAN52
They probably just got permission from whomever did the documentary, not the promoter.
These matches clips are hyped as requests from people who send in mail to the address they always mention. No telling if they actually are, but that’s the story.
Pequeno Ninja is a Ultimo guy and has worked the Dradition shows with UD guys last month.
WOOHOO! I made a good guess for a change.:D Hopefully Nino De Acero is a new name for Electrico.
You know something else I’m looking forward to is Cadena Tres this weekend b/c it’ll be the first time Mascarita Dorada will be working a TV match w/o Pequeno Damian on the opposing side. I’m guessing he’ll do most of his work with Pequeno Warrior and they are always full of creativity so it should be fun!
