03/27: Azteca, Neza, NL

either Alfonso Lizarraga
or Jose Lazaro Rodriguez
for The Gladiatores

AAA (FRI) 03/21 Arena Azteca Budokan [the gladiatores]
1) Kagura, Rey Dragon, Sobredosis b Clinico, Galactico, Rey Neza
2) Caballero Nocturno, Sexy Amazonas, Skullman b Andromeda, Piloto Fantasma, Ricky Gonzalez
3) Fabi Apache, Gran Apache, Mari Apache b Estrellita, Oriental, Rossy Moreno
4) Mini Charly Manson & Mini Cibernetico b Mr. Takote, Octagoncito
5) La Parka Jr., Charly Manson, Chessman b Alan Stone, Chris Stone, Super Calo

The show stealer is that photo. Rossy just beat Estrellita with a chair and her fist until she bled. And she sure did bleed. They’re doing a hair match in April. In the main event, Parka started out in the match but the Stones attcked his hurt arm in the first fall, and was taken to the match. Angel replaced him, and the tecnicos rallied to win the second, then won the third when Parka came back out to help.

Also important: Super Calo’s Fu Man Chu mustache. A fine idea.

CMLL (THU) 03/20 Arena Neza [thegladiatores]
1) Dare Devil & Freesbe b Black Lancer & Puma King
2) Molotov & Trueno b Calígula & Méssala
3) Mr. Aguilita, Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Halloween b Bam Bam, Pequeño Olímpico, Último Dragoncito
4) Felino, La Sombra, Leono b Arkangel de la Muerte, Dr. X, Nitro
5) Místico, Negro Casas, Stuka b Averno, Damián 666, Mephisto

Stuka replaced Alex.

AAA (MON) 03/24 Arena Cuatro Caminos de Nuevo Laredo [RFC]
3) Decnnis, Scorpio Jr., Zumbido b Hombre Sin Miedo, Laredo Kid, Sangre Chicana
4) Charly Manson, Gronda II, La Parka Jr. b Cuervo, Escoria, Ozz

On Box y Lucha, writer Javier Munoz shares his memories of traveling with Bestia Salvaje. Another columnist, Fernando Alvarez, says Mistico is booed because he’s not humble enough and oversensitive to the booing.

Rey_Fuego @ Satanico’s Mansion reposted Record’s list of The Top 75 Luchadors (in Mexico) Over The Last 75 Years. I’m going to put in after the jump because it’s a long list, but it’s pretty interesting to see who doesn’t quite make the list.

The list is in order of debut and you’ll note it includes people who wrestled anywhere, not just CMLL.

  1. I don’t really think these guys should be in the list, (well, even the last 10 from the list although I guess time will tell), there were better known names from their times.

    07. Miguel ‘Black’ Guzmán
    14. Tonina Jackson
    17. El Espectro
    20. Wolf Rubinsky
    24. El Gladiador
    30. Enrique Vera
    35. Tamba
    37. El Texano
    47. Gran Cochisse
    55. Súper Muñeco
    59. Blue Demon Jr.
    68. Oro

  2. Who would you replace all those guys with though, Chui?

I need to read the fine print b/c I was all ready to start bashing some of the rankings till I realized it was order of debut.

  3. Miguel ‘Black’ Guzmán – Charro Aguayo or leave him but take out that Merced guy, Charro was much bigger star than either.

Tonina Jackson – Gran Markus (heck, even Bennetto would fit here)

    El Espectro – El Espanto

Wolf Rubinsky – El Espanto II

    El Gladiador – Chacho Herodes

    Enrique Vera – Mocho Cota

Tamba – Mocho Cota (they’re pretty much the same weight LOL)

    El Texano – Silver King

    Gran Cochisse – Jerry Estrada

    Súper Muñeco – Anyone

Blue Demon Jr. – Blue Panther

    68. Oro
    69. Cibernético
    70. El Tirantes
    71. Latin Lover
    72. Héctor Garza
    73. Shocker
    74. Hijo del Perro Aguayo
    75. Místico

Ciber, Mistico and Latin would be the only ones I’ll let there… Obviously Ultimo Guerrero & Rey Bucanero should be there, I understan Chessman not being included by Record’s standards, thoug.

    68. Oro – Felino?
    69. Cibernético
    70. El Tirantes – Fuerza Guerrera
    71. Latin Lover
    72. Héctor Garza – Dandy
    73. Shocker – Ultimo Guerrero
    74. Hijo del Perro Aguayo – Rey Bucanero
    75. Místico

  4. I wonder if I could come up with a 75 Laguneros list… might be better than the one above *L*
