03/08: Mexico, lineups, GdR

CMLL (FRI) 03/07 Arena Mexico [ovaciones, ESTO, superlucha]
1) Starman & Tony Rivera b Calígula & Méssala
2) Máscara Púrpura, Mictlán, Stuka Jr. b Arkangel de la Muerte, Skandalo, Virus
3) Alex Koslov, Marco Corelone, Valiente CO Olímpico, Rey Bucanero, Universo 2000
4) Dos Caras Jr. & LA Park DQ Atlantis & Último Guerrero [torneo, sf]
5) el Hijo del Perro Aguayo & Villano V b Blue Panther & Dr. Wagner Jr. [torneo, sf]
6) el Hijo del Perro Aguayo & Villano V b Dos Caras Jr. & LA Park [torneo, final]
7) Héctor Garza b Averno

Garza got attacked by two Avernos to start the match – Mephisto dressed up like his partner to give him an early edge. Averno couldn’t finish Hector off in that first fall, and Hector ended up winning the fall. Perro tried to help out in the second fall, but his interference backfired and Hector took in two. Hector warned Perro this is whats’ coming on 03/21.

Dos and Park beat the Guerreros clean. Perro Jr. and Villano V used the ropes to pin Blue Panther and Dr. Wagner, then used a foul to take the match.

Marco took out all the rudos with Air Italia to the outside in the third fall of his match, and none could make it back in time.

CMLL (TUE) 03/11 Arena Mexico
1) Sensei & Trueno vs Carrona & Cholo
2) Fire, Mr. Aguilita, Pequeño Damian 666 vs Celestial, Electrico, Shockercito
3) Fabián el Gitano, Felino, Máximo vs Dr. X, Mentallo, Shigeo Okumura
4) Alex Koslov, Sagrado, Volador Jr. vs Ephesto, Misterioso II, Virus
5) Héctor Garza, La Sombra, Marco Corelone vs Damián 666, Terrible, Texano Jr.

Hey, look, the Mexican trios champs not together AND Alex and Marco not together. They’re totally doing on purpose, someone in CMLL must dislike the idea of stable tecnico groups. (This is a crackpot theory, but you’ll notice we’ve only heard about Mistico’s idea for a group from outside sources.)

CMLL (FRI) 03/14 Arena Mexico
1) Ángel Azteca Jr. & Metálico vs Pólvora & Vaquero
2) Flash, Máscara Púrpura, Stuka Jr. vs Loco Max, Nitro, Skandalo
3) Dark Angel, Goddess, Marcela vs Amapola, Hiroka, Princesa Sujei
4) Alex Koslov, Blue Panther, Negro Casas vs Damián 666, Mr. Águila, Villano V
5) Héctor Garza, Marco Corelone, Místico vs Averno, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Mephisto

Kinda weak card. Build for the main event and not much else. While that’s not the strongest group of Rebeldes (maybe the weakest?), I presume there are some pleased people that match ended up second and the women’s match ended up third.

CMLL CAN52 Guerreros del Ring #119
02/29 Mexico: Arkangel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Nitro b Fabián el Gitano, Flash, Super Nova
03/02 Coliseo: Último Guerrero b Marco Corelone

  1. If all they’re airing is the Torneo and the main, I’m not gonna go out of my way to sit and watch the TV show today. I’d hope they squeeze in the Valiente match but I’m not too worried if they don’t b/c…

… don’t forget we’re headed to a PPV week so they’ll be airing at least two or three older matches. So I wouldn’t be shocked if something from this week eventually airs on the 22nd. Same for next week so I’m not too concerned about the pathetic lineup and match placement. It makes sense to put on a shitty card so it looks like Garza and Perrito drew something on the 21st.

Didn’t we just see that main event 2 weeks ago though?

Celestial and Electrito will be on the hotseat this Tuesday and hopefully looking to make up for their weak debuts.:) Not much else of note except the silly booking once again.

  2. NICE find. The other channel was being ultra shitty today with audio going in and out and playing at like 48k p/s.

Only problem with the new feed is I don’t know how to record it. Sorry Mentallo fans.:/

  3. Must just be me cause the CadenaTres feed is coming in great. I’m guessing you don’t use JLC do you Rob?

Mini’s match was alright. Dorada is much better when he’s with Mini Abismo though.

  4. What’s JLC?

Mini’s were fun as usual. They’re really trying to make the Perritos into ultra-rudos with the DQ’s. I think Dorada is just as good in CMLL as he was in AAA.

Now I wish I had recorded the Mentallo match just to youtube Fabian’s first fall slip.

  5. Fantastically horrible slip that pretty much blew the first fall. The crowd laughing and the repeated replays made it that much better.

  6. The Garza/Averno main was quite good. I think I’m gonna like Garza’s technico turn if he does the same stuff in the tags as he did in this match. I’m actually looking forward to the hair match now. I didn’t like the rest of the show much, though.

  7. I can’t wait for Garza/Perro. They been doing a good job building towards this match.

I thought the Torneo was decent.I’m about to watch the mini’s match.

  8. Bucanero/Aguila was exactly what I expected. Fun stuff – if a bit sloppy at times. Both used cool moves in the third fall and I liked Aguila’s second fall dive. They didn’t work the standard title match with pointless matwork early on and predictable nearfalls using the ropes in the third fall so thank god for that! It’d be cool to see more matches like these once in a while. Perhaps La Sombra defending against Texano…

  9. How about that… I just realized there were 3 singles matches today. Corleone/Guerrero, Garza/Averno and Bucanero/Aguila.

  10. Azteca Lucha not airing over here probably means that the cities mentioned in the original article are the ones having the shows, (since they named 13 cities but said they’ll only tape 10 shows and at least 2 are in Mexico City). So I’m thinking IWRG just bought local air time for said cities…

  11. WHAT? I missed the new Barrio Boys?!?!?!!? Fucking stupid programming schedule. I would have tuned in but I thought it was 1:45 and didn’t care to see the top matches. Boo.

  12. What time did AAA start? Thought it was going to start at 1pm PST but there was a track and field event shown instead. Unfortunately, I had to restart the computer before 2pm PST and couldn’t get the feed working again.

  13. It started a 15:00 Hrs local time, and ended 10 minutes before usual to air a soccer game.

  14. If you tuned in at 1, it was probably just 12 if I have my time correct. For the next 3 weeks the feed will be 2 hours behind and then it will be back to the normal 1 hour difference.

  15. Aw man, considering the shitty tecnico side, that CMLL opener on Friday looked fun if the pics are anything to go by!

At least one of those 3 awesome spots needs to make Momentos next week!
